My experience working here was…

My experience working here was extremely negative from day one. On my first day, I was late due to the lack of staff parking. Despite raising this issue immediately, a staff member later claimed I hadn’t addressed it, which was untrue. The workplace environment was hostile, unwelcoming, and left me feeling very uncomfortable.

I was dismissed via text message without any proper discussion of the issues I had raised, including serious concerns about inappropriate behaviour from the branch manager. In addition, my car was not added to the parking system as promised, which resulted in multiple parking tickets. These escalated into court fines, and when I raised this with management, their response was essentially dismissive, telling me I should have paid them earlier — with no acknowledgement of their failure to register my car in the first place.

Overall, this company demonstrated a lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic duty of care. The entire experience has left me deeply disappointed and negatively affected. I would not recommend working here.

I am fighting hard to keep in all the bad words this company deserves. All I can say is to avoid them at all cost. they do not take any accountability for their poor unprofessional services. their focus is purely on making money, no customer care, no respect. Every single interaction with them is a A COMPLETE MOCKERY

AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. Please avoid renting at all costs. I never leave reviews but i hope that i can help people wanting to rent with this agency. They will try to scam you as much as possible, I have never been treated as badly as i have with this agency. They will use every legal avenue to scam you and withhold your deposit from you. Please also read up on your rights as a tenant, they are not up to date on this and will use outdated laws against tenants. Emotionally draining tenants is their goal which explains the high turnover. Please rent elsewhere.

Staff never reply to emails.
I show up at their office talking about some flats I would like to view.
She said she will send me an email for details,
never receive any emails.

Never ever use them again.

Made a enquiry to rent an apartment from 1st Avenue and firstly they didn’t get back to me. After the second attempt I phoned them and explained that I was ringing to enquire about renting one of their apartments. I spoke to a woman called Michelle and quite frankly found her quite rude, uninterested and unhelpful. She had no personality it was like talking to an automated service. She said that she would send me a link for an online viewing but never sent it. I got the impression she really wasn’t interested in renting me the apartment hence her uninterested attitude and failure to sent me the link for my online viewing. Won’t use them again

I have just moved out of a flat which I rented for several years through 1st Avenue in Croydon. I always had any issue dealt with promptly with no fuss. The staff are all helpful. I never had any cause to complain and I would recommend them, and use them again in the future.

Un-responsive staff, tenants deposit holder

I am extremely disappointed the way they treat their customer. I rented a apartment through 1staveneue.co.uk last year 2020 during lockdown, so we could not visit the property and through video and information provided us we confirmed the property. The property were listed as "zero deposit" but when we like the property and informed our current landlord about our move, they asked us 5 weeks deposit. This was the first think they fooled us. Anyway we have to move so we paid deposit.
Then we moved to property the property were not at all cleaned all over dirt's, furniture were broken and open nail on walls. we reported this multiple times but those query never addressed, so we cleaned our selves.
Since we were in contract, after 6 month we decided to move out and we handed over very clean property compare to what we got. But still they want to deduct £240 in name of cleaning. THough their end of tenancy report does not show anything specific. As per TDS the deposit should be paid back within 10 days. I am still waiting for my deposit after 20 days. So this seems to their business model. Where they are inclined toward benefiting the property owner and unethically holding tenants deposit.
So please be aware of finalizing any property through them. Only go through them if you got some extra money and don't care if that does not comeback :-)
