Excellent Customer Service
Was gifted a lovely Chinese Elm from some departing pupils. I purchased a catch tray so that my bonsai could be kept on a windowsill. There ware a rare fault in the glaze that caused it to leak but a quick email and prompt response from Eva sorted it out with a replacement within days. An example of excellent customer service from a top-notch company.

Friendly, efficient, helpfully company. Purchase a Buddhist Pine, swift delivery, tree in perfect health and looking amazing!
Wanted to order the Dawn Redwood but didn’t want the pot it was pictured in so they offered to re potting it for me in a pot I like with no hassle. Willing to help with advice on caring for your tree too, not just there to sell. Yorkshire Bonsai will be my preferred supplier.

A Masterclass in How Not to Handle Customers
I waited 42 days for an update on my order, only to finally be told that it wouldn’t fit. Throughout this time, I attempted to use their automated service, but it didn’t help. When I finally received a response, the focus was placed more on my tone rather than resolving the actual issue—reacting strongly to me saying “tf” to an AI assistant, not even to their staff.
While I appreciate that they refunded my order, the overall communication felt dismissive and lacked a customer-focused approach. After reviewing other responses from the company on Trustpilot, I’ve noticed a pattern in how they engage with customers, which doesn’t foster a positive experience.
I’d still like to purchase a bonsai pot and tray, but my experience so far has made me hesitant. A more constructive and customer-friendly approach would significantly improve interactions and overall satisfaction.
Edit:
The shift between “we’re under no obligation to help” and “we’re here to help” was difficult to miss. Refusing future orders over a remark directed at an automated assistant - a bot, not your staff - is a revealing response that speaks for itself, and it shows far more on your approach to customers than anything I said.

Your order was placed on 29th April, and we actually contacted you just four days later, on 3rd May, to advise that the items you selected were not compatible. This communication was not in response to a query from yourself, but rather a proactive step we took—despite being under no obligation—to help avoid disappointment by dispatching incorrect items. Unfortunately, we did not receive a response to that message.
As for your comment about communication, please know that our team personally reads and replies to all customer messages. We do not rely solely on automated systems to handle customer service. While we understand that frustration can build over time, we must also be clear that inappropriate or offensive language—regardless of the platform it’s used on—is not acceptable. Our team is here to help, and we ask for the same respect in return.
We genuinely value thoughtful feedback from our customers, as it helps us continue to improve. However, given the tone and nature of previous interactions, we feel it would be best not to proceed with any future orders. We wish you all the best in your bonsai journey and thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.

Brilliant Experience!
I was looking for a new oval glazed pot for my Chinese Elm, in which no one else seemed to sell, I came across Yorkshire Bonsai, and they had an absolute amazing range, with affordable items and delivery.
I even purchased certain accessories which are very handy and have made my bonsai experience more pleasurable.
Delivery was on the day by Royal Mail, excellent packaging and everything arrived lovely!

Tree was very nice but delivery a shambles
Tree was very nice but delivery was a shambles. They advertise clearly on their website "SATURDAY AND SUNDAY DELIVERY AVAILABLE" (in fact they're the first words) and "pick your delivery date" - which is exactly what I did to time with arrival on my wife's birthday.
Sunday morning I receive an email from Royal Mail saying it'll be delivered on Monday. So there I am, wife's birthday with no gift planning to arrive on the day.
Long story short, if you plan to use, I would not trust the wording on their website

You're absolutely right to expect your delivery on the selected date, especially when we highlight weekend delivery as an option. We understand how disappointing it must have been for your wife's birthday gift not to arrive on time, and we sincerely apologise for that.
While we do offer Saturday and Sunday delivery on many of our products, unfortunately, we rely on third-party couriers, and occasionally despite our best efforts and intentions, there can be a delay in the network.

Incredible customer service
Incredible customer service. I bought a tree from Yorkshire Bonsai back in 2023, and recently contacted them for some help to try and revive it as sadly, it has died. The tree died through no fault of theirs, but I was in contact with Paul over the Easter weekend, he couldn't do enough to help me and without being asked, offered me a substantial discount on a replacement tree so that I can try again. Paul also told me I was welcome to contact him as often as needed for advice to keep the new tree healthy. Well deserved 5 star rating!
