Watch Out When Cancelling Contract
I had Vodafone Broadband for 2 years. I decided to switch once the price rose at the end of the contract, and I found a much better deal with PlusNet. I paid all my dues and moved on. The next thing I received a nasty email from Vodafone telling me I had missed this month's payment, and they were going to 'slow' my connection and eventually turn it off if I didn't pay. I found this odd as I didn't have a connection for them to 'slow' down. I ignored the email, only to receive another one week later from the 'collection team' threatening legal action. I phoned VF. I was told to pay up. I protested that I didn't need to pay as my contract was finished! I then raised a formal complaint with a view to taking action against VF. Finally, the matter was dropped. It appears there was a fault in the billing. It seems that a multi-million-pound company doesn't have a decent billing computer. If I had just paid this bill I would have lost the money. Please beware
