Brilliant service, from measuring up for carpets, choosing, fitting, nothing was too much trouble. Prices are really good, friendly staff. I have been coming to the united carpets store in idle for many years, and will continue to do so. J.D.

Came in for vinyl flooring, given good advice and prices, both staff were helpful. Made purchase, checked to ensure I could fit the vinyl in my vehicle, it would, piece cut and lifted into my car.

Staff very polite , not pushing us to buy , when we did choose our carpet they were very helpful.we bought a room carpet and in April we bought a stair carpet.
We will use them again for our bedroom carpets in the near future x

From start to finish the service was first class nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff even when we had to delay the fitting date everything went so smooth

A male worker from United visited my home to measure the steps, from my living room to upstairs. I told him that the steps were slanting, causing my family to trip on them and that my son-in-law said that the steps needed to be levelled off before putting new carpets. The worker said no, the old carpet was too thick and I should have a thinner carpet. I paid him for the thinner carpet and underlay in my home and he accepted my card in his card gadget. United then sent a carpet fitter. The fitter said it would be unwise to fit the carpet because the steps were slanting and I needed a joiner first. He took the carpet and underlay back to United. I then went to United and said that the worker gave me wrong advice. The manager and worker were hostile and said the worker's first assessment was correct because the steps had carpet on during the assessment and no one takes carpet off to assess. I asked for my carpet and underlay to be delivered to my home and cancelled all other work they planned to do in my home, which, apart from the steps, were measure and fit laminate floor in my living room, dining room, kitchen and downstairs hallway. They weren't helpful, apologetic or sympathetic in any way. I was so disappointed and sad about it all that I raised my voice to them and the manger shouted at me

I visited the Store at Idle with my sister and spent a long time looking round and choosing a carpet, Mick who works at this branch was very helpful when we needed advice etc, I liked shopping here because they don't follow you around trying to sell you something but they let you know when you go in to just ask and they come and help/advise if needed which they did, I have shopped here with my sister and they were very good that's why I went there for my carpet, also the fitters came today to fit the carpet and they were very respectful of my property and very friendly and polite, I will use this store again

Review based on fitting, sales staff in store really helpful at point of purchase however I had a carpet fit in July in a newly decorated room, allowed the gloss a week to dry prior to carpet fitting and the fitter ruined all the gloss work on the skirting. And by ruined I mean big scuffs/chips out of the paint the whole way around the room.
I called the store who said they would send the fitter back, not sure how that was going to solve the issue, then they said they would phone me the following morning to see what I wanted them to do to solve the issue, obviously they never called me back. I needed to regloss and who wants to paint with a brand new carpet down and repeat a job they've done the previous week. Highly disappointed with the fitter and the customer service from the store to be honest.

Visited the store in Crossgates Leeds. Ian gave us great advice in deciding the carpet that best suited our needs and kept us informed every step of the way. The price was good and the fit was perfect. Alltogether a great experience and well worth five stars.

Poorly fit, short lino in areas, filled in with little tiny pieces so we didn't notice.
Not stuck down well at the edges, 3 baggy areas across the floor.
Shop staff were great, fitters weren't that professional for a few reasons.
Fitters always whine every time they do a job, it's either we should be paid more for this, or carpet style chosen or a multitude of other things, I paid for fitting for all the square meters including the offcut areas, I was told that the job sheet only says kitchen, I told the shop kitchen /porch using the offcut from the kitchen.
I paid for all the lino fitting, every last bit so fit it where I want it.

They never turn up at the time booked, sometimes not at all and won't drill grippers into concrete floors

It wasn't exactly a hard offcut to do 2m x 1.2m room

Paying the fitters cash separately because they work self employed and never getting a receipt even when you ask for one.

I've had carpet cut short and promised to come back and fit a wide door bar to hide it, that never happened

Very professional and helpful in the store, good value for money, the carpet fitters we’re very good.

We bought a new build and needed flooring for the whole house. Mick at the Idle store was extremely helpful. He was on the end of an email or phone call if I had any queries. There was an issue with the concrete in the house which Mick identified and advised me on. We were able to rectify this (being first time buyers we weren’t even aware this was an issue).
If Mick hadn’t been so helpful, this could have been a huge issue.

We are really happy with the flooring and choices we made but the outstanding service provided by Mick was really valuable. I would highly recommend the Idle store.

Excellent service. Very knowledgeable staff and helpful. Delivery on time. Used them 3 times and always the same.
