So, I was called for an interview which went well. Then came the background questions. I told them I had a felony from 22 yrs ago and since that time I’ve graduated from a university and I’m the ceo of my own insurance agency. I have nothing else on my background but a simple felony in the 5th degree. When I tell you they literally said after an extensive review lmfao extensive there is nothing else on the report. Anyway the took the offer from me. So if you are a student with a felony looking to change your life this school is not it. Period Amazing Trump a convicted felon is running for the highest office in the land with a fresh felony mine is 22 yrs old smh Of course a person with a drug felony may not be able to get into a the medical field. However that should not stop them from getting in other fields. I graduated from a university in psychology and a minor in criminal justice and have held great jobs.

All on this thread that this "school" has done wrong, let's all get together for a class action lawsuit for libel, slander, stating services that never happen, loan fraud, financial aid fraud and anything else that can be done. They told my wife that she has a warrant so she cannot attend after 5 weeks, I look at the official court dockets and there is NOTHING on her record. It's just an excuse to drop her and take her money. I hope UMA sees this because I give UMA one chance to call us back. 24hours is all they get.

I would give them triple zero's if i could . They lie and they harrass you to death untihl they get the financial aide and loans and then they stop all communication and steal your money. They sent me 3 diffentent award letters and each was a different amount. They made one of the documents dissapear thankfully i had already saved it though. i asked to be withdrawn for two weeks they waited to they got my finacial aide and loans and then withdrew me. I dont know what they did with the remaining funds becuase it showed it was put in my account and when i asked where it was she said sent back to DOE. 2 weeks after i withdrew finally they billed me another tuition of 3000.00 . Now they wont answer me but its ok i wont stop untihl something is done about this school and it needs the doors closed on it . WE all need to come togehter and file a lawsuit and take this to the news journals and such because this is all wrong what thier doing and stealing millions from students who want to better them selves! i Will not stop until i sue them and something is done about them

I attended this school and received my associates in Medical Billing and Coding. They told me if I did well in my classes I would receive excellent help with job placement once I graduated. Well, I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and they tried to place me in jobs that for one, were not even close to medical billing and/or coding jobs, and two, told me I would only get placed in jobs that paid no higher than $14/hour.... In this economy... After racking up 24k in student loan debt.
I went on to get my CPC through the AAPC, called UMA back to see if they would help place me in a job, and I got the same responses.
I wish I could report them and get all my money back, even if that meant they took my degree from me. Because this school is the biggest joke and most jobs do not even accept this school as being credited.
Now I am in student loan debt and for what?
PLEASE DO NOT APPLY HERE and go take a course through the AAPC. I wish I did.

I was a previous employee at UMA and all the bad reviews here are extremely accurate. I was terminated after they were notified that my grandfather passed away, they terminated me in the same day I found the news out. They terminated me for absences although their employee handbook states that in order to receive an occurrence for not being at work. It has to be a non approved absence and they given me occurrences for missing work for waiting on THEIR equipment to arrive so I can get my work done. I even requested certain days off way ahead of time so I’m able to handle my personal life business, my son is going through a major medical procedure and I was given an occurrence because I had a PRE-APPROVED absence to take my son to the doctor. The leadership forces you to sign documentation although you do not agree with it. I was told to sign my caf 3 corrective action or it could lead to immediate termination. They recently removed the hours I worked before my termination so I’m not receiving any pay as well. I’m currently in the works with my lawyer attempting to get in contact with some from UMA but they have been dodging me since termination date. I’d not recommend this school to students or even individuals looking for employment. The job itself is disturbing since we are forced to get to know people and their personal problems just to exploit it and attempt to get them to enroll in school. It’s been times where staff has openly spoken about students and their personal problems and issues with other employees. At times, this company can be very unprofessional and greedy. The turn over rate for employment is extremely high.

After 5 weeks at UMA I was dropped with no warning, there staff are very nice at the beginning but once your in they don’t care. A+ attended all of my classes on time and just like that dropped. Even if there was an issue why not call and say well we did not get a document on time or whatever the case was, at this point I have zero faith in America. Hopefully my next attempt at school is a better one. UMA you should be ashamed to call yourself a school.

I would rate this school 0 plus only because I took up medical billing and coding two years ago i was told they help with finding employment but need happen i been calling just say i call you back waste of money and my time everyone read the review before apply for this school

I regrettably was sent an ad on Facebook for this college and decided to ask for more information since my husband is sick and I will need a better income. I thought I would get an email. I’m sitting in the hospital with my husband waiting on a liver transplant and these people have robo called me over and over. I block one number and they call me from another number. It is CONSTANT!! I can’t silence my phone since I am waiting on calls from the transplant team and other doctors. They are making a stressful time for me SO MUCH MORE DIFFICULT!! I would never attend this school!! EVER!! I learned my lesson about Facebook!! At this point I literally HATE these people. They won’t stop calling!!

I initially gave a bad review, but in February 2024, I got accepted into Saint Leo University for my Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration. So, don’t give up if you’re a graduate of the school’s degree programs; just search high and low for schools that will accept. Believe it or not, I asked ‘ChatGPT’ for advice. I typed in which colleges accept nationally accredited credits, but make sure to reach out to the schools.

Quora might have a question from three years ago listing colleges that accept nationally accredited credits, but be sure to check with the registrars or the school and send over your transcripts from UMA. Also, make sure to apply for scholarships when you enroll in Ultimate Medical Academy and afterward if you’re continuing your education to your bachelor’s. Some of the listed partnered schools are for-profit, so try to get into a reputable online school that’s not for-profit if you finish UMA.

Keep in mind that you may get rejected from other schools for credits being nationally accredited, but I did my research before dismissing the school. Be ready for both good and bad outcomes; you’ll find a school that accepts. To avoid this, if you’re someone who doesn’t want to go through this process as I did, consider going to your local online community college since it’s often more affordable. I still prefer for a person to pick a much more regionally accredited school before a nationally accredited school.

UMA IS A BIG FAT SCAM. I GAVE UP MY BUSINESS JUST TO PERSUE A NEW CARRER IN THE MEDICAL FEILD. AFTER THEY GOT THEIR MONEY FROM FINANCIAL AID, THEY DROPPED ME FROM THE PROGRAM. I DIDNOT RECIEVE MY LOAN AT ALL. DONT ENROLL IN THIS FALSE, DECEPTIVE, UNSTABLE SCHOOL!!!! MAY THE LORD BLESS EVERYONE THAT UMA HAS DONE WRONG!!!!!

I do Like that the school is non profit and they seem to care but all the negative reviews scared me. Very possibly being able to get a job after according to many reviews. I still enrolled since there is good reviews and I wanted to make up my own mind and started but my mental health was getting worse (not because of the school) and I dropped but it took like 3-4 people to go through and they kept trying to talk me into it which made it really hard for me. They need to work on their communication as well. Financial aid called me a lot and it was different people and the one didn’t know what was going on, alongside the other UMA employees. Even after I had dropped. But they did work with me to get my tuition down, the payment at least. It was very nice of them. I just have very mixed feelings about them. I am trying to go back into cording and I want to consider them but I’m just not sure. So just talk to them and do research but if some of those things are a deal breaker to you then don’t go.

I would give o stars if I could, I enrolled in Uma started classes last week on Monday. I was having issues with my financial aid but was able to get that settled on Tuesday I even spoke with financial aid to make sure I had submitted everything so I wouldn't get dropped. She said yes that I was good now nothing further needed to be done. On Wednesday when I open my laptop to get started on the second weeks course, I come to a blank screen no courses were assigned and tried calling financial aid tried calling Miyel admissions rep since Thursday and she never answered. Called to admissions they told me I was dropped due to not completing my paperwork for financial aid. Eventhough I had spoken to them and said I was good and would not get dropped. Now I try to call them seems like the blocked my number cause call drops but I used a second phone number it rings right aways. Don't bother with this school not worth your time and troubles

This is basically a scam organization. I showed interest in the school and got a call from a rep. After finding out it was like $29k for a simple associates degree (I can pay less for a bachelors), I said no. Since then, UMA has called my phone over 25 times from 3 different numbers. This is actual spam at this point. I’m really glad I won’t have horror stories like these reviews from actually signing up for this school.

It doesn't even make sense to ask us to be honest about our experience with UMA because I don't think anyone would just sit up and use all of their energy and time just to make up lies about a school like this.Plus if more than one person has made a statement about a specific situation then it's obviously true,right? I'm definitely about to be honest with y'all.

Issue #1 UMA allowed me to enroll into their school,took and collected all of my private and personal information,used it to receive funds then kept the funds all for themselves. I received messages via school status inquiring that I was supposed to have received a certain amount back and til this very day and second I still haven't seen or heard anything about it.

(Issue#2). UMA dropped me because someone called them and told someone in the staff department that I did not have a High School Diploma kml and they began to basically harassed me about the statement that was given to them instead of trying to at least investigate the issue first.Then, because I did not present any proof within the time they were asking me to present my proof they up and dropped me. No, I was not asked to show any proof of my High School Diploma before starting this program. I was told that I could enroll and show documents later.

Now tell me who's that crazy to enroll in school (college)knowing that they do not have the qualifications to enroll? & if I didn't have a High School Diploma why take all of my personal information then just drop me? That's crazy!!! Y'all were sending books in the mail and holding on to people's refund checks. Mind you....No one informed the students that they wouldn't be seeing a cent out of their refund.
Those books were not that high price wise which means a lot of money was left over after sending out books.

(Issue #3) I told a gentleman employed for UMA the size clothing that I needed and they still sent clothing that were SO small. I was EXTREMELY embarrassed to even wear the uniform out doors in fear of being laughed at. It's not right that y'all have one size uniforms knowing people will be enrolling who's bigger and requires bigger clothing. It's an insult if you ask me. I was so proud of myself for starting a new chapter in my life and because of UMA,it was a very terrible experience for me. The pants barely came up my legs y'all and the top part was so BIG it was the worst experience ever for me. Since then I have not even attempted to enroll in any more colleges because of my experience with UMA.

I shared my experience with my followers of (17.6k) just to warn them about this school and thank God they looked elsewhere for schooling and is receiving THEIR refunds regularly. I will continue to share this experience with others because no one deserves to be done the way I was done and especially not those who are actually trying to better themselves for future purposes.

Most students are either a Mother or Father and they have to support their families. Why take from them like y'all do?!!

I am new student to UMA my experience has been a complete nightmare. I have courses from another that could have transferred but they tell me although it's the same class we go over different stuff. The lies you all tell. Financial aid department has no clue what they are doing. I had to sign my paperwork 5 times. Then was told any funding left over I need to apply for. Never heard of that usually when there is money left over the student decides what they want to do with the money not the school..And it should not take 4-6 weeks for students to get the funds if you all get the funding on the 13th. What are you all really doing with our funds. Also what told it would be one class per semester on a full-time schedule they lied. I'm taking 2 classes which makes it hard to work and do school work with two classes. That's a setup for failure especially when you are an A student. I give double zero stars.

I highly do not recommend this school they judge you based off your knowledge on those 3 tests you have to do instead of helping you advance I felt like they judged me off my scores and dropped all my classes , did not call me and I remember a Donna told me that it goes based off what I know did not mention my glasses will be dropped and that's because I was passing all my classes , Never will recommend this school to anyone.

I attended from 2012-14. After completing, got sent on interviews that had nothing to do with curriculum. Never got a job through them. Waste of time. If I thought I could get a refund I'd pursue. Don't waste your time with UMA.

Uma dropped me my 5 or 6th week even though my grades were amazing because they said my financial aid failed through. I sacrificed 5-6 weeks with my toddler because I was reading my book from beginning to end and completing the assignments. The financial staff at uma are cold and only care about their status.
