This company chases for debts which are not accurate. When requesting detail under GDPR would not provide this. Threatened passing to a Credit Reference Agency which could affect my credit rating. This was not my debt and had not received any previous correspondence. They are a scam threating company
For military property service personnel do not pay for water bill. Why am I receiving water bill debt collection threat from this company. I have already had chat with this coy and sign posted to the department who could help them but still receiving letter.
My wife has received 2 letters for water bill not paid. Yet it is I her husband who pays welsh water . The debt is on a previous address we used to live at . But the debt is said to be at a time we live at our new address. I checked my utility account and I'm in credit over £200.
This company is a fraud/scammer. Be careful when you are approached by them. They sent me a bill of £1300 for an address we don't live in and claiming we have not paid utilita bill. They threatened and harassed us. Having checked this site..we realised that they are doing the same to others too.
This company seems like scammers. I currently receive debt of a property I was not even staying on, my next step will be to contact Thames water so they can tell me how do I have a bill from a property I never lived in. I am still waiting for reply from them after sending my proof of address I was living … let’s see if they will come up with stories, then I will take a legal action.
This company are emailing me for a debt that is not mine with Octopus Energy. Octopus have confirmed they have nothing to do with these crooks and I will be forwarding the email for legal action.
Unfortunately I am unable to give a true score as there is no such thing as a minus. I have today completed my payment schedule and have now received a text to say my payment is late. This company is worse than a stalker. They have no understanding of putting their (I use this term very very loosley) "customers" needs. They do not work in a Trauma informed or person centered way. It's all about the money! They don't care about anything else.
Received a letter from them recently for a water bill dated April 2023 on a property we moved out of in July of 2022. They’re chasing up the wrong person and since it was a student property all of the utilities were included in the rent amount and the landlord paid the bills with that so it’s not our debt. They lie and they threaten legal action and they don’t even have their facts straight

Chasing debt for my elderly vulnerable mother. I’ve gone through her accounts and 100% does not owe the figure quoted. Southern water have been wrongly taking money for an address that has nothing to do with my mother. Disgraceful bully’s

I understand that you have been receiving multiple calls on your personal number regarding a debt that does not exist for the company you work for. This debt was mistakenly sent by another organization, and despite informing UK Search about this error, the calls have continued.
When you reached out to the caller to inquire about the due diligence and checks that had been conducted, they could not provide any information. Moreover, when you requested a subject access request, the advisor was unfamiliar with the concept. To highlight the seriousness of the situation, you asked the advisor how she would feel if a company contacted her employees or colleagues regarding an alleged company debt and provided a list of names found on LinkedIn. She acknowledged that such actions would be considered "threatening". UK Search themselves admit that their tactics can be perceived as threatening.
In light of these experiences, I strongly recommend that everyone submit a complaint to the financial ombudsman. This is the most effective way to hold organizations like UK Search accountable for their actions. Additionally, it is important to note that each complaint filed against the company costs them £560, which further emphasises the significance of taking action.
Only interested in getting money. Even when evidence was supplied proving we were not the people they were looking for, they continued to ask for payment. Dealt with Welsh Water directly and the issue was sorted...yet UK Search continued to request payment. Chief Operating Officer Jon Kirwin is the clueless ringmaster in this circus. No trapeze act, no jugglers, just clowns...loads of clowns. Clowns answering the phones, clowns writing letters, clowns sending emails. If these clowns contact you...go directly to the company they claim they're acting for.
I’ve been being harassed by this company for a debt that’s not even mine it’s for an address I used to live next door to so I never actually lived there, I’ve been living in my current property since 2018 and the debt is apparently for 2023 they keep asking me for evidence that I live where I claim which I have provided and they still have threatened me with bailiffs coming round to my house where I have now had to seek legal advice
Don’t ever use this company there are bullies out and out and like to threaten people for no reason also stay away from learndirect they are useless absolutely no brains in there heads either avoid
I realise everyone hates debt companies so it's no surprise they have a low rating. They're chasing me for a debt that relates to water supply at my address dating to a period before I moved in. I've sent my lease etc so now I'm just going to ignore them - has anyone had any experience with them in court? My wife getting emails regarding southern water when we live in North and she doesn’t have her name on any bills it’s mine
You will never believe what they are doing now. UK Search has chosen to use a "last known address"of a friend out of date by 6 years, to send legal court service, in the knowledge they would never find out, although they had the current address provided to them by Southern Water! It is more than a sharp practice but it is also fraud to hike up their fees! I wonder how many customers are being scammed like this.
Can not discuss the account!
My partner received a phone call today from this company, saying they where calling on behalf of Octopus Energy...he passed the phone to me as I deal with all the utilities, they wouldn't speak to me because I am not named and he would need to pass Data Protection to add me to the account (I advised he wouldn't be giving them any personal details until they tell us what the call is about (rudely said no and put the phone down).
Called Octopus to ask why they gave us a £311 refund when we closed the account if we where in debt - they advised it was a bill which was issued after our final bill in the name of The Occupier not my partners name we have no debt outstanding.
Called this company back to explain and send proof this debt is not ours - my partner tried to go through Data Protection with them and he doesn't pass, confused the call holder advised his year of birth is wrong, I THINK HE KNOWS HIS OWN D.O.B wouldn't discuss the account, so said that's fine Octopus will be contacting you advise his debt is not ours and to stop contacting us.
For the call handler to say 'this won't be the last you hear from us' call all you want we won't pass data protection so you won't discuss it with us anyways.
Spoke to Octopus again and hopefully will resolve this directly, but it not I will take this further, mainly for the attitude of the call centre staff (I appreciate everyone/ systems make mistakes) but to speak to you as you are s**t on their shoes is below the belt.

UKSL pursing a debt that was after I had moved out of a property. With emails documenting I owed nothing from the utility company, UKSL dismiss them & refuse to investigate thoroughly but instead continue to harass for payment.

UKSL should really be more thorough & willing to investigate instead of bully tactics to just receive payments
