I attended a Wedding in Worthing
I attended a Wedding in Worthing. The Pizzas came out perfectly, a lovely golden brown colour. Staff were friendly, and we didn't have to wait too long.
Would highly recommend The Pizza Oven :D

Would highly recommend The Pizza Oven :D
Really disappointed. Had a very burnt pizza, and as they are a ten minute drive for me I didn't return, but the pizza was inedible. They must surely check the underside of the pizza when removing them from the oven, so I can only imagine they were happy to sell me a burnt pizza.
Great company. Really lovely pizzas and the serving staff are always friendly.
I wanted to warn people to think very carefully before dealing with this company.
Myself and my partner attended an event and bought a pretty mediocre pizza with a bit of a mean amount of topping on it.
I happen to know that my friends who dealt with this company had problems with communication and unsatisfactory customer service.
Burnt, tasteless, overpriced pizzas served with a bad attitude...DO NOT Recommend!
A completely shambolic company to be steered well clear of.
I wish I had had the time to read about this company before booking them for my wedding. They were most definitely the last option.
There are quite a few bad reviews about bad customer service and withholding of funds.
Communications from the outset were poor. This alone should have been a red flag .
A week before the wedding, after paying the full balance, I was contacted by the owner , to tell me that it wasn’t really going to be ok for my guests to pay for the pizzas on the night of the wedding, in order for us to be reimbursed for the money we had already put up for 75 pizzas. We negotiated and agreed that it would be better if my guests paid in cash and that’s what I instructed them to do.
This was the plan from the very beginning and they had not told me otherwise until a week before the wedding date. I had made it very clear in emails asking for them to confirm this method of payment .
We then had the wedding , only half the pizzas were sold ( not their fault and we thought that’s ok we will just feed the remaining pizzas to our friends the next day when we are clearing up) after the wedding I had to chase the owner for repayments and was left hanging for two weeks, we were also told that we would be income taxed , vat taxed and credit card taxed on the balance taken and in the end ( after 5 days of unpleasant email exchange ) received, extremely begrudgingly a quarter of the money back. The cash was also not encouraged on the night . There was no proof of cash taken or pizza sales The whole thing was a complete nightmare!
The tone and attitude of the owner is unacceptable and I would strongly recommend going with any other pizza van company for your special event. It is just not worth it.
The fact that the owner, a woman called Lisa Aitken has given her own company 5 stars and an awesome review on this thread is also a pretty massive red flag!
I am very upset that I had to deal with this unpleasant business owner, it wasn’t even about the money in the end. We were happy to write the whole thing off if need be but it was the way she communicated with me, after my wedding which really put a dark smudge on what was such a beautiful and joy filled day. I hope that others read this and think twice about investing any money or time with them.
We had decided to use The Pizza Oven, Ewhurst to cater for our evening guests at our upcoming wedding. We had enjoyed their pizzas in the past and knew the business owner locally.
The Pizza Oven asked us to secure our booking with a 50% deposit, which at no point on the written invoice or communication, was stated as non-refundable.
We paid the deposit straight away, 18 months before our wedding date.
After a very sad set of events beyond our control, 9 months before the wedding, which had cost us thousands, we had to sadly cancel our wedding.
I contacted The Pizza Oven straight away and she was very sympathetic. She readily agreed to refund our deposit in full as we had given them plenty of notice and we were local customers.
I was asked to send over my bank details which I did straight away.
After a few weeks, I had not received the refund so I contacted The Pizza Oven via email to ask if everything was ok and I sent over my bank details again, in case they had not been received.
I heard nothing back from her.
Over the next few months, myself and my partner tried to contact her via email, text messages and phone calls but all were in vain with no response.
We just wanted to know if there had been a change in circumstances. If that was the case, then we should have been informed and we would have understood.
It soon became very apparent that we were not going to get our deposit refund as promised.
The Pizza Oven continued to ignore us and we were left to draw our own conclusions.
It is a shame that we have had such a negative experience with this local business, especially as we were looking forward to having them cater for our evening wedding guests.
Communication was terrible and the way that we were treated was shocking.
We will not be using or recommending this business ever again.
Had the pizza oven for a our wedding and they were perfect just what the guests needed. Food was served on time staff were amazing and catered for the 7 guests we had with allergies. Price was good and the pizzas were spot on highly recommend. We will be booking them again for my wife's birthday and also visiting their local pitch aswell
Awful communication. We tried to get in touch by email, Facebook, Instagram and finally Whatsapp over several weeks before we received any reply. After letting them know how difficult it had been to get a response, they were dismissive. They claimed there were issues with their email but wouldn’t send test emails through when requested to try and make this method of communication work.
When my husband explained their lack of communication had caused us to have to look at other caterers and that as I am autistic, this had caused several meltdowns, The Pizza Oven were dismissive again and referred to this as me “having issues”.
I had tried communicating on Instagram in a desperate attempt to have them reply and when communication was still patchy at best I commented requesting a refund. For this The Pizza Oven decided instead of actually addressing the problems they were causing, to block me. It’s not clear if they blocked me before or after they were told I was autistic.
When choosing toppings, we deliberately asked for just chicken and onion and they replied changing it to a version they have on their menu which includes pesto. Thankfully we are diligent and noticed or we would have served our 4 guests with nut allergies pine nuts. We had let The Pizza Oven know about these allergies in our booking form but they didn’t seem to ever refer to this as they continued to ask questions that were answered in the booking form. Just getting them to confirm they understood the gravity of this and to not include pesto was difficult. Given how blasé they seemed about some details, it was unfortunately necessary to have them confirm this and another unnecessary stress they caused.
Given the way they treated us, we tried to see if they would offer us a refund to allow us to book somewhere that wouldn’t treat us as The Pizza Oven had already treated us.
While the pizza was good, the dreadful communication and the attitude they seem to have towards autistic people make them a company to avoid at all costs.
Oh and I've just found out from my mum that they turned up with no idea of where to go despite me sending 3 detailed photos and instructions of where to park to avoid this. Couldn't organise a p*ss up in a brewery
Amazing pizza, amazing service & catered for 5 people very quickly with no stress. Thanks again!
Cant't understand the other reviews unless there are people with grudges.... Had a superb pizza at Storrington this evening, 5 minute wait.
Cued at an event for 20mins only to get to the front and be told they weren’t taking anymore orders.
Nice of them to let you know they weren’t taking more orders because they wanted to go at 8pm obviously made enough money already!
Awful. Queued for 15 mins to be served, told 20 mins wait for pizza, still waiting almost 50 minutes later...with two hangry kids in tow.
Stop taking orders if you can't make the pizza quick enough, and don't take people's money based on a lie.
Steer clear and get some Thai food instead. In fact, a sweaty burger would probably be a better bet.
Just actually received the pizza so have come back to edit my review. The pizza itself isn't worth the wait. Awful. Undercooked and about a third of it had no mozzarella on it.
Wait time was really bad told me 20mins and took an 1.5 hours!!!pizza was raw in the middle and burnt on the outside the centre of the pizza had a hole in the middle hygiene was bad saw him cough into his hand then touch the ingredients also the food prep area was covered in bits of food including meat which as a vegetarian I didn't like. Very aggressive staff with terrible attitude problem. Would give them a -5*if I could
2 x pizzas from here at Bramley, were sick as dogs afterwards.
Should have gone with our instinct when we noticed what filthy hands the chef had, that will teach us!
Wouldn’t recommended atall.
Seriously doubt the food hygiene. They crashed into our vehicle whilst stopped at a red light clearly under the influence of drugs and smoking them inside the vehicle where food is stored and prepared, have since not settled the repair bill regardless of promising to do so - I can honestly say I wouldn’t buy their pizzas again.
I would also question their food hygiene if they are handling and consuming drugs the the pizza oven vehicle and handling food.
They have also since removed the ability to comment on their posts so are attempting to hide- a dishonest and unpleasant way to carry out a business.
Am still trying to get them to reimburse me for the cost of the repair for the damage to my vehicle 18months ago but the Owner is very very unpleasant and dishonest.
