It felt as though we were staying in a shed. Plastic wood was wrapped around the room to give it a wooden chalet feel , and all of the furniture has been picked up from charity shops for nothing I would guess.
It was very dark everywhere and was like Holister - needed my phone light to read the menu
The saving grace of the room was the bedding and beautiful pillows and the buffet breakfast which was wonderful. Dinner was overpriced and underwhelming,
Sadly we won’t be coming back and will stick to Watergate Bay in future.

For the Pig near Bath. I’d been recommended a visit here and heard good things about The Pig dining so booked my friends 40th birthday dinner here. I phoned in advance to let them know it was a special birthday celebration and they said they’d make the visit special - they did nothing to make it special sadly which was really disappointing. The staff were inattentive for somewhere meant to be so nice. Food overall was good and that’s why I’ve given 3 stars rather than 2. We felt rushed as we got asked if we wanted to sit in the lounge and eat our desserts as they clearly needed the table back we felt we had to. We got sat in two arm chairs apart from each other with another couple sat in between us which wasn’t the most comfortable experience. There’s far better places to go if you want somewhere special.

Autumn lunch deal at the Pig in Studland. Great location however the dining space is crammed. Menu is good but add-ons including donation added when having water and the service charge make for a more costly deal!

Service was slow and not as attentive as would be expected considering the number of staff.

Three word review! Pretentious, overpriced, underwhelming. Overcooked chewy pigeon (but thankfully £16 worth was only two mouthfuls)! Bream was over salted! Pork loin was over 50% unrendered inedible fat! Venison was ok but again overcooked! A very disappointing birthday celebration!

The prices are way too high for what it offers to be honest. The menu is limited and it’s too expensive. I mean the food was ok, but it’s not a Michelin star restaurant really. The service charge was ridiculous too. And if you go there for dinner you can’t see anything in that car park seriously ?!

We had a meal at the Pig Studland last night. The staff were courteous and welcoming and the food good.
My only concern was having asked for tap water we were charged for water that had been bottled on the premises. The waitress did offer to remove the charge but given the legal requirement to provide tap water this default position of such a prestigious hotel to charge seemed odd.

Great stay and Fern was especially amazing. Such a wonderful and helpful member of the team.

Had a beyond brilliant stay at The Pig at Bridge Place! The grounds are spectacular inside and out, with incredible attention to detail. Beautiful snugs and cosy areas, and our room topped them all with stunning views of the grounds, a huge soft bed and comfy sofa, and a waterfall shower you could spend hours in! The staff were warm and attentive, particularly Sophie! We were happy with the restaurant too, beautifully light and inviting, and the food was lovely - particularly the leek risotto! Overall a lovely place to make you feel luxurious whilst feeling so at home!

As soon as we arrived the staff were smiling, helpful and couldn't do enough for us,but also recognised the importance of giving you time to settle at your table before asking for our order..our waitress izzey was amazing and made our experience even better.The food was excellent.. I would recommend the roast the,cod and beetroot starter. We will certainly be giving family gift vouchers for birthdays and Xmas so they can experience our very special lunch. The weather was sunny so after lunch we sat in the garden looking over the South downs. Thank you the pig we will return.

We went to The Pig near Bath, and what a wonderful experience. The atmosphere, the food, everything was perfect. It was to celebrate a birthday and was a first time using this chain.

I would 100% recommend and will go back! I plan on visiting some of the other sites next!

My husband and I recently stayed at The Pig in the South Downs, on the 8th and 9th of April to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience. The setting was breath taking, our room was a fantastic size suite with its own lovely little courtyard. The food was delicious. The most wonderful thing, however were the staff. They were polite, friendly, extremely helpful ,and made us feel special, and welcome. The manager, a highly efficient woman, was incredibly professional. and totally aware of everything that needed to be attended to at the the hotel, even the smallest detail, she helped make beautiful occasion perfect.
The only complaint we had, was that due to commitments, we were unable to stay longer!

We returned this week for a very happy visit to the Pig in the South Downs having gone there shortly after it opened last year.

The location is stunning: calm, secluded, magical.

The Pig Hotel house design style is, as always, quirky and charming and wholly beguiling.

The staff are brilliant. It was my wife's birthday and they definitely made her feel special.

We again chose the Apple Store for our room and it is a cosy and private delight, nestled in the far corner of the hotel’s magnificent kitchen garden with its amazing 100 year old apple trees.

We are big fans of the Pig Hotel and have paid many visits to what must surely be its jewel in the crown, the Pig on the Beach with its truly breathtaking views over Studland Bay.

The Pig Hotel food is not necessarily fantastic but always well-intentioned, the service is always enthusiastic but not always without flaw, and it is definitely not an experience for anyone on a limited budget. But overall it’s an experience that you just keep wanting to come back to time after time.

The Pig Hotels do almost everything just right. Good for them!

Visited the Pig few times in New Forest and once at Bridge. Our family adores the food and cocktails. The atmosphere is great in a main restaurant, but to have a drink or dessert in the bar area is just perfect - so cosy and relaxing. Service always was great. We are looking forward to come back again, or visit other The Pig sites.

Visited The Pig in Studland for lunch and we were very disappointed. The menu uninspiring, the food below average and very overpriced. The best part was the location which is stunning.

Waited along time for our booking but the wait was worth it. The food is excellent, absolutely everything very tasty and good portions. Service was also very good and all staff friendly and polite. Will definitely return.

Had the most fantastic stay here at this cute hotel!

Second time I have eaten lunch here. Not so good this time round but still lovely. Repeat pork chop- not nearly so good as first time round. Lovely to see local young people working here and they were super attentive and polite. This is a lovely setting with a really relaxed vibe. Even the musak was to my liking - and that's saying something. My friends had excellent food. Never thought I'd see pollok more expensive than crab! Would I go again? YES! I'd choose something different next time from their extensive menu though. I think a "bar" menu is also available.
Walk around the policies and see next week's meal!!
Choose the weather and sit outside. Lovely.

Took my mother to the Pig at Harlyn Bay for lunch for her birthday and we could not have been looked after any better. The staff were wonderful with helping my elderly mother who is disabled and made her feel very welcome and comfortable after months of lockdown. The food was wonderful, the outdoor courtyard very comfortable and the staff were truly amazing. Many, many thanks to you all for the wonderful job that you are doing.

Excellent service. Excellent food. Went the extra mile.
