NEVER GO HERE
I visited this place after being a customer for several years buying phone accessories to have my hard drive connection fixed as it was faulty. I was charged £35 for this and trusted them with a drive which has over 5 years of information on it - music, photos, etc. They contacted me a few days later advising I would need to pay almost £300 for 'data recovery'. I was extremely alarmed by this and advised I would collect my drive and have it seen to myself. Sadly it took me a while to look into data recovery as I thought it would be relatively easy - when I did this several months later I was shocked and alarmed to find ALL MY DATA GONE. When I approached them for an explanation, they have been rude, unhelpful, uncaring and unprofessional. I am still awaiting a resolution to my issue after visiting the shop several times to explain the issue, being fobbed off by rude staff advising me to speak with the Manager and then the Manager also fobbing me off telling me they do work for the BBC! I have no idea what that has to do with the negligent, uncaring, unprofessional service I received - not sure if that was used as some sort of justification for what they did to my data but I would not recommend ANYONE bring anything valuable to this shop EVER. I am in the process of reporting them to Trading Standards as they fraudulently stole my data expecting me to pay hundreds of pounds for recovery, fail to acknowledge this and have done NOTHING to help me. I will NEVER visit this shop again and I am expecting a FULL REFEND and COMPENSATION for the loss of my valuable, irreplaceable data. Outrageous service. If I could award zero stars I would. I am in the process of commencing legal action.

Thank you for your correspondence. We acknowledge your concerns regarding the outcome of the hard drive diagnostic and data recovery assessment.
For the avoidance of doubt, the hard drive in question was collected more than one year ago. During two separate visits to our store, you were advised that the drive showed signs of data corruption and that any attempt at recovery would require Level 3 Data Recovery. At that time, we provided a quotation of £235 plus VAT (20%), along with an alternative recovery option priced at £282. These quotations were in line with, and in many cases lower than, comparable industry rates.
As previously explained, despite this advice, you elected to seek an alternative approach elsewhere. Where data corruption is present, the use of a SATA enclosure alone is not a viable recovery method, as such cases require specialised recovery procedures and equipment.
When the drive was initially received, it was confirmed to be non-functional. Accordingly, a £35 diagnostic fee was charged to cover the assessment and testing required to determine the condition of the drive and to advise on appropriate recovery options. This service was provided in full.
Having reviewed the matter, and in consideration of the time elapsed, the condition of the device, and the services already rendered, we confirm that no refund or compensation is due in this case.
This correspondence constitutes our final position on the matter. Should you require clarification regarding the diagnostic findings or the recovery process previously outlined, we remain available to provide further explanation.
