Tempest Graduations Recensioni 

I graduated from UoM 10 years ago and now again recently - graduation photography has improved beyond recognition with Tempest photography. The process was so slick from queueing for photos, taking multiple photos with family, selecting the best ones, paying, buying amazing frames, and picking up on the day ceremony shots. Was as slick as Amazon Prime!

Tempest Photography are contracted by The Holt School in Wokingham. They took a photograph og my daughter and when we ordered '1 large print' for £18. To our dismay we received a 17cm x 20cm "piece of paper" with the photo printed - the quality of this paper was so poor that it is not worth even £1. And also accompanying this paper with photo was a seperate cardboard. They couldn't even bother pasting this paper photo onto the cardboard to make it at least a bit presentable. I have photographs taken from my mobile phone and printed and framed which is much (a lot) cheaper but looks more attractive! (We only ordered a copy as we wanted to keep a memory of my daughter for her year at the school).
I cannot believe that they call themselves as 'Professional Photographers'. I will be contacting the school management to cancel their contract and avoid them like a plague!

Pictures arrived uncut and not mounted. As a reply to my email about it, they said they wanted to be quick with the delivery and also is was more safe during transport. This answer insulted me on so many levels. Would definitely not recomend them. Probably getting the digital version and printing somewhere else would have been a wiser option.

Absolutely shocking prices, and for the amount of photos taken on the day they are making a killing. There isn't even any "big bundle" discounts. You're only allowed to chose 2 images in their biggest bundle, we don't all want the same photo 6 times, you're printing them anyway, so allow for at least 3-4, and to charge over £30 for a frame is a joke! Uni's need to think again before finding the most scam photography company to save some money, not all families have the privilege to afford these prices!

Just got my sons stage graduation photo, half the photo is taken up by the big screen that was on the stage. Poor positioning. The least that could have been done was to appropriately crop it.

Terrible experience. Very scamy. I cannot believe I paid almost £90 for such terrible prints and mediocre photos. I also bought the digital files and they charged twice but sent them on a single stick (way to make money I suppose). Bad customer service, too, with unhelpful representatives lacking proper information, and slow delivery. I can make better prints on my home Canon :))))

The photos were not great and we weren’t happy after seeing them. They didn’t allow you to pose naturally or how u felt comfortable posing so the photos all look very forced and really not flattering. The prices were extortionate for what it was and then added on top was another £6 for shipping which then took a month to arrive. I got two photos for £60 not in frames or anything - just medium photos. The fact that this was the only professional picture opportunity and with that price is very disappointing and I think universities should definitely change from tempest to a better company.

The print quality is absolutely terrible. The brightest parts of the images seem to be "blown out" i.e. washed out.

The paper quality is also not what I expected.

As others have also mentioned here, universities PLEASE change your photography partner.

Also worth noting that Tempest have two trust-pilot pages - both equally dire. Was the 2nd one created to start afresh to try and distance yourself from the first one ? If so, it's not worked.

When I go online to see sons graduation photographs - only two are his and others are someone else's, can't access any others though the area says there are more.
when i contacted they fail to reply. Useless company - should not be allowed to be exclusive photographers when all they do is ruin students experience!!

Terrible doesn't even begin to describe their service. You're only allowed to pose the way the photographer tells you to, they take literally only 5-6 pics MAX, show you some blurry pics on paper (NOT on their camera which has a much better screen quality) and send you away because there's other ppl waiting to take pictures. Then you go to their website and are forced to pick 2 pictures (at most) even with the most expensive packs. Out of 5-6. If you don't want their scammy physical prints but a digital file instead, hahah f*** you, you have to buy the physical pictures anyway, so you can get ONE digital picture for £17 (I don't think you can get more even if you want to, but maybe i'm wrong on this one). In case you're ok with their offers and you want to buy all 5-6 pictures, you can't even do that lmao. You just have to pick the best 2, which you can't even tell if they're good in the first place because you can't preview the pictures in good quality on the website. Sigh...

Apart from the service being incredibly overpriced, not one photo has come out decently. I was not allowed to change pose or put my hair as I wanted to because the photographer kept moving it as according to him you could not see my face. I was hoping that on my graduation day I would have at least one photo of myself that I liked, but out of 5 photos, not one has come out decently. I should have ignored the instruction and posed as I wanted to, maybe that way I would have a nice memory from such an important day.

All I wanted was to buy the actual files of the images, no need for a ridiculously expensive print in an overpriced frame. There is no option to do this, you have to pay an insane price to buy prints of which it isn't actually said on the website if you get digital copies. This is an outright scam and it is discraceful that Universities allow these charlatans a monopoly on grad pictures. Not to mention the photographer had me do this weird poses and was rather rude when I took a picture without doing the strange tilt down she made me do. The only ones that look decent are where I ignored this strange instruction.

I was hoping my graduation pics would be reasonably priced, but no!
Charges £90 for just 2 pics.

The service provided by Tempest at graduations I’ve been to is first class. Very quick service, great photos and the staff are all so welcoming. Would thoroughly recommend them for other graduations and events.

On the day of my graduation the team were amazing. They were quick to process everyone’s photos and made sure we were aware of all the different types of frames and mounts they had on offer. A special shout-out goes to Natalie who was so welcoming and had the whole organisation of things on lock.

Have gone to two graduations at Cambridge that were being done by Tempest and must say they are one of the best photographers around. The photos came out amazing, lovely staff, and really quick service. We had the pleasure of talking to Natalie on the day who was great at showing us the different products available and made everything super easy. 10/10 would recommend !!

Graduated twice at USW and both occasions with Tempest Photography. Photographer I had was very friendly and professional, really made me smile and resulted in great photos!

A lot of the negative reviews relate to pricing which is not actually solely down to the company - a friend of mine that works in the university has informed me that the university gets a very hefty commission! I blame the universities for the prices, the company itself is professional and great customer service. Received all images within two months and as I understand it, my £6 postage ensured my images were insured and covered against damage and loss so that replacements wouldn't cost. Highly rate this company 👌

On site, photographers were great. The experience ordering pictures is abysmal as their website is absolutely horrifically bad. First, the images do not load and i needed to chase up support. Their billing system is so sketchy my antivirus flags it and says not to use it. Due to terrible website design, it doesnt actually tell you if you are ordering a picture in the right orientation, which is a problem when you want to order landscape pictures and have no idea if you are getting the right one or of the crap website is putting you down for the wrong one. Also, you cant even use the same account if you had a previous graduation, as there is no place on the website to register new photos. However in billing, it doesnt allow you to use the same email address as your old account.

This is GCSE computer science tier mistakes. Throw this whole website away and go to squarespace...
