I pay for stv player to avoid the ads not just one or two, 15 Minutes every 1hr program ,I would accept if the app worked...why do we have watch this terrible service that stops, freezes and the just throws you out mid program? I use itvx but can't get itv one ... If STV thinks they are supplying a bespoke service read the reviews . That the problem there not bothered ....

The STV player truly is one of the worst apps and it's shameful that the people of Scotland and beyond have to endure this.
STV gained a ton of new viewers because of Brookside and because this is the only place to watch then they don't care about improving the app experience.
Navigating is terrible, it's so glitchy, unstable and even trying to pause a program turns into a drama.
It's not very intuitive and never remembers what I've previously watched.
Oh and don't get me started about the ads but i was lucky to get a 3 month ad free promotion which definitely helped with avoiding the ads.
If it wasn't for Brookside then I wouldn't be using this app ever!

Content is ok but the ad fest is terrible, if you even pause a programme you're in for another 4 minutes of ads.

Basically useless, shameful to release it as it is.

1 star is one too many.
It is terrible, the worst piece of rubbish in the history of streaming services. The only thing that works on it are adverts, are there are lots of them. Then you get the pink circle going round and round. Forget watching any sports, political debates, or anything else 'live' as you'll have better luck watching the exciting bits on Twitter or TikTok. Avoid it like the plague. ITVX does work, and hopefully Scotland can get rid of STV and just have ITV, that way folk in Scotland might get a Channel 3 service that works.

Tried for over an hour to catch up with last week's soaps and I can't get passed the first ads to even start the programme

understand ads are part of the package but the same ones over and over throughout a series ? Naw, will need to pass if this doesn’t change

We have always had trouble with stv player but now we can't view anything on it! I would give it 0 if I could or minus even. Worst streaming service ever

Tried to stream “Red Eye” tonight using STV Player. Absolutely awful.
I get as far as opening the first episode but nothing happens, just a black screen.

Why can’t we just watch these things on ITV X in Scotland? STV Player is not delivering and if I was an advertiser, I would be looking elsewhere.

STV player is not fit for purpose. I cannot download the app to my tv and I cannot stream content to my tv. If I could give it zero stars, I would. Are these reviews even read by STV executives? The rating is so poor yet it seems nothing is done about it.

I’ve set up a subscription to STV+ but I’ve wasted my money. It has made no difference to the vast number of ads on catch-up. I’ve followed advice given by support but nothing changes. I feel I’ve been robbed!

Poor quality picture and sound on stv player.

Truly scandalous that Scotland had to use the worst streaming app on the planet. STV should be ashamed of themselves for asking their customers to use such a poor product. Their own standards and ambitions are clearly extremely low and projects a "we really don't care" attitude. Pity you can't give negative ratings

We wanted to watch Betrayal on STV but after 3 episodes and a deluge of adverts we decided to try the subscription version however, there were ads for McDonalds. It’s either ad free or it isn’t!
There are too many good streaming services available to waste our time on this one.

So frustrating. Keeps freezing, replays the adverts over again. Won't restart from where it left off. This has been a problem for years with no attempt to sort it out. I don't understand why we can't get itvx just because we are in Scotland. The same adverts over and over again. Just a nightmare.

So I pay for ITVX now I am expected to pay for STV.
Living in Scotland is like living in an expensive third rate hotel.

The absolute channel for catchup TV. I have signed in so many times and trying to rewind if you miss something nightmare! Rewind and get punted out and start all over again from the beginning of the episode. You can wind forward but not through the adds. To skip adds you have to pay a premium.
The programs provided are fine it’s just the service that’s rubbish!

Used to be so good loved it for brookside noticed maybe 6,7 weeks ago it had been updated with a new look since then disaster won't remember place on series or continue watching crashes with various bugs several times an episode.
Won't let me install the app on another TV by not letting me log in ,absolute waste of time ,given the dreadful reviews on this forum and the total lack of any response ,I can only assume at. Are fully aware of these issues but simply can't or won't fix them.

I am so angry at having my time wasted by this awful service is. Why any advertiser would wish to use such an awful platform is completely beyond me. STV seems to think that it is acceptable to blast customers with so many adverts for us to then discover that the program being delivered is the program that was broadcast an hour ago,after three attempts I gave up and when to ITV. In the time that it has taken me to write this review it has crashed three times, why would anyone want watch programming on this platform when it is constantly interrupted? Being the good citizen I will be passing this review on to their advertisers. It's only fair that they know how few potential customers they are not reaching using this awful platform.

Terrible! Annoying to watch anything. It kept freezing after ads and every time it reloaded it would give me more ads.
