Rubbish. Trying to watch world cup and every game buffers constantly. Only app to do this. Embarrassingly bad.

Giving 1 star is too high, unfortunately I can’t award 0 stars.
The player is awful, it constantly buffers when streaming live (World Cup football) but the adverts always play perfectly
(and no it’s not my internet connection as all other players / apps work just fine).
If you do choose to watch one of the programmes available, then it’s very likely that your programme will stall / stop / blank screen, you’ll have to exit to re-set and then have the pleasure of watching all of the same adverts again (that stream perfectly).
I choose not to use the player unless I have no option….like the World Cup!

stv.tv site not working a Scottish mess as usual.
I cannot reset my password on its official site. Will not let me.
Had to reset my channel 4 with instalment of password no problems with that. Site similar to stv

The App, stv.tv. You can expect the unexpectable. Shame on you stv.tv get your act together.
I hope I can get this problem fixed now waiting on staff at stv to help me get this problem fixed.

Constant problems with app freezing after playing ads. Tried signing out and back in but same issues. It’s not my internet.

Terrible website. It freezes often, adverts are too long, and it slows down and freezes my whole laptop if I try to leave it. Rubbish buggy website. Stick to watching things via the telly.

Close this broadcaster down. Terrible

Ally McCoist is the worst commentator I have ever heard, I now watch with the sound off. STV must get rid if him.

I'd give zero stars if I could. STV Player has to be the worst streaming service ever.
Trying to watch World Cup live games - what a joke, endless adverts, control bar not working, keeps glitching and buffering, restarting - ads again.. Unbelievably s***. Missed both Norway goals, and Brazil goal last night..!
STV should NEVER be allowed to 'stream' live major sporting events ever again. BBC = first class; ITV = excellent; STV = you'd be better watching in Afghanistan on a potato..! Embarrassingly pathetic.

SUCKS - should not be allowed to stream the world cup. Glitches, Crashes, kills my browser. Bad infrastructure and IT !!!@

1080p coverage of world cop that's 2005 bbc up it to 4k second point the streaming service always buffering not they will say it's you service but not so all other 4k services working fine so a lies

Missed the Netherlands vs Morocco live game so thought I'd catch it here. Wrong! The game is unwatchable because of the constant buffering. I thought this might only be my problem but looking at all the other negative reviews, I can see that I'm not alone. The other thing that is really annoying are the constant adds for McDonald's and Uber Eats, which destroy the flow of the game. Dreadful player. Why can't we just watch it on ITVX?

STV player for watching live stream of World Cup is simply awful, continuously crashing, buffering or the sound is off. I’ve contacted customer service but had no response. Why can’t we just have ITVX.

Looking at the other review it looks like we are stuck with this rubbish!

Totally ruining the World Cup experience! Why do we need an STV player? Answer: Scottish advertising money but the site is no better than a scam. Ditch it and give us ITVX.!!

I am unable to use the app on my TV because, after using it for about a year, it started to demand a child protection pin before I could watch anything. After a long email dialogue with user support, they said they were "unable to replicate the issue" and would "pass this across to the team as feedback". Their advice - to "use and alternative platform", which for me amounts to a smartphone

Constant buffering on a stable internet connection is simply unacceptable. We should have the option of using ITVX in Scotland.

Simply, completely rubbish

STV have VAR (Christina Unkel) she is the worst VAR commentator STV will ever have, direct free kick Canada had against Qatar “when the referee showed yellow card and said it was penalty, she said, she had a look and it is a correct decision and it is a yellow card” then the referee change it after VAR, THE REFEREE SAID IT A DIRECT FREE KICK AND ITS A RED CARD, guess what Christna say after “ yes that is the correct decision, after I had look from different angles it looked the foul fen outside the box and it’s the right decision and it is a red card.
Where do you get this female VAR OMG.

What can be said that hasn’t already? All adverts play without issue but the actual “entertainment” you're using the platform for constantly buffers, digitises and stalls which makes the experience very frustrating.

Watching live events like the World Cup is beyond bad and even more infuriating is that there doesn’t appear to be any willingness on the part of STV to address any of the viewing issues. They clearly couldn’t give a rodent’s rectum about their viewers as their actual “customers” commercials play frequently and flawlessly. If it weren’t for having no alternative regarding viewing certain events i.e. the World Cup, I would have the app deleted and consigned to the annuls of bad memories.

This Player is garbage. God forbid you try to rewind it 30 secs, Ads that you have already watched. Basically once you get what you want, never touch it again. every button press will get you an ad.

They never show England International football games, including last nights World Cup match against Croatia. Is this just blatant racism? It's always the same........nothing changes, yet there is no racism against the Scots in England. So disappointing to have lived in Scotland for 30 years and had to put up with this.
