Great customer service and fast communication
I ordered a pair of sunglasses from SmartBuyGlasses while I was traveling in Dubai for New Year and initially requested delivery to my hotel. They informed me that the item needed to be ordered from the supplier and would take some time.
What I really appreciated was how smoothly they handled the situation. They changed the delivery address to my home country, Maldives, completely free of charge. I received my sunglasses in approximately 22 days, which was reasonable considering the circumstances.
What I liked most about SmartBuyGlasses is their fast and clear communication via email. They kept me informed throughout the process, which made the experience stress-free. Overall, I’m happy with the service and would recommend them.

Return policies that change after checkout
The return and exchange process was not handled transparently. Requirements were introduced only after the issue arose, despite not being clearly stated at the time of purchase. I was encouraged to reorder and return items without assurance that a refund would be processed. This experience resulted in a complete loss of trust, and I will not buy from this company again.

I understand why this hasn't been very clear, and I appreciate the chance to clarify.
A valid prescription is required when providing lenses, especially for contact lenses. Contact lenses sit directly on the eyes and are considered a medical device. Because of this, optical laws require a valid prescription before issuing replacements or changes. The same requirement can also apply to eyeglasses, depending on the situation.
When an order is placed online, and prescription details are entered manually, that serves as confirmation from the customer that the information provided is correct. However, once a replacement or correction is requested, we’re legally required to verify the prescription to make sure everything is safe and accurate.
This isn’t an isolated policy or a rule we apply selectively. It’s a standard requirement across the optical industry, and we’re obligated to follow it.
