I was dreading dealing with the insurance process from a recent incident at one of our Airbnb properties. To my shock and awe, this was actually a truly pleasant experience. Screenshots of documentation and a few emails and it was done! Literally 10-15 minutes of my time. Matthew was great and the process was more than simple compared to my other experiences with insurance companies. A+++!

Sam Carlisle was great, knowledgeable, in all aspects and reason y this insurance was needed. I also wanted to get insurance same day and within 2 hours I had it. Gave up on another company who kept fumbling the ball if you will.

At the end of 2022, I decided that I would like to start to rent my second home in Vermont. Little did I know that the search for an insurance company was going to be an unbelievably difficult task. Each company I contacted seemed to have quirky exclusions, some required unique alterations before insuring me, (e.g. a security system must be installed with alarms for all windows ---I have 47 in the house!) and others were just plain obtuse or unresponsive. After several months and MANY hours researching potential insurers, I came across Proper. From the beginning, the experience with them was 180 degrees from what I had experienced with the other carriers.

To a person, they were clear, open, honest, responsive and team oriented. Taylor Stults, the agent on my account was especially attentive and helpful. I explained my situation and she carefully went through each of my options, explaining them in terms I could clearly understand. I can’t say enough good things about her. Before signing the final policy, I ran it by my insurance broker who I use for my primary residence and other insurance needs. He has been in the business for many years and is known for his very conservative approach to limiting risk exposure for his clients. His feedback --- “It’s an outstanding policy, Donna---comprehensive, clear and thorough! You really can’t do better.”

This year I received my renewal quote. The premium had increased and rather than hiding that fact, Proper upfront offered a clear and concise explanation of why. Once again, I reached out to Taylor and she helped me sort out what coverage I should clearly maintain to meet my specific goals/needs, and what optional items might be eliminated that would reduce my premium but not add substantial risk to me. I clearly feel like it’s a partnership and I’m being well taken care of.

I would highly recommend Proper Insurance to anyone looking for exceptional coverage, at a reasonable cost, with superior customer service. Truly ---they stand out in the industry!

I had delays on listing my property because of some structural issues of the property that had to be fixed and impacted by long construction delay. I have informed them several times that the house was still not ready and they cancelled my insurance. when I am now ready to list the property they offered me the same insurance with 27% increase for the same policy, and blaming the inflation when in 2023 the inflation has nothing to do with it because all other companies I talked with gave me a much lower quote at the same conditions. they do not care about their clients, just want to make every penny out of you

Our adjuster was Matthew Stewart and he was great to work with! Was easy to talk to, reasonable and stood in our corner through the entire claims process. Really happy with Proper!

We just took out Proper Insurance for our vacation rental property. I can’t speak yet to the insurance from a claim perspective, but I can say that the service I received in setting up the policy with Taylor Stults at Proper was superb! What an excellent company. Their staff are out of the park friendly, always facilitating and of course very professional.
