Beware- they broke my unit’s doors.


I placed an order for delivery of two vintage Habitat kitchen units. Each cost £600.

Unfortunately, the sink unit's doors were not attached to the base. When I enquired as to why the doors were no longer attached I was told that the delivery men had had to remove them to ease the removal. The doors on the other unit were insitu and not an issue.

When we came to refit the doors, after the men had departed, we discovered that the doors had not been removed but had in fact been broken off. The hinges had been catastrophically snapped off thus the doors could not be reattached. This can only have happened during the delivery service, and something they knew had happened.

I have tried to locate some replacement hinges, they are a distinct style, but this has not been possible. The doors will now have to be refitted with hinges that do not match the rest of the units, something that I find unacceptable due to the asthetics. They simply will not match and will be quite obviously different.

Proovia’s communications in response have been slow. I have been waiting for 2 weeks to my last email.

They have offered to refund the delivery cost but not the unit. They state the hinges are replaceable- which they are not.

Beware, I’m out of pocket by some £600.

Sabin was great

Sabin was great. He called before arriving, checked out the route before moving our table into the house, then moved with lots of care. Very polite and friendly.
