I've been with Planet Home Lending since shortly after I purchased my home. A few weeks ago I decided to call them about my refinance options. I spoke with Chris, who went over my options with me. With his help and wealth of knowledge, we decided on their Streamline option. The process was quick and easy and Chris & Naomi helped me every step of the way.

Overall a smooth refinance. Had a few issues but it was handled immediately. The communication was great during the process.

We are trying to rebuild a disabled veterans' home after a total loss fire. We are at 85% completion and have not been paid since we are in the 40% range. During the process, Planet Mortgage bought this loan and took over the nearly $200K in Insurance proceeds. For the last 6 weeks, we have been repeatedly giving them the Documents they have asked for to get the money released, only for them to say they do not have them. The Veteran is about to be homeless because we cannot finish the house without being paid. They DO NOT CARE AND WILL NOT DO THEIR JOB! We will have to file a lien and force the veteran to sell the home because we have to pay the bills on the property. Planet Homes allegedly has the money, but they will not release it to the homeowner, no matter how many times we provide the documentation. It makes me wonder if they actually have the money. I hope you will consider another, more reputable Mortgage company, as Planet Homes likes to cheat Veterans out of their money.

The refinancing process with Erik and Planet Home Lending was explained by Erik and very few documents were required to get the process started. If there's no other loans attached to your refinancing, such as home improvent loans with other lenders, this is quick and takes just a few weeks. Erik keep me informed through the process from the beginning to closing. Erik and his team at Planet Home Lending were friendly And informativ. I would highly recommend Erik and PHL for your refinancing needs.

My overall experience with the loan process with Plant Home Lending was stress free and easy. My loan representative Kristen did all the hard work by communicating with us on a consistent basis ensuring that every phase of the process was explained in detail and would ensure that anything that we needed or had questions with resolved prior to moving on to the final process. I would recommend this lender and most of all Kristen.

Brie was phenomenal to work with. She had all the answers to my questions and concerns and led me in the right direction with things I needed to have.

Planet Home Lending and Richie made the refinancing process simple and smooth. Not only did Richie answer all of my questions, and secure me a great rate, he even showed up for my closing! I would highly recommend them.

Erik's knowledge of the process and reasoning behind refinancing was affirming and reassuring. I didnt feel like I had someone who was asking me to blindly "sign here" but took the time for explanations and wasn't rushing me but was patient when I needed extra time before moving forward. His quick turnaround of response was also a large factor in my confidence moving forward. Finally, the notaries he had sent to my home were thorough in making sure I was aware of the contract I was signing. I felt he had a good and thorough team.

Matt made the refinance process very easy through his correspondence, attention to details and timely follow up. I highly recommend Matt...this is the third time Matt has taken care of our loan.

I am extremely disappointed with Planet Home Lending and the complete lack of accountability shown by their team. My experience with them has been nothing but frustrating and unprofessional.

Recently, I discovered—on my own—that my mortgage payment was about to double due to an issue with my property taxes. What’s most upsetting is that no one from Planet Home Lending even contacted me to inform me of such a major change. I only found out because I happened to log in to my account while making other updates. When I called to ask about it, their response was, “We were going to call you.” That is unacceptable for a company that handles something as important as a mortgage.

When I tried to get this issue resolved, I was told there was no claims department or any process to handle errors made by their own staff—despite the fact that my property taxes were supposed to be included in my monthly payments per my contract. Instead of taking responsibility, they simply said all they could do was a “spread” to figure it out. That’s not a solution.

When I asked about insurance coverage—such as Errors and Omissions or professional liability insurance, which most financial companies carry—I was met with resistance. The representative refused to provide any information or documentation and acted as if I was asking for something unreasonable.

To make matters worse, one of their representatives, Melissa, actually hung up on me after I repeatedly asked to speak to a supervisor. The person who finally helped me, who wasn’t even a supervisor, said she reviewed my closing documents and confirmed that the property taxes for both properties were supposed to be included. Yet the supervisor completely denied that and kept interrupting me every time I tried to explain the situation.

This entire experience shows a complete lack of professionalism, communication, and customer care. Their staff contradict each other, fail to take responsibility, and treat customers rudely. I’ve received no real help or resolution, just excuses and deflection.

I would not recommend Planet Home Lending to anyone. They mishandled my account, failed to communicate, and refused to provide transparency or accountability. If I could give zero stars, I would.
