We try to offer friendly assistance and advice wherever possible. We have staff trained in the fitting of safety items and they will often spend a long time fitting the correct hat or body protector. However, this service is only available to customers intending to purchase the fitted item on the day and not to customers considering buying similar (but unfitted) items online, potentially from another retailer.
No help with issues
The Shires fly rug arrived and fitted. However from day one the neck straps kept ondoing - the donkey wearing the rug has 2 other shires rugs and this did not happen with them and another donkey and pony also have shires rugs and again no issues with the neck straps coming loose.
Came home one day and the entire neck was loose, all the straps undone and she had managed to stand on it and rip it to shreds. This is within 3 weeks of purchase at around £65. Not a cheap rug.
I believe there was an inherent fault in this rug and should have sent it back when it first started happening but as I didn't have a fly rug for her and she was itchy I let it do. She is now wearing a ruggles one and the straps don't come undone on it so it is this specific rug which has issues.
Will cost £30-40 to repair it as the entire neck will need doing and is it worth it given it may happen again if the straps continue to come undone.
Absolutely no help fro the supplier. They told me to return the rug to see if it was manufacturing fault but did not respond to my later email explaining that given how damaged it was it would inevitably be considered an accidental damage so not worth returning to them and paying the expense of that. Had the neck straps not all become undone in use. the donkey could not have stood on them.

We responded to emails promptly and asked the customer to return the rug to us. We made it clear that, if the rug was subject to a manufacturing fault, we would resolve the matter. The customer has not returned the rug, so we have been unable to assist further.
