This company sells fake organic and…
This company sells fake organic and natural products. I purchased over $2500 worth of ingredients to see if I can add them to my certified organic skin care line. Nothing - and I mean NOTHING - in the order was natural. I’m an experienced manufacturer with over 20yrs experience: I know what natural oils and essential oils should smell like. All of these were adulterated with very persistent synthetic fragrances. They are most definitely not USDA certified organic, natural, cold press etc. They even lifted bottle images from the Mountain Rose Herbs website to make themselves look somehow affiliated with that excellent and highly respected company. This company needs to be shut down. It’s the worst kind of dishonesty. Some of the oils even smelled like solvent! Who knows what’s in them. I worry about inexperienced small producers not knowing the difference and putting these absolutely garbage oils in their skincare. Honestly very frightening. Luckily I did receive a full refund via Paypal as they verified this was a fraudulent company and had received other complaints. I’m sure the positive reviews on here are fake.
Blue tansy was synthetic crap with dye
Blue tansy was synthetic crap with dye. Orris oil also synthetic. Indian Sandalwood is diluted labdanum oil, and babchi oil, while real, is also diluted. Very frustrating, will not use this company again.
Update: try calling them before you order. They don’t answer their phone. Or their email. Or their WhatsApp. I looked up their NY “address” and it’s a place you can rent an office space so they aren’t really there just pretending. It’s a company in India. If you don’t like what you ordered it’s going to cost a ton to return. Packed up and returned the entire order and if they don’t refund going to talk to the bank to see if they will intervene. I see still more positive reviews and all I can say is I don’t think they are real. I think they’ve paid people to write them. Going back to Eden and Mountain Rose. This website looks so legit but it’s not.
No response over WhatsApp
I wrote them to ask a question over WhatsApp and never got a response. The message was seen. My gut tells me the products are fake, but I don't
know for sure. I do recommend to read the negative reviews before you proceed and be careful.
Worst possible packing!
I don’t want to leave a bad review as being a loyal customer of them but almost THREE out of SIX came broken already. All I wanted was a pretty item that smells nice. Though Rose otto, and other absolutes I ordered are heavenly and have top quality but they were leaking when arrived. My house has a very fragrant aroma now! They weren't opened or broken, but the bubble wrap had oil all over it. Thankfully all the bottles were bubble wrapped and nothing else in my order was damaged. A lot of the product was wasted. I contacted NIB team and shared the pictures of oily smelly package and am waiting for their response.
Pathetic shipping service!
While I love my NIB oils, as a company they need to work on their distressing shipping service. I ordered two oils-Lavender Essential oil and Ylang Ylang Essential oil, highly popular and most-selling product of them and the order arrived in 2 weeks! This was very annoying and not acceptable when they promise to dispatch the order within 2 working days once the order is placed. When I asked them about the status of my order they confirmed that they have dispatched it and it is in transit, but I received it after almost 12 days. I kept on tracking my order for all these days and it was stuck in transit. Do all the orders take this long to ship?? First-time customer, a bit disappointed with shipping.
Fake Essential oils.
Here is a summary of my experience with Nature in a bottle:
I attempted to cancel my order 6 hours after purchase by email because of the questionable/inconsistent reviews online (suspected scam and poor quality/fake essential oils). I got a response from the company that evening asking why I would like to cancel. I responded immediately and never got a response thereafter.
I attempted to contact them by phone. I was unable to speak to anyone due to “high call volume” - an automated message that I’ve gotten over the last couple of weeks.
I was only able communicate with a representative via WhatsApp. They stated that they received my request for cancellation but "the order was already packed before that... and picked up today morning by Fedex". This was 2 days after my request for cancellation.
The shipment was delivered 1-2 weeks later. One of the bottles was leaking/damaged during shipment. The essential oils are described as being "100% pure and authentic" on their website. These products are not authentic/knock offs as I have compared their scents/texture from other companies from the US.
I have attempted to resolve this issue with them over the last week - by phone (no answer, automated “high call volume” message), email and whatsapp (again no answer).
They're website states that "We are setting an industry standard through an absolutely No Hassle 90-Day Return Policy and Satisfaction Guarantee on all our products. Our products can be returned for any reason, even if opened, for up to 90 days.”. I have not been able to get a hold of anyone.
I've been ordering from them for over a…
I've been ordering from them for over a year now I guess. I've experienced great customer service as well as great products. But, how I wish they could further increase their credibility by providing GCMS Analysis of their oils. I'm a nerd and really persistent when it comes to checking! I really scour through the net just to find the right info. So here I am sharing! I've checked their USDA certificate with SGS India, and guys they're a real deal. So, plus 1+ point for that. Their USDA Organic certificate is authentic. You can email USDA and check yourself. However, some oils are weird. But they're not the only one experiencing it. For example Eucalyptus Globulus smells like cat urine, A big brand called Neal's Yard Remedies has the same complaint with their Eucalyptus Globulus. Sooo, I think GCMS will help filter out this kind of oil batch mistake? And Tamanu oil, according to Givaudan (also a big brand) should be color more on yellowish green color. As darker green, or brown means it's oxidized. Also, your Tamanu oil and Rosehip oil both lost it's dark green and Amber Red hue color after 3 months! Not sure if it's just storage condition or if the reviews here are true? Hope you'd consider my suggestions Nature in Bottle!
This Company is TRASH!
First of all I don't believe any of their positive reviews. When I first ordered with them several weeks ago, I saw a particular review from a "Steven Lloyd" and I remembered him because he had the same problem as myself. We both received leaked bottles. (or so he says) He claimed that they replaced it and refused to let him pay. In my case, they offered me a credit but still forced me to pay for the shipping and I must use the entire $50 in order to redeem it 😒😠.
Also, I ordered the Vanilla Absolute and the Marshmallow root oil. The Vanilla looked weird and pasty and I asked the rep via email if it is supposed to look brown and pasty and he gave no clear answer and suggested to check with the certificate of analysis (COA) report to check the appearance. So you mean to tell me that you don't even know what you're selling or what it's supposed to look like? 😳 I threw it out and was too scared to use it and the marshmallow root had a minty fragrance which faded after the third use which was strange. When I ordered marshmallow root from Aromantic, it was organic and didn't really have a fragrance. I believe Aromantic is authentic. Anyway, the conversation ended with a credit.
Now, I did not use my credit right away and let a few weeks pass so I did not know about any limitations until I was ready to purchase a $30 item and was barred from doing so. Ridiculous! I found the old emails of correspondence and responded again with my issue and received no response. I left a phone message and still no response. I went back to the site just before writing this review and of course I see Steven Lloyd's review pop up with a time stamp of 1 minute ago when that fake review has been there for several weeks. This company is fraudulent and they are not customer friendly. I recommend Aromantic or Voyageur Soap and Candle instead. They have a great variety and are customer friendly. Aromantic has a marshmallow root which is FAR better. Marshmallow root is what initially brought me to Nature In a Bottle but I'm so glad, I didn't' waste any more money with this company beyond that purchase
Beware of buying!
Just like the other real reviews on here my experience with this company is such a bummer. I wanted to believe that the oils were real and that they were legit but my gut was telling me otherwise. After having spent $300 I probably won’t get back (I still keep bugging them but haven’t heard back at all.. it’s been a little over a week) the oils aren’t real. There so overpowering, and I have had very concerning adverse reactions such as rapid heartbeat, confusion, and dizziness when solely working with these oils!! Please be careful and don’t waste your time or trust the fake reviews!
Products FAKE Reviews FAKE. DONT BUY!!!
Jeezuz guys you have scammed so many people how do you sleep at night? The put together website and prices are what hooked me. But alas, what I received was clearly FAKE essential oil that smells like those gross chemical room sprays they sell at the dollar store. And these are compared to my legit eden botanical oils. If you are seriously a company using this in your skincare products, that is a joke, and you should probably have INSURANCE from when someone comes to you with their face melting off from god knows what they put in this stuff. STOP SCAMMING PEOPLE. And stop filling out FAKE COA reports for your FAKE products!
Investigation for Fraud?
UPDATE: Just a few days after my original review below was posted, and as expected, three new 5 star reviews showed up in a shameless attempt to falsely raise their overall rating. Nature In Bottle's embarrassingly obvious tactics to deceive potential buyers and bury authentic reviews is not going to hold up for much longer.
ORIGINAL POST: It appears 'Nature In Bottle' is fighting hard against very accurate 1 star reviews with fabricated positive experiences. I am a natural perfumer and artisan hydrosol distiller. I can easily tell you with one quick sniff if an essential oil, absolute or hydrosol is adulterated. After ordering 3 gallons of various hydrosol from Nature In Bottle, I can tell you with 100% confidence that every single item was poorly perfumed water. After deeper inspection of their website, it is now clear the content and photos are stolen from legitimate websites like Mountain Rose Herbs. Additionally, Nature In Bottle or 'Ethereal Ingredients Pvt Ltd' (their registered parent company) were both unverifiable as being a tenant of the office building at "77 Water Street" in New York which they claim is their US office. My assumption is they occasionally send out authentic product- if any (on cheaper priced items) to keep the swindle game going, coupled with their bogus 5 star reviews. On top of that, it was brought to my attention that Nature In Bottle, as well as its sister company, Parasperfumers.com may finally be under investigation for fraudulently using the 'USDA Organic' certification. Don't let curiosity get the best of you, you'll get duped like so many others - instead, go through a reputable seller. I'm actually quite surprised they've been able to keep this up for as long as they have, but it appears the scheme in now crumbling as more people are taking the time to speak out.
not happy at all
not happy at all - to receive oil in an aluminium flask!
Have emailed the company and no response thus far.
Really great products so far
I don’t know where some reviewers might be getting their information about the oils they sell. None of my oils or absolutes have been dyed or have additives. The only Australian type of product I ordered is kakadu plum and it smells like kakadu plum and goes on the skin like kakadu plum. Best of all if I am in the sun and I spray it on my skin it prevents sunburn. Which is what it’s supposed to do. I use many of the oils on my skin diluted with carrier oil and my skin looks great! I will say please be careful with the canisters that they store them in. You should use a flat screw driver to carefully remove the top after getting the plastic lid off and work around it so you won’t splash yourself.
The only trouble I had is one time I was shorted an oil and they didn’t reply to my email. Otherwise a 5 star product site.
Proof they are a scam 100%
Guys my name is kat from Melbourne australia.
These guys are really good at making false reviews and posting fake certificates. I ordered 10 oils from them, they all arrived as a cheap base oils ie: rosehip oil was sunflower then mixed with a fragrance and colourant and then also another example the tamanu oil was just a food dye, flour and sunflower oil (I could be wrong it could have been Aloe Vera oil) one other oil as I was opening it splashed up on my face and burnt my skin. Upon further research I was talking to the only manufacturer of fragnoia essential oil in Australia (paper bark oils) and they said they never supplied nature in a bottle with their oil. They did provide a refund however I am out of pocket duty import fees and my time.
Im curious as to how australian imports hasn't banned them from exporting to us.
This is my 2nd time ordering from this…
This is my 2nd time ordering from this company. I placed my 1st order in August 2019 with no issues and I received what I ordered in a quick turnaround. I received the exact same great service this time ordering. My 4 oils were packaged securely in metal containers and received by FEDEX Priority within 8 days (holiday/international shipping delay). In reading the reviews since I last posted, this company is NOT a scam. They are a legit company with a U.S. office in New York but products are shipped internationally. I was skeptical of this company at first as well, but decided to order because I knew I could get my money back, if it was a scam. Turned out they're legit! I recommend you give them a try so you'll know for sure and not think I was paid to write this, because I wasn't.
ofcourse I am tempted to order
ofcourse I am tempted to order, who wouldn't!? but their price are just unreal.
many times I bought neroli from a Marrocan distiller...it smelled good...and the price was way lower than with the bigger companies...but I knew distillers in Egypt and their quality is non plus ultra...they are real. and 1 kg costs between 3500 and 4500 €...depending on season, harvest demand etc...
when I wrote the Marroccan distiller I wanted to come by to film how makes his oils for my website...like a mini documentary he stopped answering me and in fact took this oil and many others from his website...
later doing a perfumery course in Paris I learned there are synthetics that easily copy Neroli...it smells like it..but its synthetic and its not layered...its just one olfactory molecule....it doesn't have all the facets a real one has...
but its way cheaper...so I was cheated...
if you think this company is good it is because you want to believe it...
but no one can produce for these prices...no one...unless they are sythetics...and the Indians and Chinese are great in copying and cheating...

I purchased "New Caledonia Sandalwood…
I purchased "New Caledonia Sandalwood Oil" from them. What I received was not sandalwood oil and the package didn't come from New Caledonia, it came from India. I complained to them via email but no reply. It's possible this company is a complete scam and their positive reviews may be fake. Even with the best will and technology in the world I think it's impossible to weed out all fake reviews. Unfortunately these days there are many major scams based entirely or partly in India. It's also possible this company is not a complete scam but a semi-scam, the worst type because they are then able to continue in business. By occasionally supplying a genuine product they can get some good reviews, continue in business and continue scamming activities.
Definitely NOT a scam, we’ve found them amazing!
We are a small company in Australia specialising in perfumes, candles and diffusers. We have ordered from these guys 4 times now and everything has been amazing quality.
We had trouble with our vanilla Absolute in Australia, everywhere promised absolute but we were sent oleoresin several times.
This is the best quality product we’ve found.
I’ve bought almost all the floral absolutes, and they are definitely real despite what other people are saying. The shipping cost was great, $53 to Australia is incredible and hard to find for an international seller! And that was for several kilos.
I have suspicions about some of the bad reviews here. Yes they take a while to reply to emails, but they have been very quick at supplying orders and everything has arrived to us in perfect sealed packaging and in record time. All our orders came with papers with chemical breakdowns of the absolutes.
I personally love this company
I personally love this company. I can see why others believe it is a scam but it is definitely not. I can admit they have some communication issues they took a week to get back to me with a shipping confirmation and i called three times to the India number before they called me back from New York and told me my order had already shipped but their products are great. My first order was a blackseed oil, rose and vetiver hydrosol for my face wash and theirs was the purest I have gotten and so cheap. It also doubled as my toner and I love it. My second order was tucuma, ucuuba, murumuru, and bacuri butter and the product was flawless. However, the containers used to store each butter are a b*tch for me to get open but nothing gets in them I can say that much. The shipping did not take nearly as long and they sent my shipping info and tracking number this time. My next order, during this pandemic, will be rose, lavender, tea tree, and cucumber hydrosol; blackberry, blueberry, goji berry, and manuka oil; chamomile and frankincense essential oil. I am just waiting for them to send the pro forma request so I can pay for it since they are not in the warehouse right now because the coronavirus. Also, they usually take Paypal which I used for both of the first orders. The bank wire transfer is just another payment option for those that are not privy to debt or credit cards. My opinion is if you think this is a scam then don't waste your money trying to find out but if you want quality products for a decent price then order one product and judge them for yourself. I was not disappointed and I hope you won't be either. You can also check our newdirectionsaromatics.com from Austrailia, they are great but way more expensive.
Like soap.
I bought the Lotus pink absolute in December last year. Hoped that it would be high quality but it smelled artificial like toxic soap. Really bad.
I know how Lotus pink smells like because I bought a 1ml sample from a german seller. Its a very sweet meditative fragrance.
Now I know that sellers who have the REAL lotus absolute take 200-300$ for only 15ml!!! So now i know that a high price tells you everything.
I wanted to return it but the shipping prize is very expansive.
