Easy process to book. Communication was excellent. Left the van with the same fuel in it, half a tank, all good no issues. Would use again.

Easy to deal woth 9 seater came early i was at work misses was at home so we had it allredy for what we needed it for ahead of time didnt come to collect it till 4 days after so was just sat on the front but over all very simple and easy to deal

Quick and easy. Great communication and the van was exactly what I needed. Really fantastic value for money. Have used them several times now.

The van was delivered with the inside covered in sand (builders previous hire, I suppose). Nationwide said the hire company would not replace it nor come and clean it - so I had to do it!
I found the remains of a chicken takeaway in the driver's door shelf!
Nationwide didn't apologise and haven't responded to a request from me for compensation.
Awful woman on the phone, completely unhelpful. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Delivered well on time. Nice clean vehicle and drove perfectly. Collection was very easy and both delivery and collection drivers were polite and punctual. Would highly recommend to anyone as I had a great experience, thank you for everything.

No problems whatsoever, the vehicle was left as arranged in clean tidy condition, my only gripe and it is a small one was the fuel tank was not filled up so I had to guesstimate how much to put in when the rental had finished other than that I would definitely use Nationwide again.

What a waste of time this company is rubbish kept adding things on and they wanted to change me 67 pounds extra cos they had no car available near to me telling me this 2 days after taking the booking and payment not worthy of 1 star

Easy to book, good communication, prompt delivery and relatively speedy collection. All round a good experience. Vehicle was in a clean condition.

I booked a van for £298.75 (for 24 hours) to move my daughter’s furniture out of her flat.
The van didn't turn up and the person I called sounded a bit confused / surprised about my call and said they would get back to me.
After several follow-up calls from me, I was told the van would be with me three hours late, while I waited with my daughter’s furniture sitting in her flat’s car park.
When I complained, my emails were ignored till I said I would escalate to senior management and then I received what looked like a copy pasted response with no offer of compensation.
No-show, poor response, no compensation - avoid.

🛑🛑🛑Avoid at all cost never pick van up when should off ,then come in and take 1 thousand out your account reported as fraud, read the reviews on them please

Superb service! I loved the convenience of the drop off, pick up, online booking....all so easy and quick. Also, the guy that dropped the car off was super lovely, as was the guy that picked up the car. And the car was spotless and faultless. Nice work Team!

I had a very disappointing experience with Nationwide Hire UK: I was charged £180 for a Blackwall Tunnel penalty and an additional £180 “administration” fee for the same incident, which felt like double billing and was poorly explained. Despite the hire being advertised as “unlimited mileage,” I was later charged a further £90 for excess mileage—contradicting what was stated. I did not receive a satisfactory explanation or transparent breakdown of these charges, and the lack of clarity and unexpected fees left me extremely dissatisfied. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.

I booked 2 rentals through this Watford based company 3 weeks apart. They left the van uncollected for 18 days! I had parked the van on my street expecting it to be picked up within 3 days (as advertised). With bin lorries passing and children playing in the street the van got a small dent, which I am now being charged for. I cancelled the 2nd booking but they refused to give me my money back and are holding it in credit. I rang the number on the email I received to be told that they only respond to emails (why put the number in the email then) and that I should expect each response to take 28 days. If I sent a chaser then I would go to the back of the queue. They would not answer any of my questions on the phone and threatened to block my number if I rang again!

I hired a 7.5T truck from these guys and during the phone call when I was ordering I made it clear I needed the truck by a specific time.
The sales agent guaranteed that it would be on time, so I booked and paid via credit card. Only after payment did they send the T&C's.

An hour after expected delivery time I emailed to chase the vehicle. I received a reply saying it will be another 4 hours and "it's not their fault there is traffic" at this point I advised it was no good at that time. They said if I cancel I couldn't have a refund as their T&C's state delivery times have a grace period of 4-8 hours unless a guaranteed time is agreed when booking! I stated that I did agree the time when booking and the T&C's were irrelevant as they were sent after payment so post contract.
At this point they became very rude and soon stopped responding.

This has been passed to our legal department who they have also stopped responding to.

My advice would be use another company as customer service is non existent at this place and they will revert to T&C's that they send you after payment which will always be non refundable.

I wish I would have read these reviews before agreeing to using this unprofessional outfit.

AVOID - Zero Stars - AVOID

At first everything was fine. Deliveries on time and easy to book. However trying to get an issue resolved with Nationwide is near on impossible. After several hassle free short bookings, we had a few longer bookings and thats where issues started.

We had been charged fuel charges (even when it was returned with more fuel in) and were not told of this charge either. When disputing we were shunted away and told no further investigation on this matter. So now it's with the Ombudsman to resolve.

We also told the collection team the van needed to be collected as a priority as there was no where to park it. It took them 5 days to arrange a driver, and then we were charged additional usage days because we had to keep moving the van.

I have been let down by Nationwide, and will strongly advise anyone not to use them.

Communication form their customer service is very bad, and rude most of the time.

Terrible service. They made one mistake after another - wrong car, wrong time, unresponsive assistance, no alternative solution provided. And, despite all of their mistakes, they charged me the whole fee. I didn't even use the car at all. Friendly advice: stay away from them.

We have used Nationwide Hire UK for a number of years now and find them an extremely good company to work with. Great choice of vehicles at reasonable prices. Delivery is always perfect and on time. Any time we have had to make an amendment or call the office, the staff are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this company, they are great.

The people are easy to deal with. The price is always the best you will get and you can fault the service thewy provide.
