Great customer services to get our retail and support but once git van rented two days came chip wide screen broken tail light which ok explained to them but the after care returning the van waited day collection nothing emailed said could be 3 days collecting leave keys not home but they miss you on collection will bill you again , email given number called number see down collection couldn't find then said could be three days when they get told ready?? Been 4 half days still not collected

Avoid at all costs.
We booked for ONE day to move house. ABSOLUTELY NO DAMAGES to the vehicle when we left it after the one day we needed it. They specifically told us to leave the key in a safe spot and the landlord then told us a week later it still hadn’t been collected. Very unprofessional! Then they went on to tell us that we have almost £500 of damages. We even went so far to make sure that the fuel was exactly as it was given to us. Why on earth would we bother if we damaged the car??
I will be taking this further but please, do NOT use this company under any circumstance!!!

A very smooth sales operator, very reassuring, so I booked a car, paid the amount, completed all the necessary forms.

However, at 4.50pm, 10 minutes before the admin office closed I received a call informing me they had NO car until the following day, and "would this be okay?". Needless to say it was not! Really messed up my plans for the following day. The Team Manager did not seem too bothered, asking "would you like a refund?"

A great experience from start to finish. I needed a vehicle at short notice and had no way of collecting it, so the delivery and collection service was a lifesaver! Every communication I had was courteous, professional and helpful. I would definitely use this company again.

I have never used this company before and I felt that the whole process was exceptional. I spoke to the company over the phone many times as I wasn't sure what I was doing. They helped me to sort my questions easily and I had confidence in the rental agreement. The truck was dropped early by a lovely helpful man so we where able to move home quicker. Although the truck was older we had no issues at all with it. I received a call regarding collection where I was able to let them know where I left left the key as no one was around to hand it over.

The comminucation via emails and calls throughout the agreement was brilliant and I would definitely recommend them and would use their services again in the future.

Not impressed - tried to hire a Luton van with tail lift - got an email the next day saying the SWB version wasn't available but a LWB one was but was going to cost more - agreed to the extra cost as I needed it - day before the hire I get an email saying even that wasn't available - complete waste of time!

Booking was easy. I was getting a 7 seater, but ended up with a 9 seater, due to needing isofix for baby seats. The 9 seater was dropped off by a friendly guy, he was over an hour late, but they did text to notify me.He apologised for it not being cleaned or for fuel being empty (light on and needed a garage immediately). He did show me where the fuel cap was.
I took photos of all the dents/scratches and fuel being on empty. It would have been useful to know the front screen wash did not work. (I thought it was empty so tried to refill at garage, when i got diesel but the water just poured out)
The van did have mould in the back and they had put a dehumidifier in to try and resolve this i guess.
The van did its job. They took rather a long time to collect it after the end of the hire. (But it clearly states a window of up to 3/4 days to collect) It was parked safely, so no issue.
So far I have had no surprises in extra invoices like other reviewers.
I would use them again.

Received an additional invoice for fuel used which i thought was fair enough but then received an additional invoice for over a hundred pounds in admin fees!!
i contacted the number on the invoice to question the additional charge and was met with a very rude man who was the most unhelpful person i have come across.

Have had over 10 vehicles from Nationwide over the past few years, never had any major problems. Vehicles are always delivered before the time requested, pick up can be a bit tardy but I have a big enough driveway so isn’t an issue. Most are clean, a few have looked like they were just picked up from storage yard but all in all no issues.

Easy and quick service , vehicle turned up on time and they picked it up a few days later. All went nice and smooth, had no complaints.

I would strongly advise others to avoid Nationwide Hire based on my experience. After being told they were running late to collect a vehicle, £150 was taken from my bank account without any authorisation.

When I contacted the office, I was reassured that the company would handle any issues; only to then be charged anyway, without my consent. The communication was inconsistent, and the customer service was extremely poor throughout.

From my experience, there seems to be a pattern of unexpected extra charges being taken without proper notice or approval. I would not trust this company with your details, proceed with caution or choose an alternative.

I had a very disappointing experience with Nationwide Hire Van.
I specifically ordered a Mercedes van, but instead was given a Vauxhall. There was no proper explanation or option offered at the time, which was already frustrating.
When I returned the van, I was told everything was settled. However, 43 days later, I was unexpectedly charged the full amount with no clear explanation. This kind of delay is completely unacceptable.
If there were any issues, they should have been raised at the time of return—not over a month later. The lack of transparency, poor communication, and failure to provide the vehicle I booked has left me very dissatisfied.
I would not recommend Nationwide Hire Van based on my experience.

I’m moving house and needed a van quickly. Really easy to book, great van as described. Lovely staff and very helpful when I extended the booking. When I love again I’ll be using them.

All the staff were nice and polite and helpful and the man who dropped the van off was very courteous and arrived on time.

Really good team have used them a handful of times and no issues at all on drop off and collections vans have been in really good condition will use again

Firstly we booked for delivery at 6pm as we were both at work until 5pm.The Van arrived at 9 30am the bloke dropped the keys through our letter box and parked it in a disabled parking space!!
There were no checks carried out on the driver or the vehicle.There was no Ad Blue in the Van and the drivers headlight wasn't working.The Van was also dirty inside and out with lots of dents!!
The Van was supposed to have been collected at 12pm on the Saturday but it is now Thursday and its still here Unfortunately we live in an area that is Permit Parking only which we did tell them at the booking stage so we have had a parking ticket !! We contacted them and they said its our responsibility until someone collects the Van.I cant understand how any Company can operate this way.Ive contacted other Van Hire Companies and they have all said its madness.

Easy to book and great service. Received an upgrade on vehicle free of charge so sue to the one booked having a fault. Dropped off at my house and picked up without issue. Would definitely use again.

Absolutely shocking service. This company hides behind unfair policies and refuses to issue refunds even when no service whatsoever has been provided. Instead of acting with basic professionalism, they cling to customers’ money and offer zero flexibility or accountability. Communication is dismissive, unhelpful, and shows a complete lack of respect for the people who keep their business running. The entire experience felt exploitative from start to finish. I would strongly warn anyone considering booking here - there are far more honest and reliable companies out there.

Van arrived on time, all good, friendly delivery guy.

However, I only needed it for a couple of hours, so I ended up returning it to them myself as they were fairly local.

Had I not, it would have been parked outside the house for a few days (with them unable to rent it out) and I’d have had to hang around to hand the keys back at…some point.

So was expecting a monetary thank you. But sadly, just got a rather nonchalant ah well.
