This company is a total rip off. Please, please don’t use them. Write me a hefty cheque for doing nothing instead!

Please, please don’t use this company, they are a total rip off merchant with a good website. Please write me a check for doing absolutely nothing instead!
Firstly, the advertised test dates are a total lie. I had been in their system for 6 months, had a test date some 3 months in advance still, whilst the website was still advertising test dates only a month in advance. If you phone them up to enquire about this they will repeat a clearly very well rehearsed and used speech about all the caveats on their website which don’t guarantee anything. Like everything else you will find about this company, it’s all a mirage….notice that whilst the sales contact number is open all day, the actual customer service number if you have a problem operates restricted hours. This again sums up the company. It is all about the sales and not delivery.
Next, having paid a hefty balance to National Intensive they will put you in touch with a driver. The driver separately requires you to pay everything upfront, meaning you will pay the whole balance with no actual guarantee of any services. After paying the driver directly, some time later I got an email from National Intensive asking me if I’d paid the driver. This lack of communication between the allocated driver and the company is a theme….
We initially had 3 lessons with the driver. Very, very bad lessons. English was poor, and I have found out afterwards that he came from 63 miles away to give a lesson.
Not knowing the local area is a real problem. All lessons were on little country lanes and dirt tracks which even experienced drivers may struggle with, but 3 hours of lessons didn’t involve one traffic light, proper road or roundabout, meaning you have no actual experience of the driving conditions which will apply at the actual test.
This is where things get really bad. Because the test date once allocated was so far in advance the driving instructor paused lessons and said he would pick up again nearer the test date. I heard nothing. Some 5 weeks before the actual test date I got in touch with him and he said he would send over some dates that night. He didn’t. I chased again. Same thing happened. Having chased over weeks he finally sent me through some dates he could do (no consultation around whether these times and dates worked for us). Not only did these dates involve totally silly times and suggestions (eg a 4 hour lesson starting at 7.30 am right before the test!) but he couldn’t fit in the 30 hours that I’d paid for and could only fit in 20 hours. When I complained about this, that 20 hours simply wasn’t enough time to have any real shot at passing the test, the sob story came out. He was only paid £32 an hour (I had paid £70 an hour), he had to drive from hours away and was loosing all this commuting time etc etc. Whilst I had sympathy for him as a human, being blunt this wasn’t my problem. I had paid the company a handsome sum
and it was their job to manage their suppliers, not mine. If I have in effect paid National Intensive £38 an hour for coordination effort, where is the coordination??!
Eventually the driver said he couldn’t deliver the required hours and we got back in touch with National Intensive. Because their customer service hours are so restricted this is a time consuming process, eg you will email them and they won’t reply till the next day, meaning we were getting closer and closer to the test date with no resolution. In total I spent 22 hours chasing and trying to resolve this issue. They said they would find me a new instructor. I had to agree to pay this new instructor up front again, even though I still, many, many weeks later haven’t had the refund from the original driver. I continue to chase this and am now having to get a lawyer involved as the money is still owing.
Eventually, only 2 weeks before the test itself National Intensive said they couldn’t find an instructor and I was on my own. Whilst they refunded some of the payment I had made them, they refused to refund some to cover their “administration” as they had given me 2 weeks notice before my test and this was plenty of time to pass apparently. You try finding an instructor with 30 hours spare in his diary over the coming fortnight with absolutely no notice……
It’s not just the money that makes me angry. It’s not just the total lack of customer care or concern and the arrogance of the company that bothers me. I am now back to square one 10 months later trying to get a test date when if I had just gone ahead and organised it all myself I would be 10 months closer to getting the test!
Please, please don’t use this company. You are paying for nothing but hassle and empty promises and a very deceiving website…..

EDIT INSTRUCTORS RESPONSE TO SHOW THAT THERE WSS OBSTRUCTION FROM THE START


The total course booked is 30 hours. So far, 3 hours of lessons have been completed, leaving 27 hours remaining.

For the first lesson, although the lesson itself was 3 hours, I spent approximately 6 hours of my day due to travelling time and organising the session. I accepted this because I wanted to support the pupil and complete the course professionally.

However, I have been experiencing very difficult communication with the pupil’s mother. She has been disputing lesson hour calculations minute by minute and the tone of communication has become confrontational.

I explained that longer sessions (5–6 hours) normally include a 30-minute break, which is standard practice for safety and concentration during intensive driving lessons.

I have tried to remain flexible and supportive by:

Offering additional lesson slots where possible
Explaining the hours clearly
Offering a refund for any unused hours if required
Unfortunately the communication has become stressful and I feel the situation is becoming unreasonable.

As outlined in the terms and conditions agreed to at the time of booking, we did allocate an instructor and secure a driving test for you. Your test was also placed on our cancellation service, which is designed to try and bring test dates forward where possible. However, due to the nature of this service, test dates cannot be guaranteed or predicted, as they depend entirely on cancellations becoming available within the DVSA system.

We understand your frustration regarding the instructor. Unfortunately, the allocated instructor had to undergo cancer treatment during this period. While we appreciate this situation was not your fault, it is also not something that could have been foreseen or avoided, and we do not present this as an excuse but as context for the disruption caused and as such a sensitive issue should be given some sympathy to the situation.

We were working to source a replacement instructor, which was difficult—particularly at short notice and for intensive hours—can be extremely limited. This is also reflected in our terms and conditions.

We regret that your experience did not meet expectations, but we maintain that the services provided were in line with what was agreed at the time of booking. We did refund some of the monies to you even though a full refund was not eligible as the course had begun and some lessons completed.

As an ADI i thought this might be worth…

As an ADI i thought this might be worth a try but my experience to date has been very poor I am afraid.
The main issue is with payments. They promise on their website, next day payment, however when you claim it often takes days of you chasing your money.
The only reason I did the work is i expected the ease of payment to make up for the massive payment drop in my normal lesson price.
I can only state my experience to date but I will be very cautious of any future bookings with them and advise any ADI to be certain they understand the process before they undertake any work.

I want to reassure you that the process we have in place is straightforward and serves as a safeguard to ensure that pupils receive the service they’ve booked. While ADIs are not charged for the work they take on from us, there are significant costs incurred on our side to procure and manage these bookings. To balance this, following our processes is essential — it’s how we ensure that everyone, including ADIs, operates efficiently and fairly.

I understand that your experience with payments has been frustrating. We aim for next-day payments as stated, but occasionally delays can occur. These processes are in place to ensure transparency and accuracy, and while we appreciate this can sometimes involve chasing, it protects both the ADI and the pupil.

We value all ADIs who work with us and encourage everyone to familiarise themselves with our procedures before taking on bookings. This ensures expectations are clear and helps prevent misunderstandings.

Don’t bother wasting your money

Spent so much money on block driving lessons with this company with a test at the end of it and the instructor I was allocated was literally the worst driving instructor I’ve ever been with. Wasted all my money, shouted at me on lessons and belittled me to the point I didn’t have any confidence driving at all. I had a test booked in 2024 and after the 20 hours I initially paid for he convinced me I needed another 10 and then I paid and leading up to the test he increasingly got more and more awful toward me and told me that I didn’t care about driving and that he wasn’t going to teach me if I didn’t want to, this was after I had given him more than a thousand pounds in lessons. After one lesson which I did a practice test he took me home and shouted at me until I got out of the car, I cried for hours after that and then he moved my test which I ended up not sitting and missed because he had not informed me when it was. Pretty sure he owes me money back as well for hours I didn’t go out on lessons that I had repaid for after he dropped me at home after shouting at me on the last lesson I went out with him. Thousands of pounds spent for nothing because tests are impossible to book and still don’t have a license to this day. Genuinely don’t book with these people it ruined my confidence and genuinely they essentially they robbed me

Amazing theory training project workshop with Yad!

I had a fantastic experience with Yad and his one to one theory project workshop session. It was very well laid out and very thorough. Yad was there to guide and answer any questions I had.

I would highly recommend either the one to one or group sessions to anyone wanting that little extra motivation / confidence or ease of mind on the journey to passing a theory test.

Instructor was amazing

Booked with these and trouble from the start. They struggled to find an instructor and tried asking me to do test in my own car. On last min after many complaints they found me an instructor. I can't knock the instructor but I would never go through this company again. Way cheaper to book ya test yourself and find your own instructor. Think they made around £250 sat on there arses stressing me out

Excellent lesson
