Scam

We've payed a lot of money to have the dribing instrutor contact us just a couple weeks before the test date saying he doesn't think he can fit us in. What do we do now? We paid extra to go on the cancellation list. This is a joke. Stating to feel this is some kinda scam

All the 5 star reviews are due to…

All the 5 star reviews are due to initial phone calls with the company and them being really polite and asking for 5 stars. After paying or having an arrangement, it is really hit or miss with the DI you are given and usually it is a miss. My DI was extremely negative and did not help my driving confidence at all. It seemed like he decided very early, about 6 hours into our 35 hours that I was not going to pass and was from then unwilling to let me use the car for my test to which the company supported due to his reputation. I tried to explain to the company that he may well be a great DI but does that actually mean that my experience did not happen. Anyways have my license now but would really recommend not using these as they are just a middle man and once they get their money they aren’t fussed about the quality of driving instruction.

We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations. However, our driving instructors are experienced professionals, and decisions such as test readiness and use of a vehicle are made based on their professional judgement and responsibility for safety.

While we understand that not every instructor–student pairing will be the right fit, we do take concerns seriously and aim to support both our instructors and learners fairly.

I can’t recommend my driving instructor…

I can’t recommend my driving instructor Adriana enough! She has been absolutely amazing from start to finish. Her patience, encouragement, and clear way of explaining things made such a difference to my confidence on the road.

Thanks to her support and guidance, I passed my driving test first time on Thursday (02/04/26)! 🎉 She always believed in me, even when I doubted myself, and pushed me to do my best in a calm and reassuring way.

Every lesson felt productive, and she created such a positive learning environment that made driving enjoyable rather than stressful. If you’re looking for an instructor who is professional, supportive, and genuinely cares about your success, Adriana is the one!

Amazing instructor

My instructor Yasir was amazing and made learning very easy to understand and quick to get the hang of. He helped with my confidence and was very easy to learn with. Cant recommend him enough! The booking process was easy and handy that my test was sorted for me. Thanks for the help!

Worst customer service and instructors ever

So after doing half my block bookings with my instructor, my test got moved because they examiners at my test centre went on strike, which is fair enough, not my instructors fault, then after that I got ghosted for two to three weeks by my instructor, which I later found out was because of a family problem, which is also fair enough, but would of been nice to got a message about why I didn’t get to do any lessons for three weeks, but then after completing the rest of my block bookings, I was told we’ll need to do two or three more lessons before your test in a weeks time, which I thought okay no problem, but then half way through that week, I was told I would have to do another 10 hours in that one week or else she wasn’t going to take me for my test, so did them lessons because I needed to pass because I needed to be able to drive for this job opportunity I had just week after my test, but then it got to the Friday, and my test was on the Monday morning btw, which she proceeded to tell me if I didn’t pay for another 6 hours and which was three hour lessons for Saturday and Sunday, she would refuse to take me for my test, so me been worried that I wouldn’t get this job and I couldn’t change the test day as it would cost me another £60, and btw I work part time at a chicken shop so money is a struggle right now, and can’t afford to pay for another test and even more lessons leading up to that test. So I paid her and on the drive to the test I messed up on two things, I stalled the car straight away and was in the wrong lane leading up to a roundabout, which I did fix in time and safely. But when we got to the garage to just chill for 20 minutes before my test, she told me she was going to reuse to let me use her car for my test and told me I won’t be going to it, which I was not happy about, and what makes it worse the reason was that I didn’t know the roads well enough around my test centre, which makes no sense because if u go to anywhere just a few times you won’t ever know all the roads well enough, and because of the stalling once and the roundabout, which I just thought it was down to me been nervous about my test, as I have never made them mistakes before, she then said would I want to do a hour and a half lesson now, which i replied no as I would just like to go home as I’m to annoyed about the whole situation. Then half way back to mine she said she would pay for my next test after I book it and she’ll just send me the money, so once I got home, I booked the test the next day for a months time, and I let her know this so she could pay me the money and put it in her diary, now it’s two weeks later and I still haven’t had a message back yet, and she won’t answer my calls. And now I’m two weeks away from my next test without a instructor, so now having to pay for learners insurance on my dads car just so I have a car for my test. I have emailed national intensive about all this and had no replies from them either

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review, and I’m genuinely sorry to hear about the experience you’ve described. This is absolutely not how we would expect any instructor to conduct their courses, and I completely understand how stressful and disappointing this must have been for you.

If there were issues at any stage, we really wish you had been able to let us know at the time so we could have looked into this further with both you and the instructor. We never want a learner to feel pressured, ignored, or unsupported, especially so close to a test.

Regarding the instructor’s decision not to take you to your test: if they genuinely believed you were not at test standard, then as the professional we do have to respect their judgement. However, not making you aware of this earlier, and the reasons given on the day, are not fair to you. You should have been informed well in advance, and the situation should never have escalated in the way you’ve described.

I have checked our system, and based on the name you provided, we have not received any emails from you at all. Could you please double‑check that you are emailing the correct address and resend anything you previously sent? Our correct email is office@nationalintensive.com. Once we receive your message, we can look into this further and try to contact your instructor on your behalf.

I’m very sorry that this has happened to you, and we do want to help resolve it. Please resend your emails when you can so we can support you properly.

I would avoid National Intensive!

I would avoid National Intensive at all costs. The whole experience was disorganised and stressful from start to finish.

I booked an intensive course with a supposed payment plan, but after failing my theory and being told a rebook was “confirmed,” I turned up to find nothing had been booked—no apology, just excuses.

Later, I was suddenly told I owed the full amount because no payment plan had actually been set up. I had to pay it all just to move things forward.

Even then, I still didn’t have an instructor a month before my test and had to keep chasing for updates. At one point, they even said my test might be cancelled due to “non-payment,” which I’d already sorted.

Overall, I had to chase them every step of the way just to get what I paid for. Completely unreliable and not worth the hassle.

What I can say is that payment plans must be selected and completed at the time of booking. If a payment plan wasn’t set up online during checkout, it unfortunately wouldn’t exist on your account. This isn’t something we choose for you.

I wonder what percentage of negative reviews you would have if the positive reviews on a phone call were removed ?

***Interesting that you say 5* reviews on a phone call are as valid as someone leaving a review at the end of the process, when it's clear you can see reviews on a phone call distort reviews on the "whole process" of learning to drive***
