This is one of the leading eye hospitals in the world. We owe a debt of gratitude to the never too much trouble staff as soon as you enter with real soul on the ground as well as the in house expertise of nurses and consultants in - house all under one roof - glaucoma cataracts etc.

Awful hospital

Awful hospital! they use machines that are faulty that caused damage to my family members eye and failed to take responsibility. they've done this to several other people and, now I am short sighted as a result. DO NOT USE THIS HOSPITAL. Senior doctors are rude, unprofessional and have no soul.

Absolutely horrendous service in A&E.
Was questioned on why I had attended when it was not nearest hospital from my home address. Since when were tax payers categorised and only allowed to attend certain hospitals?!
Assessed via a screen from about three feet away… how can an eye assessment take place from such a distance. Told to return to a different a&e if my problem had not gone in a few days as I didn’t not fall in catchment area for emergency treatment.

Wow. I attended on Sunday morning on the off chance that I could be seen. I had a problem with floaters and irritation. I was registered triaged examined all in under an hour by extremely friendly and competent staff. I am not one to post compliments but I have to thank these people.

Maxillofacial department worst service…

Maxillofacial department worst service ever in my life had my braces fixed the orthodontist cut my gum cheeks very badly leaving my right side inside cheeks swollen sore and bruised can’t even eat or talk without bad pain this is neglects and bad care she was rushing and didn’t care I’m in very bad pain and discomfort and left hurt and bleeding . They staff they are soo horrible and unprofessional they use to be very nice now they hehe gone down Gilbert bad service would never recommend them terrible they shouldn’t be orthodontist they have no care in what they do rude receptionist unskilled and rude horrific hate going here always unhappy going and leaving

NHS should see what’s going on hear… they use our tax money and treating us like time wasters..

I am a NHS worker as well for one of the busiest A&E departments in London. I am using this hospital for years as there are no othe options. Those people here in moorfields are purely a shame to the whole NHS… if you read their web site the y just keep going and goin about who should use their a&e… even they state that this a&e is for only Londoners who live around. When people pay tax do they categorise which area they live? Have many many bad experiences and it’s keep getting worst. At a day where I work we do 600-700 patience a day with care and sympathy towards the patients. Last time I went to moorfiels yesterday as I am a glaucoma patient and had sudden bleeding in my eye. Went there at mid night. There were only me.. they looked at my eye and review at the waiting area.. only by a nurse.. spend one our to go there and in five minutes they sent me back… I don’t know where are those NHS protocols and regulations in this trust…

Poor , Below standard

Really a 0 star rate. I had an appointment booked for this morning. I had reminders on 25th for my appointment. Woke up quite early to attend , got there and receptionist is telling me appointment was cancelled and that they called on 26th and left a voicemail. No calls or voicemail left on my phone. Did not argue with these people.
I have cataracts in both eyes attended another Moorfield for emergency scans and was told the left actually requires surgery and right soon after and the details sent to my local Moorfield.
However when I attended appointment I was told that if visual acuity fails on next line then they would consider and that late 50's is too early to do surgery. Total craziness to judge my vision not on personal situation but textbook. I get the impression where it seems that if I feel it's so bad should go privately. Doing my job is proving more difficult everyday. I work on computer for consultation and after couple hours my vision is so blurry it is difficult. Eyes red, swollen - patients keep staring at my eyes as it is so obvious. My appointment today was actually to check for glaucoma due to the pressure persistence in eye after applying drops for examination after several occasions.
Please listen to your patients and try to show empathy. Your service is total shambles. I trained in the 80's and you can see that some people now have no time for patients and such a lack in customer care/ service. This may come as water of duck's back. Take the opportunity to look into yourselves and see if what you do is up to standard or if it is what you would like for your friends or family.
You get there and it's a conveyor belt no time to listen just pushing you out for the next patient.

While the Doctor's team is fantastic

While the Doctor's team is fantastic, booking an appointment for Contact Lenses and Refraction is impossible. The doctor booked my appointment for contact lenses and glasses as urgent, so I received an appointment notice within a couple days for the 9th of July. This date didn't suit me so I tried to move it ... and so the saga began. I called the department but they don't put you through to refraction/contact lenses - they send you to the switchboard, or hang up on you while transferring. My emails were left unanswered. It took me over a week to reach a representative who sent an internal email to rebook the appointment. Despite me giving a list of suitable dates - they cancelled the appointment for the 9th of July and moved it all the way to 10th September - even though the appointment was marked as urgent - without consulting me at all. There's no way to reach the booking appointment.

Well done and thank you Moorfields Eye Hospital

I had to visit Moorfields Eye Hospital this week for tests.
I arrived 15 mins before my appointment time, to find a long queue outside and it started raining. The volunteers marshalling the queue were extremely efficient and helpful. They checked appointment times and I entered the hospital approx 7 mins before my appointment time. I was greeted by more volunteers/staff who sanitised my hands and issued a mask (I had actually brought my own but had to use the hospital mask). I was guided to the clinic reception desk and reported in. I was told that I would be there for about two hours due to the number tests I needed. Two and a quarter hours later I left having been dealt with extremely pleasantly and efficiently. I cannot fault the staff or volunteers. They did a Marvelous job under difficult circumstances which involved a lot of patients. Full marks Moorfields and keep up the good work!

Horrible ‘staffs’ ended my call for a&e…

Horrible ‘staffs’ ended my call for a&e department pretending they are putting me on hold when they can’t be bothered to answer the call. I won’t be surprised if they were the A&E department so much for it being a 24 hour service! My GP advised me to call moorfield hospital before i take a trip there as i needed to enquire about my eye as they told me to go there and the first thing the staff said was this is not the a&e department and didn’t even let me finish my sentence before putting me on hold only to bounce back to the same department when they realised it was me and then hanged up! Sort out your staff or employ new ones who is excellent at customer service rather than the lazy ones who sit behind desks gossiping and eating. I work with the NHS too and we would never speak to patients like that!

On hold for 1 hour and 50…

I was on hold for 1 hour and 50 minutes, so just under 2 hours, trying to get through to Moorfields At St Georges.
There is absolutely NO justification for this. We have jobs too you know, that’s 2 hours out of my working day.
The man who answered was rude and belligerent to boot when I quite reasonably asked of there was any reason for this.
I lawfully recorded the call so can prove everything.

I want Moorfiled hospital done wrong operation on my left eye and Iam bliand person Disable and Moorfiled always make excuse Frist they told me they will help me to fixed my eye but they didn't my opparation done was 2011 from now on still Iam Wating day by day Iam geting problem with my eye always bleeding and to much pain always get migrant pain not only this my left ear get infarction always pain I had very beautiful life I was enjoying my life with work and I work soo many good company like Harrods. Joel and son fabric and fuller.s smith Turner pub and hotel today I can't goo to work or something if i put my had down my left eye get paid and bleeding my Diram was to be come a very good chef but Moorfiled ruined my life last two months ago I want Moorfiled now they tell me is my mistake I did operation on my eye when I was at back home but is not possible I.want back home after 14 years 2016 i come on uk on 2003 thet time i was kids about 9 years old and had good eye I have my friend colliouge my Ex boss and every one know Moorfiled hospital did wrong operation now i can't even sur them and take my case to the crown prosecution service but didn't becuse I Respect our Her Majesty the queen she went to this hospital for eye care I.aks my file they didn't give me plus they don't help me with the I wish I.can rise my complain to our Her Majesty the queen Maybe one day I will get the opportunity to meet Her Majesty the queen Elizabeth and some off the doctor are rude they have no good manners to tolk always agresep and mudy they don't listion to you they keep tolking make you angry

Moorfields are wonderful

I had Clear Lens Extraction privately on Harley St (Advanced Vision Care) and suffered a detached retina. It was only due to the wonderful team at Moorfields who saved my sight in my right eye.
Thank you Moorfields and shame on you Advanced Vision Care.

Ignored & belittled until too late

My friend woke up totally blind today. She knew this day was coming and that the next stage is death. This should not have happened. For years they have been seen at Moorfields and the constant symptoms belittled and ignored. Their notes include some derogatory comments by the optometrists they mainly saw - rarely were they seen by a doctor. After being seen privately (a 'gift' from worried friends) they were given the devastating news that what would have been curable now was not. The consultant admonished them for not seeking help sooner - the same consultant under whose care they had been for the last 5 years with the exact same symptoms.

Wonderful professional private Lasik service

I only had one eye done with these wonderful people and service at Moorfields eye hospital done on privately. MUCH BETTER THAN THOSE HIGH STREET CHICKEN FACTORY STYLE CLINICS. I highly recommend Moorfields eye hospital, after all they are well established.
If you want to go elsewhere like _____ I won't mention there name because they hate negative press and will report my honest review just because they can't accept it.
Anyways do your RESEARCH FULLY BEFORE going to any high street clinics that will leave you will dry crusty eyes. ;P
