Used to Love Them - What Happened?
I used to love Modcloth, and would get very excited whenever I had the chance to browse the pages upon pages of cute clothes on their site! I always had to narrow down my choices for my purchases, and leave some cute things behind. I used to beam proudly when complimented on my clothes/accessories, and tell people it was Modcloth. Recently, when I've gone to their site I’ve had a hard time finding things that I want to wear anymore. The models they use on their main page turn me off from the brand - something seems amiss, like they lost that friendly vibe they had before. But most of all, service for shipping has been AWFUL. I had to pay for express two-day shipping bc the processing times take so long compared to others in the industry, even with 5-7 days shipping I couldn’t guarantee delivery for an event two weeks out. (I made that mistake before.) The package I paid $13 to ship arrived in awful condition, the polymailer looked like it had been ripped open, then end twisted and tape twisted around it sloppily. They had obviously reused the polymailer for my purchase. I took pictures of it in case, it was so bad. I work in shipping/recieving at a retailer in my area, so I know that polymailers don’t seal that way, and certainly don’t need extra tape. If the employee forgot to put something in after sealing, just use a new polymailer!! It shipped from their returns department, too. Which was another red flag. After taking my dress out and hanging it up in preparation for the wedding I was attending, I started to notice an odd smell. The dress smelled of marijuana, and obviously been a return that was sent to me without being inspected first. When I went online to leave a review, the dress was no longer listed on their site. Hmm. Also, with the polymailer in the condition it was in, it was not “resealable” for “easy returns” on the label. I laughed at that. Anyway, I needed the dress and had no time to return it/contact customer service, etc, so I was stuck with it. I’m not sure if I’ll buy from them again anytime soon.

Wrong order sent
I have ordered with Modcloth a few times and when it goes smoothly all is well but when it goes wrong unfortunately they are no help. I ordered a dress and as I live overseas it took around 2 weeks to arrive. When I received the package to my surprise despite having my name on the outside packaging inside was someone else's order form and item. It's ridiculous in this day and age not to have help available 7 days a week but as Modcloth are only available on business days I had to wait an entire weekend before I could contact them during which the dress I had purchased sold out. I let 2 different Modcloth assistants know of the issue and despite me providing them with a photo of the other person's order their response was to simply refund me. I asked them if they would like the other person's order back so the customer would receive their item and there was no response. I am amazed that staff have so little care over company stock. Given the dress I ordered was over $100 I would of thought rather than refund me it would of been sensible to try track down the whereabouts of my item which had most likely been sent to the person whose order I had. I was also incredibly annoyed because I missed out on an item because of the delay contacting Modcloth since they were unavailable. I won't be ordering from Modcloth anymore unless it's an exclusive item to Modcloth because other websites seem more reliable with actually getting the proper orders out to me and I don't want to miss out on an item due to post or stock blunders. The only positive I can say was I pay by paypal and my refund was swiftly sent through so at least Modcloth was reliable in that regard.

My first order and am worried it wont come
i recently made an online purchase on ModCloth site, payment was taken, order confirmation given but no email confirmation received and am now worried whether my purchase on their site is genuine or not. After various attempt at logging onto my account on their site, my account show no history of my purchase, which further beg the question whether or not to go to my bank and report it as fraud.
i just need to know whether i will receive my items or not, every-time i try to get through customer service it just keep sending me around.

I made an online purchased, money taken order canceled
I made an online purchased but the website kept spinning after I clicked place order. I had to reboot my browser. I checked my bank account and money already taken out my account and received a confirmation and cancellation of my orders in the same time. I made 2 enquires but 3 days past I still haven’t received any replies and received no refunds. If I still receive no response by tomorrow I will take this to my bank and to the authority for theft and fraudulent transactions.

HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE
I ordered from ModCloth the first time and they shipped the WRONG shoe SIZE. Upon receiving the order, I immediately contacted customer service regarding this issue. I received a response stating that my size was STILL IN STOCK and that they've shipped me the correct size. The following day, I received another email from Rachel, the customer care representative, stating that they again, made a mistake, and that my size was NOT available. Had ModCloth actually shipped the CORRECT SIZE initially, maybe it would not have run out of stock. To state that they still had my size and then retract that a day later added to the frustration.
The customer care rep stated that she can offer a 20% discount. 20%, really? I had a 15% off code as a new customer. That was not enough to quell my frustrations with them for their mistake. Additionally, they currently have a 30% dresses and sale items, but can't give me a 30% off due to their mistake. That is beyond me.
All I do is shop at online retailers, so I have plenty of experience with customer service. ModCloth does not care about keeping their customers satisfied. Stay away from this online retailer. I refuse to shop here ever again, even if they provide me with a 50% off code!

A little misled
ModCloth has some of the cutest swimsuits and I super excited to order one. I was a bit dissapointed when I received it cause the color was very far off from what it looked like online. In the picture it was peachy, but it reality it was bright orange, like a traffic cone. It was off-putting at first, but it kinda grew on me and I kept it. It's still cute and I get compliments on it, but it would've been so much better if it was the color I originally sought out for. The fact that this particular product was misleading makes me hesitant to buy anything else. The material is also really thick and is hard to get on and off, which is strange for a bathing suit.

I just noticed I was double charged in…
I just noticed I was double charged in July for a $90.01 order (on my credit card) and when I called customer service at Mod Cloth to get help she told me "no we don't double charge - we only charge when they ship." I assured her that yes, in fact I was double double charged and she once again said "no we don't double charge - you will need to call your bank."
I had to do all of the legwork with my bank to dispute the charge and will NOT be shopping with them in the future.
There are a lot of great stores out there with GOOD customer service!

BEWARE MODCLOTH OUTLET

I ordered a jumper from Modcloth. This jumper is the worst piece of clothing I have ever seen. I ordered size 2x. The top is so small. I tried to put it on and the entire top is so small It took me 10 minutes to get it back off.

High prices and poor quality items
I've seen ads for Modcloth for a long time. They definitely have very unique and cute clothing. I ordered a wallet and a bathrobe, which I was really excited to get. I paid about $8 for shipping and then waited almost two weeks to receive my package. The items that arrived were a laughably low quality. The bathrobe was a cheap material, which came with loose stitching in several areas. The wallet was also made of a cheap material, came with dirt spots that stained the inside of the wallet, and loose threading in multiple areas. Both of these items are the exact quality I would expect from Walmart, but unfortunately, cost me about four times more money than Walmart items would have. I will not be buying from Modcloth again and would not recommend it to anybody. There are better, much more high quality online and brick and mortar stores out there.

First time customer - never EVER again
Modcloth's business model is unorganized and ridiculous. My order sat in "processing" for an unusually long amount of time, so I decided to call and see what was up. Apparently my box had been pushed off to the side unlabeled and totally unaccounted for, and it took me CALLING to push things along. By the time I called, they apologized and said it was "unlike them" to lose an order like this, but tried to get together what they could after their negligence. By the time they finished locating my order, half of the items they had charged me for were no longer available. I have never had a shopping experience with so much negligence. The order is still super late, half missing, and the staff really couldn't care less. I haven't even received it yet, so honestly who knows what I'm in for. This company is just terrible.

I tried to exchange a skirt for size
I tried to exchange a skirt for size. There was no communication for an entire month. Then, I received an email saying they refunded it. I called and asked why. It turns out that in the month it took them to process the exchange, the size I wanted sold out. I sent back the original the day I received it. They didn't hold the size for me even though my account said it processed the exchange for that size. Had I known, I would have just bought the skirt in the right size myself even if it meant I had to pay extra for shipping. At least I would have the skirt I wanted. This was my first experience with ModCloth. Definitely not shopping there again.

Does their customer service actually exist?? Disappointed ex-shopper
I’ve ordered clothes from ModCloth for the past four years. I’ve never had a problem with my orders so I never had to deal with customer service. A couple weeks ago there was a big sale on and all the clothes I kept in my cart were on sale. I tried ordering them them but when I went to check out it asked me to change my settings because I live in Canada. My settings are already on Canada and every time I tried to redo my Canada settings the same page popped up telling me to change my settings. I gave up after six tries. I emailed ModCloth telling them of my issues. I heard nothing over four days. I then emailed them asking if they would honour the sales price because my settings were allowing me to order from Canada again. I have heard nothing from them and their phone number link on their page is shadowed out not allowing me to phone them. Most of the clothes I was hoping to buy have sold out. I’m disappointed and probably won’t be shopping with them anymore.

Disappointed
Reading other reviews and didn't realize ModCloth was purchased by another company. Whatever. I have purchased items since 2016 and was pleased then that the plus size shirts/tops were cotton blends and not the cheap polyester blends you see online and in stores. Went back to order same styles of tops I ordered previously and this time I received similar facsimiles made of -- you guessed it--- some polyester blend, "Viscose" + Spandex. I will be returning what I can and need to find another outlet. Sad!

Poor customer service
Cute clothes, but egregious customer service. I have been waiting for 2 weeks for a refund on my credit card worth $300 plus still waiting and no reply on my email inquiring about it. It’s unfortunate, will not return as a customer.

I thought they had cute clothes. Ordered 2 dresses - NEITHER fit.
I asked for store credit as I was going to buy something else.
That didn't fit either. (I bought larger sizes because I realized their stuff runs small. Still didn't fit properly.)
Sent the second order back and asked for the store credit to be refunded and was told no twice. Wrote letters to CEO Nieves and parent corp, Jet.com, CEO Belsam. No answer from either. Tried contacting the Better Business Bureau - nothing from them either. Called again, was told I could have my refund. Then was sent email saying , "Oh no, we can't do that." Called again and wanted to speak anyone that could help - was told they can't do anything about it and there's no one else to speak to. They have $165 of my money and I have NOTHING to show for it. This is theft!

I had been a customer for a long time, but I've noticed a big change since they got bought out. Poorer quality. Maybe they should spend less time and money on these fancy high fashion collaborations and photo shoots, and remember what their customer is really looking for.
