I ordered two dresses for an upcoming…

I ordered two dresses for an upcoming event and was impressed by how quickly my order arrived. I was a bit nervous given some negative reviews, but pleasantly satisfied when my order from 4/3/19 arrived on 4/6/19. Both dresses were as pictured and beautiful with high quality materials and lovely design. My order was two different designers, so sizing was a bit small for one dress. Ultimately, I will keep the better fit for my event and return the less flattering fitted dress.

Security Tag Left on Clothes

Last week I ordered a dress from ModCloth. It came super fast and I was impressed with the shipping time! However, upon arrival I realized that there was a security tag left on the dress. I contacted them that evening (4/3) and two days have passed and I’ve gotten no response. I don’t want to return the dress and reorder it because I got 15% and free shipping. I simply want to send it back, have the security tag removed and have it shipped back to me.

Perhaps I made a typo in my email address but I double checked it before submitting my message to them. Regardless, it’s a pain that now I have to either send it back or bring it to a random store and see if they’ll be kind enough to remove the tag for me.

Happy With

I've ordered from ModCloth several times in the last 2 years (with a.couple large orders) and have never had what appears to be common problems with tracking and shipments arriving in a timely manner. I've even had an order shipped actress (2-3days) and it arrived a day earlier than expected. Granted quality of clothing can be hit and miss; and have found some accessories found on ModCloth's website for cheaper elsewhere (an art store for one, the chain store Charming Charlie's another); my only one true complaint is when an item is sold out you do have the option of being informed when it will be.i stock again (on app it's "I need it"). I've done this a few times only to find ot back in stock by looking through the app not by receiving any notice from ModCloth. Overall as a person who hates traditional clothes shopping as well as a mild disdain for trendy, ModCloth is one of my favorite online stores.

Their website is continually broken

Their website is continually broken! I had returned a dress and did the store credit option, assuming I'd actually be able to use it. When I tried to place an order, nothing worked. The chat support feature was broken, and I couldn't use my credit at all.
Responses from their support staff were at first non-existent. Then, when I did get an email response back, they basically told me it was my fault for having a saved credit card on file. "Amber H" had terrible grammar and was fairly impolite. I finally called in and asked to have my store credit refunded. They said no. So I placed an order over the phone. We'll see if it actually arrives, but regardless I'm never shopping here again.

Dishonest exchange

I adored a pair of shoes from the moment I saw them. I ordered according to the suggested size. Upon recieving them, they were still a bit snug. Wearable, but not the most comfortable. I saw that a larger size was available so I initiated an exchange. I requested the available larger size and I was sent a confirmation email. I sent in the smaller size for an even exchange. I got an email stating that they had recieved my returned item. Weeks went by and I had yet to receive my larger exchange. I reached out to ModCloth twice before getting a response. Apparently they no longer had the size I requested and reimbursed my money without any email to let me know. I thought it odd that I recieved a confirmation that the size I requested was available yet now am being told differently. If I had known I was not going to receive anything in return I would have kept the original size and perhaps try to stretch them a bit. Now, I have no cute shoes. Really disappointed in their customer service. I have been a long time customer to ModCloth but this experience has turned me off.

I know that missing out on a size that is low in quantity can be disappointing. Please know that I have shared your feedback with our team. If you ever need to expedite the exchange process, or if you're afraid something may sell out, a "quick exchange" is always a good option! All you need to do for that is give our team a call at 888-495-9699, and they'll help you initiate a new order for the new size (matching any original discounts, and waiving any shipping costs), and set you up to return what you have a for a full refund. It's a bit of a work-around, but it's a good option for avoiding those system limitations. I apologize, again, for any disappointment!

awesome products, horrible shipping times

In general I can say, I LOVE ModCloth. Sure, it's on the pricier side, but they have good offers quite regularly and their items are generally true to the pictures. I have never been dissatisfied with any item, though sizing does differ according to brands.
Now, SHIPPING is their big weakness. My first order took 3 weeks to arrive, the second was here within barely a week (from PA to QC), but my current one was placed 2 weeks ago and even though I received a shipment notification on February 4, USPS is still waiting for the package... These discrepencies are not okay and ModCloth should really look into solving their issues with shipping as this is the major reason customers leave them... I am hoping my package will get here soon as I ordered dresses for a trip and would be sad to leave without them.

2 weeks, no tracking info, no response from company. Update.

Reverted to 2 stars. The shipping is just not acceptable. The order was not released to the shipper until after I posted my original review here - despite emails directly to the company about it. I suspect it was the customer service agent who released it.

An order placed Jan 23 (and immediately charged to my cc) took 4 weeks to arrive. Shipments from UK (ASOS) and India (eshahkti) both consistently arrive within a maximum of 2 weeks.

Look at your shipping Modcloth.

Be very cautious about ordering to international (yes, including Canada) - it's a long painful process.

EDITED: Modcloth has reached out to me to confirm the package had shipped. I'm upgrading my rating from 2 to 4 stars because while I haven't yet received the package - customer service did offer acceptable alternatives.

I'I placed an order on Jan 23 and received a shipping confirmation with a tracking number. The tracking number has never worked - for the last 2 weeks it just keeps saying:

"The tracking information for your request could not be located. Please verify your tracking number and try again later."

I've emailed twice asking for confirmation that the items have even shipped, with no reply. I had ordered these items for a trip but unless they show up today I'll be travelling without them.

This was my first time ordering with Modcloth. The lack of tracking information AND response from the company has left me a little concerned about my purchase.

Very cute and unique clothes and items

Their clothes are unique, with a vintage flair and lots of personality. If you happen to recognize yourself in their style, you’ll be very happy to have found them. They also do an excellent job at finding other designer’s pearls and offering them on their site, sometimes with a discount.
Customer service is excellent, especially with the chatting opportunity.
I use FEDEX for shipping and I’m happy with the delivery

Terrible Shipping/Exchange Process

I have been shopping with Modcloth for over a year, I was even thinking of planning a trip to one of their fit shops. However this past holiday season was terrible with them. I placed a jacket for exchange only to find out weeks later they did not have my size. No one contacted me, they just gave me store credit which I did not want. I was able to reach out and get my money back vs. store credit (They said they rarely give money back, but being that they promised me a jacket they did not have I do not think they had an option but to refund my money). I ordered a jacket on the third of December and it did not arrive until the 19th. I had to exchange it and now i am waiting once again for them to ship it. I will no longer be shopping with them, I do not understand how a store that basically only operates online can have such a horrible shipping policy. I found other websites like Unique Vintage that have similar items.

If you choose to shop with us in the future, I would recommend a quick exchange, rather than a traditional exchange. This is where you call in to place a phone order for the new size needed. We can price match what you originally paid, as well as shipping costs. Then, you can return the original size for a full refund. This ensures that you get the item in the size needed, and it does not sell out before processing. Just something to keep in mind for the future. Disappointed in Modcloth

I ordered 12/11 and started getting nervous when a tracking code hadn't popped up after 3 days. So I contacted a customer service through their site and was reassured that my order would arrive before Christmas.

I finally got the tracking code today, 12/18 and my items will not arrive til AFTER Christmas. It wouldn't be a big deal if they weren't gifts and they hadn't promised any orders before 12/13 were GUARANTEED to arrive BEFORE Christmas.

I am really frustrated because if the company had been honest, I wouldn't have to scramble right now due to a problem that could have been easily avoided.

UPDATE: The items did arrive on Christmas Eve surprisingly, so they followed through on their promise. So I adjusted the rating experience, thank you Modcloth for the communication and delivering as promised. And thank goodness the post office was open on Christmas Eve.

Bless the poor woman whose job it is to respond to all of these reviews. I know it's not her fault. But ModCloth, c'mon. This isn't your first rodeo. Blaming this shipping debacle on the (annual and predictably busy) holiday season is pretty ridiculous at this point. Just admit "we f@#*&ed up" and get better. Also, change your website which STILL CLAIMS that you can receive orders in time for Christmas. I think the 100+ complaints on this website alone prove otherwise.

Same experience as everyone else here; ordered an item which was guaranteed to arrive on time for a specific event. Well, the event is Monday, and my order hasn't even shipped yet. Lousy (nonexistent) communication from the company, as well. I really wish I had read some of these reviews before ordering...

I've often admired ModCloth's wares and finally decided to indulge! I won't be ordering from them again.

Wow--this used to be a good place to order

Wow. I wish I had read some of these reviews before I ordered. I am awaiting any kind of communication about my order (other than the "we received your order" and the charge to my credit card). I have tried the chat function to ask about the status of my order--yeah, good luck on that. I think they dump you into some sort of internet wormhole. No response on that either. This will be the last time I order from this company. I may just contact my credit card company and start the dispute process. Very disappointed in their unprofessionalism. This used to be a great place to find unique fun gifts but I will go elsewhere. Disappointing and sad.

A price scam.

I've been an on again off again customer of modcloth for the last couple of years. Never really religiously but I'd order a thing or two then forget about them completely then come back two years later, order a thing or two~ so forth and so on.

I'm currently looking for quirky Christmas tree decorations and I was reminded of Modcloth. I went to their website and the prices on some of the stuff was an absolute joke.

They have this ornament called "Cretaceous Cheer Ornament" which is basically a glittery t-rex ornament. They are selling it for 15 dollars. I got the exact same ornament at Michael's for 5 dollars. It's the Ashland brand. Michael's claims the original price is $12. But as long as I can remember their ornament sale has been going on since the moment they brought the ornaments out. You can search up the ornament on Michael's with: Green Xmas Dinosaur Glass Ornament By Ashland®.

That is a ten dollar markup on Modcloth's end. Which is ridiculous. To some the pictures might look a bit different but I assure you it's the same one. I have it. The only difference is the lighting/general ambiance.

So I started looking at other stuff on their sites. And sure enough a lot of the home decor and quirky items can be found elsewhere for a much better price, primarily Amazon. Do your research, folks.

The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars and not 1 is because the times I have ordered from them they were timely. I just didn't know back then I was getting ripped off.

Avoid this company

I used to order from ModCloth a lot and have been a customer since 2010. I will no longer be ordering from this website because of the issues with processions orders. It looks like everyone else is having the same problem I have. I wish I would have read these reviews before placing my order.
A customer service representative said my order would be here before Christmas but I highly doubt it at this point. Hopefully I can return my order if it ever actually ships and arrives.

Just Don't.

Like everyone else here, my order (placed 11/28) still has not shipped as of 12/10. I ordered a dress, tights, and a necklace for a holiday party more than 3 weeks in advance so I could be sure the dress fit/looked the way I wanted it to.

So far I have chatted with ModCloth support 3 times. The first time was just to find out what was happening, the second time they told me they would upgrade my shipping and the order would go out the next day (it didn't), and finally I asked to cancel my order. It won't arrive on time for my event. I was told orders can only be modified for 60 minutes after ordering. Since countless customers have obviously been inconvenienced and left without their items (and no ETAs) it seems like ModCloth should take some action to change this policy while failing countless customers. It was suggested to me that they send me my order and I just send it back to return it for a refund. I tried explaining that my items were final sale, but either way I have NO IDEA how it's better for anyone to ship items to me (that haven't left yet), just so I can send them back. Your warehouse is obviously behind, don't make them ship my order just so I can send it back. Terrible customer experience as well.

Do not order from Modcloth

Like many others writing reviews here, I am too stuck with an order. I really want to just undo the order. And I wish I had never seen the site.

Customer service doesn't exist for Modcloth. They will tell you that there are many ways of contacting them but there isn't. They will tell you that you can email / call / chat with them ANYTIME! Must be an internal joke for them because you can't. No one ever attends to the chats, the phone call wait is 60+ minutes and you won't get through even then AND no one replies to the emails. So, yea, there is no way.

I ordered more than two weeks ago -- my card has been charged -- there has been no shipping. At this point I just want my money back. Obviously will never shop there. You can shop at a million other places online with very good clothes and shoes. I ordered some stuff from random places China. And they have arrived. What a joke.

There is no need to go to this site.

Buyers Beware: Slow Processing, Laughable Service

Like many others on here, I ordered items at least one week ago and they haven't shipped yet. ModCloth used to be so fast with their service, but over the past few months it's been especially terrible. I waited over two weeks for a return to process, and I'm guessing I'll be lucky to get my order before Christmas even though their "Peek the shipping calendar" link says to order by 12/13 for that guarantee. Ha. This will be the last time I use the site. If you can't trust an order to arrive on-time, what's the point? There are cute clothes elsewhere and better service to boot.

So late I want to cancel but can't --

I submitted two orders, one on November 29, and one on December 1. I have received neither, and the first one is especially important because I'm moving out of house before the package will arrive. This is ridiculous. I've tried emailing support -- they haven't replied to my emails, and it's been a week. I can't get through on the phone lines because the lines are clogged and wait times are so long. The online chat system crashes before I can reach a representative. It really seems like they just don't care and/or are scamming us. I guess Modcloth switched management -- I was once a longtime customer, ordering my Christmas presents here every year for the past 3-4 years, but I won't be using them anymore. Now I'm just trying to cancel my orders, and I can't even do that because no one from this company will respond to me.

Edit: Thanks for the response. But the phone wait times are still over an hour long, and that's just the estimate they give me when I call.

Purchased an item 9 days ago

Purchased an item 9 days ago. Not shipped not received. Not even an order confirmation. Hopefully its here before Christmas. It's a gift for a 9 year old girl. Did receive an email saying it was delayed due to high volume. Funny everyone says the same thing here. First and last order. Every company is busy but things arrive on my doorstep timely. Thankfully its paid through PayPal. Do not order from this place.
