I had never been on a dating app before and I signed up and paid for one month to see if I liked it. 5 days after signing up, I got an email saying I had been banned for using automated data. All I did was switch from my cell phone to my laptop and do a little editing to my profile.

I went through the ban appeal process and 4 days later I got an email saying that my email did not exist as an account with them. I filed a second appeal and attached evidence of their correspondence with me and that I did indeed have an email account with them. That was 2 weeks ago and I have not received a response. My subscription expires in 2 days.

I reached out to customer service to cancel my subscription and they said I needed to log into my account to do so. I can't log into my account because I've been blocked from using it. I decided to dispute my original credit card charge and leave the 4 gentlemen I had been corresponding with thinking I had ghosted them.

Their system is set up in such a way that if you switch devices you could be banned or blocked permanently. I can't really review their entire website accurately because I wasn't on there long enough to experience it. I can say that you can be banned and blocked from using your account for absolutely no reason and they have a terrible customer service response. No matter what I sent them, the automated response says you have to go through the ban appeal process, which I have already done twice.

I looked this problem up online and I am not the only one this has happened to. Some people had never even gotten to post their profile and they've been blocked permanently. Be aware of this possibility before you sign up!!

Awful website that really should be shut down and money refunded. They should be throughly investigated.

I paid for a six-month Premium subscription, which remains active until November, and unfortunately my experience has been increasingly disappointing.

Firstly, the search/matching preferences don’t seem to be reliably respected. I have set preferences including the age range I’m interested in and the distance I’m prepared to travel, yet I am repeatedly shown people who fall outside those parameters. Having since looked at other reviews, I can see that I’m not the only customer reporting this problem. It rather defeats the purpose of being asked to specify your dating preferences if the service then repeatedly ignores them.

More recently, I wanted to take a break from dating and simply make my profile invisible temporarily. I don’t want my subscription extended or the clock stopped — I’m perfectly happy for it to expire on its original date in November. I just don’t want my profile being shown to potential dates while I’m not looking to date.

Match Customer Care has now confirmed to me in writing that “apart from using private mode, there are no other options to make your profile invisible to all members.”

Private Mode costs extra. So despite already having a paid Premium subscription, my choices are apparently to remain visible, pay an additional fee to become invisible, or delete my account and lose the remaining period of the subscription I’ve already paid for.

I’m not asking to browse Match anonymously while hiding myself. I’m asking not to use the service at all for a while and not to be advertised to other members during that time. Other dating apps manage to provide a straightforward pause/snooze function.

I asked Customer Care to escalate this as a formal complaint. That request was ignored and I simply received another response reiterating that Private Mode was the only option.

Between preferences that don’t appear to be properly respected and being unable to temporarily remove my profile from visibility without paying even more money, I don’t feel the Premium subscription has provided the service I expected.

I certainly wouldn’t purchase another subscription on the basis of my experience.

I created a profile on Match.com, I then paid for the diamond membership. Immediately after paying for the diamond membership I was not able to log in and I received a message that sated "blocked" in red.

I checked with my bank, there were no issues there, Match.com had been paid.

I then attempted to contact customer support...I kept getting automated responses that had nothing to do with my issue.

I attempted to reset my password - but would never receive an email to actually reset my password.

I then received a response stating I had to fill out a form that was associated with people who have been banned for violating behavioral practices or removed content from your profile. Looking at the form, it stated there could be up to 6 months before a resolution. I attempted to explain that I was not "banned" for inappropriate behavior because I was never able to log in to demonstrate any behavior at all... I then received a very rude response redirecting me back to that form and telling me they considered this mater resolved.

DO NOT TRUST THIS SITE!! GO ELSEWHERE!! There is way too much competition for this to be acceptable behavior!!

match.com is absolutely lame. use any other dating site than match.com. i created an account. no foul language or suggestive photo. in 15 minutes i was logged out and could not log back in. several requests were made for an explanation. the idiots replied that the account has been closed with no explanation.

Save you time and money! A complete bust! You basically have to initiated the conversations just to discover the person is a liar…by their own admissions! The most said part about it…it takes almost 10-15 minutes to cancel your subscription. You have a better chance meeting a match in Walmart than on this platform. Worthless… just a money scam!

I have used Match multiple times over the years and it used to be a great platform to meet people. Unfortunately, it has completely gone downhill.I recently paid for a 3-month subscription, but the features I signed up for are not what Match actually granted me access to. I even sent their customer support a photo of the subscription feature list proving the discrepancy. Instead of fixing the issue, they sent me multiple emails giving me a complete runaround.Once this company has your money, they refuse to rectify their mistakes. It is incredibly disappointing because I used to like this site. Save your money. I will absolutely not be returning once my current subscription runs out!

Match, and most online dating, used to be great, but now they all are horrible. Match is the worst, they are 100% aware of "FAKE" profiles, but they don't care. ZERO customer service, a big waste of time, I encourage you to waste theirs. Pay the minimum amount with a credit card, then dispute the charge as soon as you get a FAKE profile match. It costs them money to respond to the dispute, and it's free for you. I am optimistic that one day, an honest online dating site/app will exist for a small fee.

You will never never never ever ever, ever ever be able to talk to any customer service live person.
Everything is automated FAQ question and answer listings.
It also takes research to discover that your credit card will be billed at auto renewal. Then more research to discover how to turn off auto renewal

I just signed up for match.com a couple of days ago and it's terrible. It's actually worse than the free ones because there are so many glitches and no support.
I've already cancelled my subscription. Sure wish I could get my money back. What a rip-off!

If I could give zero stars I would. This is the most pathetic dating app I’ve experienced. I out a dealbreaker location as a filter and none of it is being recognized. For the amount I paid I’m sooooooo disgusted with the app and general appeal… literally like when does the trash take itself out. Working on finding a way to comment to Match.com directly to get some sort of reimbursement for the inadequate behavior I’ve experienced. I tried this years afi with disgusting outcomes and here i am again with pathetic and repetitive disgusting excuses for men.

This is one of the worst. They have changed their app and it has deteriorated so badly. Do not waste your money on it. All they are concerned about is getting your money. They’re awful customer service replies with answers that have nothing to do with your question.

Renewed for 3 months platinum July 4th. Tried to send a message but "Upgrade to Diamond for an extra US$36.66/month" popped up.
What is going on? What's the use of having a platinum subscription. It states you can send unlimited messages with platinum. Now they are saying you can't send messages unless you have a Diamond subscription. What a scam.
Thankfully they gave me a 50% subscription discount. I will let the subscription run down. I will not renew again. Match used to be pretty decent, 5 to 6 out of 10 but say over the past couple of years, it's completely gone downhill. I have noticed so many fake profiles that it's become ridiculous. Its been taken over by AI, scammers, algorithms etc. Match don't care and I believe they are part of the problem and doing the dark arts themselves. Please stay away and save your money. You will not find your Match on here.

Don't bother creating a profile, because they will eventually block and ban you, claiming you violated some erroneous agreement term. They do this in order to add your profile to their inactive profile bank. These inactive profiles are the only profiles they use, because no one is paying anymore, because they are a SCAM SITE! I'm THRILLED they, The Match Group, have lost TONS of money, because of their fraudulent business practices. I can't wait til they fold and have to sell. Hoping this happens soon!

Dreadful customer service- rather than helping me unlock my account and reset my password to try to get in and pay for my subscription/ the banned me😳what?!??!!!🫤needless to say I am going elsewhere…

I joined yesterday. Site is not working and I have not been able to access it since i gave my charge info.

I tried to rejoin match and it locked me out. I contacted customer service and they said they would reset my password. Then I got an email that said I was banned. I don't know why, but I'm thinking it's because I kept trying to login. It looked like an auto generated email. Poor customer service!
