Very very rude reception staff especially a lady called Sue 4 people waiting in a que to be seen but she wouldn't let that put her off eating her sandwich when she finally acknowledged us it obvious we were an inconvenience to her just a nod off the head not how can I help you disgusting experience

we recently stayed at Lyons winkups
Easter weekend
Arrived on the Friday myself husband son girlfriend and 2 children aged 10 & 2
We was issued our keys for our caravan
That had been changed as the number was crossed out then changed
We booked a gold grade as we wanted the central heating due to the 2 year old
Arrived at the caravan wasn’t impressed
I own 2 caravans at Blackpool silver grade
My 2 are like Buckingham palace if yours was supposed to be gold
No decking no patio doors
Very badly marked walls in every room
Carpet was absolutely disgusting
Bathroom smelt musty
The kitchen bin was very badly moulded at the bottom inside
The toaster didn’t work cups were badly stained cutlery tarnished had to buy bleach to wash them
All night long trains running along the back off the caravan keeping us all awake
Friday evening we went in the entertainment room with our grandchildren
The entertainment team were full on keeping the kids from sitting on the stage
Pity they didn’t stop the children playing football on the dance floor
We were sat next to the dance floor so we could keep a close watch on the children
I picked my drink up my husband had just bought next thing as I was going to take a drink and bang straight in my face with the ball causing me to drop the drink all in my hair and all down my clothes
Wasn’t happy at all
We ended up going back to the caravan at 9pm
We checked out Sunday tea time as we couldn’t stand the noise off the trains in the night time and wasn’t prepared to sleep another night there
Overall we all enjoyed our time in wales only when we went offsite
And can safely say we will never return to winkups site again

My wife contacted Lyons today to inquire about a dog-friendly caravan for our upcoming trip. We were initially quoted £269 for a caravan, but upon requesting a dog-friendly option, the total cost inexplicably jumped to £400 for a "gold" caravan. This left us confused, especially since a standard dog-friendly caravan (presumably at a lower price) was apparently available.

To clarify the situation, we contacted Lyons. Unfortunately, despite being promised a call back, we haven't heard back from them.

We hope Lyons will address this lack of transparency regarding dog-friendly caravan pricing and provide a clearer explanation. If they offer a solution that includes a standard dog-friendly option at the initially quoted price or provide a satisfactory explanation for the upsell, we'd be happy to adjust our rating.

Loved the holiday, facilities and van amazing and did meet alot of lovely friendly staff. Only bug bare the receptionist (dark haired older lady) rude obnoxious made u feel like you are bothering her with ur mere presence! 3 times tried to over charge us for passes even when I used my phone to show her she was wrong she huffed and slammed her calculator in my face and was wrong...no apology just huffed and amended the nearly 20 pound extra she was trying to charge us. We are not the only ones either as some friends of ours who came the week before comented on how rude reception worker had been If this is the first face u see when you start you're holiday she really does kill the vibe. Sorry but it really did put a downer on things and makes you feel you can't approach reception and be taken seriously.

My family have been on Lyon’s moelfre view for 23 years and 15 of those in our beloved family static caravan. For Lyon’s to take over our site and kick everyone and ourselves off due to the caravans ages. When previous owners have never cared as long as caravans were looked after by the owners they were happy. It’s absolutely disgusting how Lyon’s treat their customers who have been paying their bills to this site for so long and to just ruin families lives like this!!! Especially when it’s been our lives and we’ve grown up here from a young age!! You’ve hurt so many people all because you only care about the money you’re getting!! And to make the site look more modern!! Vile people!!

Been on 25 plus sun £9.50 HOLIDAYS AND CAN HONESTLY SAY THE STAFF HERE ARE THE MOST IGNORENT PEOPLE I'VE MET never will I go here again

Avoid this Company LYONS, nothing but sharks, even going to Sunny Sands 50 years as a child with my parents, brought our own Caravan there 4 years ago to be told at the end of this season bye bye your van is to old even tho we renovated the Caravan new floors, our own 3 piece ect new Decking at a cost of £4000 all to go all they are concerned about is sell Caravans and have no regard for the very people who are already paying the same ground rent as the new people arriving, Sunny Sand is no more, entertainment at the club is virtually non existent, the swimming pool is a no fun Zone, no slide, no activity game miserable staff, Boring says it all, the site is like a building site where there putting ground plots down for new Caravans without a thought of the people having to look out on this, concrete, electric boxes waste pipes all over the empty plots, I have to leave my memories behind as it’s Sunny Sands no more giving them £18000 ground rent for the 4 years we been there, so I have to say thanx for the memories of the old Owners Meads Family and bye bye LYONS we taking our money elsewhere who look after everyone not just the people they can talk into buying there Caravans, onto pastures new. AVOID.

PLEASE AVOID LYONS!!!! Lyon’s by far are the worst holiday owners and managers we have ever been with!! Since we’ve had ownership on our van since the previous owners and they were outstanding but since Lyon’s brought the parks it’s gone downhill. They are extremely rude they are forcing us of the park we really don’t want to leave but they are leaving us with no choice we have only been here 3\ half years. And also the staff are ignorant all over . Arcade bloke is a miserable individual rude to my of my young family members his 7!!! . Lyon’s only care about profits & money not about customers and owners. Bar staff don’t interact with customers unless it’s to tell you how much it cost never has a smile on there face. PLEASE DO NOT BUY A VAN OR BOOK a holiday. it’s not how it was a few years ago. We’ve been coming to the same place for 50 years but enough is enough. You’re a disgrace LYONS from the owners all over the staffing board. Selling rubbish vans for £10k +. I was going to buy a new van on the park but now looking at other companies that value there customers and owners and want to leave this company in the past. Cowboys.

Do not buy a caravan from this company, once they have your money they completely ignore any faults with the van. The Managers and staff are very rude and agressive if you go to them with complaints. Indeed it seems company policy to only employ agressive staff.
The edge of their sites are used as rubbish dumps even saw rats on them. Not had my van long,but a selling it.
Bought for relaxing holidays, no way that happens.
I'm surpised they win awards. Does not the Welsh tourist board check these sites?

Had a lovely stay for 5 nights there was 6 of us for my mums birthday children had a wonderful time lots to do. Tho I had a problem with 1 staff member at the arcades who was very rude to me in front of everyone. I had won on 1 machine was told to come back next day to be paid when I came back he kept telling me different times to come back 4 times I was back he was very rude to me infront of everyone and my 2 children plus I'm 7 months pregnant how ever after talking to the security staff who was very kind and sorted it I was able to get my money the next day. Apart from that had a lovely time and all other staff were very nice

Absolutely shocking from start to finish. We arrived late so didnt get in to the caravan until after reception had closed. It was dirty, with sand on the window cills and lego on the floor of the bedroom. The caravan itself was right next to the train track and vibrated every 15mins when a train passed. The noise was also so load it woke my 3 year old up each time and he was in tears. His room also stunk of smoke, even though it was a 'no smoking' van. The bathroom light didn't work, so we had to use a torch.

We went to reception the next day and were told (by the receptionist as the manager wouldnt speak to us) that all they could do move us to a 'premium caravan' and charge us £160 for the privilege! They didn't even offer to fix the light in the bathroom.

We ended up leaving a day early as the noise was so bad from the trains. AVOID THIS PARK AND THEIR STAFF!

Following up this experience up, we sent an email to the complaints department, who took 9 days to reply, and eventually came back saying, 'sorry, but hope you come back'.... inept isn't the word!

I stayed at winkups and on our last day we had a problem. I went to reception to ask for some advice and met the rudest person ever. How she is a receptionist is beyond me! She didn't want to know and the way she spoke down to me was a disgrace,kept interupting and waving me away. Luckily a sales lady in the back office heard the way I was being spoken to and came out to help. I loved the caravan we were in but apart from the rude receptionist the bin area was a mess and hadnt been tidied all week and the park stunk of weed. Also there was a lot of things shut on the park which I had been told would be open during school holidays. I visit Towyn every year but will not be returning to Winkups.

On looking for a holiday home we decided to call at Woodlands hall Ruthin
On arrival staff were friendly and introduced us to Danny
He was friendly and not a pushy salesman he was very patient and showed us around the statics that were available, we picked one and he all was sorted out
We picked a plot we liked and he went out of his way to get the turn around time to a minimum to ensure we could start using
On handover there were a few snags but again Danny and Kate had them all done within 24 hours
We are now settled into our new holiday home and love the site

Atrocious customer service. Say they have informed you of things when they haven't. Nothing open. Not much entertainment. The caravan was amazing, shame about the rest. Won't return

What can I say about this company..We booked into.a hotel in Wales..Nat Hall for New Year! Paid a deposit for 6 people £60..2 weeks before new year they called us to say it was cancelled and we would get our deposit back!..No explanation..Just a sorry for such short notice! So we still haven't received our money back...Bad enough they left it so late we would be hard pushed to find another new year party.. We had family flying in from Cornwall..so disappointed. So 5 months later and lots of copies of receipts sent..emails bla bla . Lots of phone calls still no refund..This company couldn't care less! Its march 3rd 2023 and they still ask for copies..I swore that if they didn't sort it out 2 days ago..I would write a review...still no refund...So here we are...Rubbish ...Robbing ...unprofessional liers!!!

A word of warning for anyone thinking of buying from this group .....DONT DO IT !!! #we bought 5 yrs ago , put on a small pitch that we paid reduced rates for we were very happy till we got this years fees now over £5000 , we questioned this only to be told they no longer think our pitch is a reduced price one as they say its the same a all the others , we fought to get this changed as we get no sun no grass grows and no car parking space but no we had to pay full price, this went on over Christmas and when we rang after the holidays we were then told we couldn't even have the £300 pound discount for early payment !!! as we had missed the cut off date, we decided to give up and sell the van .... not allowed to sell privately or to a private trader , offered £1000 from their trader , we then voluntary terminated our finance and handed the keys back. Fast forward 2 weeks the van is now for sale £19995 with free site fees for the new season !!! Some poor sole will buy this not realising it will cost them £40000 over the 5 years it has left on site

The keys code that the owner gave us was wrong and we lost one night stay as he could not remember the right code. We also waited for him to give us the right key code under the cold and rainy weather outside. very filthy dirty caravan
There was loads of owner’s stuffs and toys dumped in the wardrobe and and dust all over the places.
Under the couch was loads of cigarettes butts, dirty used wound plasters and Left over minced pie under the coach.
filthy toilets and showers, poo stained on the wall. Strong smell of urine in the toilet.
filthy kitchen items ,fridge stinks 🤮cooking oils left overs on cooking utensils.
Loads of bread crumbs underneath rusty toaster.
Cooking oils all over the cooker and oven.
Couch stained with muds and animal hairs all over.
Bed not comfortable, bed sheets so dirty, my kids hated to sleep on the bed.

Just purchased my second static caravan from Mike Hughes at Lyons Winkups Holiday Park in Towyn.

I wouldn't buy a caravan from anyone else, Mike is reliable and a man of his word. Since buying my first from him, I've gone on to recommend friends who have bought 5 other properties between them.

Mike made the whole process a smooth one from start to finish and as a busy businessman & family man I was grateful to Mike for taking the stress away from me.

Special mention to park manager Jason Davies for his help input and help.

Don't even want to give 1 star! The chalet was filthy and I spent our first day cleaning it. There was dust everywhere, the kettle and toaster were dirty, as where the cutlery and plates. One of the couches was covered in what I can only describe as "blood looking" and the place looked as if it was dragged from the 70's. There was no light in the toilet, which wasn't much bigger than an aeroplane one. The beds were just springs with minging sheets over and all of the carpets smelled foul. The fridge wasn't cold and the cooker and grill never worked properly. The cheese grater was rusty too. The whole caravan needs a whole bleaching!
The site itself was dirty, rubbish strewn everywhere as as for the pools, I've seen cleaner canals! I will never use this place again and I would not recommend it to anyone.

the caravan we stayed in was amazing which is more than I can say for the park we rented a caravan for activities which the park ended up canceling. we went to the swimming pool and I couldn't believe the state the changing rooms were in.I ended up walking out because I was not going to subject my children to that. We went to prestaven sands last year and what a difference it was a much more enjoyable experience
