We had previously visited your site a…
We had previously visited your site a year ago and had an amazing time, which is why we decided to return this year on 26th June 2026 however, after the experience we have had this time, we will unfortunately not be returning again.
Upon arrival, we discovered an ant nest in the front room of the caravan all over the side of the sofa. This meant our 1-year-old daughter was unable to properly enjoy being inside the caravan, and it was extremely unpleasant and worrying for us as parents. There was a letter left on the table about ants due to the weather but this is poor excuse as we didnt have this last year and also it wouldnt be the amount we have had in that caravan ot was literally a ant nest which we should of been told about before arriving by email. We raised this issue and asked for something to be done, but the response we received from security and then reception made us feel like our concerns were not taken seriously. We were told there were no other caravans available, leaving us with no option but to stay for the night.
We had travelled around 2 and a half hours to get there, and as it was too late to drive home, we had no choice but to stay the night in these conditions. This resulted in us wasting a significant amount of money on a 4 night weekend that was meant to be a family break.
The condition of the caravan was also unacceptable. There were stains and marks throughout, including on the sheets and units, the units were sticky with coffee stains and it wasnt hovered or mopped. The bathroom had someones shaved beard all over the sink and hair all over the shower which made the accommodation feel unclean and not up to the standard we expected the reception at that time was closed and no out of ours phone number.
The swimming pool experience was another major disappointment. We were told the site was short staffed so they out everyone in baby pool but older children (around 10+ years old) were allowed into the baby pool area and were repeatedly splashing water into our daughter’s face which made our daughter choke at one point and cry. The lifeguards appeared to see this happening but did nothing to intervene. There were also adults playing around with their older children in the pool area with a hard ball which made it unsafe and uncomfortable for families with babies and younger children. The pool itself also appeared dirty and poorly maintained.
The entertainment on Friday evening was also upsetting. We were approached and spoken to in an aggressive manner by another guest regarding where we were sitting, as they wanted the front seats, despite there being multiple seats available. This made us feel uncomfortable and affected our enjoyment of the evening.
Overall, we are extremely disappointed with the standard of cleanliness, customer service, and the way our concerns were handled. We returned because of the positive experience we had previously, but unfortunately this visit has completely changed our opinion of the site.

I went to take a seat on the sofa in the living room and found that every single seat had the most ridiculous giant stains on them I've ever seen, I cleaned it myself so obviously they didn't clean anything beforehand despite the seal on the door.
One of the duvets was really dirty which nearly gave me insomnia for the first night I sat there.
Then I checked the fridge and quickly found it didn't cool anything adequately, the water dispenser mihht as well have been decoration because it didn't work at all. Not to help that the freezer had dirty ice in it, probably old.
Then I turn my head upwards and notice the light fixture was cracked as if someone had punched it.
And there was no bin in the bathroom either... and the radiators were rusty so I definitely wasn't going to put my clothes on there.
I wish I could rate this place negative 5 stars
Shocking complaint team and process
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally escalate my complaint regarding my stay at Lyons Robin Hood Holiday Park from 18–22 May 2026.
Despite repeatedly requesting that my complaint be reviewed by a senior manager or director, my request has been ignored. Instead, I have received repeated responses from the same individual, Paula Hughes, who has declined to address several key issues and has failed to confirm whether any escalation has taken place.
The issues complained about include:
• A broken wardrobe door that injured both of my children and was never repaired during our stay despite being reported.
• Used sanitary products left in a child’s bedroom.
• Mould on living room curtains.
• Bedding that was in an unacceptable condition, including missing pillowcases.
• Concerns regarding the suitability and temperature of the swimming pool changing facilities for families with babies and young children.
• Misrepresentation of events, including the assertion that alternative accommodation was offered and declined, which I categorically dispute.
I am extremely disappointed by both the original failings during our holiday and the subsequent handling of my complaint. The responses provided have not addressed the substance of my concerns and no meaningful investigation appears to have been undertaken.
I now request:
1. Confirmation that this complaint has been escalated to a senior manager or director who has had no prior involvement.
2. A copy of your formal complaints procedure.
3. A final written response addressing each issue raised.
4. Details of any alternative dispute resolution process available should we remain unable to resolve this matter.
Should I not receive a substantive response within 14 days, I will consider the internal complaints process exhausted and will pursue the matter through external channels, including Citizens Advice, Trading Standards and, if appropriate, the County Court.
I look forward to your prompt response.
Yours faithfully,
Gemma
I'd give no stars if I could
I'd give no stars if I could. Impossible to get in touch with anyone. Booking. Com took my payment for a pet free caravan only for me to get a phone call saying all they have left is a caravan that's had dogs in and from the lady's expression clearly a mess. I am very allergic to fur so the caravan isn't suitable. I've gone round in circles whilst trying to work 10 hour days in a school. As a single mum 400 pounds is such a lot to loose but booking. Com say they've contacted Lyons and can't get any response despite the lady who rang who has now gone on annual leave saying her colleague would deal with the situation. Booking. Com have said they are taking the full amount paid regardless because they can't get a response from Lyons. I've ended up really upset at work and at home and have 2 upset little boys whose holiday excitement has been destroyed. I will take this further you can't just take 400 pounds of my money when you can't provide the caravan that I booked it's false advertising. Do you know how hard I work for 400 pounds :(. Definitely don't book Lyons beach Prestatyn via booking. Com. Staff have been unhelpful and rude and have pretended that they don't understand me and wondered why I'm stressed who wouldn't be, my litte boys holiday is ruined I can't go on holiday to be ill because of pets previously being in the caravan. No one is helping or answering the phones. I don't have an hour to sit waiting for an answer to calls when i work full time in a classroom. What a nightmare 🤯 A person I spoke to via the Chester number even suggested it may be a scam but it was an excuse to get rid of me and a false promise to follow this up just as I expected she said she'd email me with her actions, I took her name and will be following this up too. An absolutely exhausting day. Please can senior management look at this. How can you as a company be so cruel as to misadvertise and then destroy children's holidays and do absolutely nothing to put it right. Absolutely shocking but I will pursue this until I get the right outcome. I've done absolutely nothing wrong and do not deserve this stress. If you let caravans with booking. Com then clearly you are in communication with each other so what is the issue in informing booking. Com by replying to the message they've sent you simply asking you to verify that you in fact do not have the pet free caravan available. My documentation says i booked a pet free one so please can you sort this out. I won't hold my breath for your response but equally I will not give up. Tomorrow I will call citizens advice regarding this.
BAD EXPERIENCE - AVOID THIS COMPANY
I had an incident where my van was vandalized last year at one of the holiday parks. It was one of their permanent residents. Having reported this to the police and their head office, nothing was done about it at all. The police came back with their usual response of "We can't really do anything" and despite asking their head office to intervene and take action, they allegedly 'Took care of it internally'. I asked Paula (the area manager) to involve their Managing Director Geoffrey Lyons-Mound, and I was hoping for some action to be taken towards the owner of this caravan, but I just got a the response of "We will deal with this internally". They claimed that they would deal with it 'internally' due to GDPR rules. Well that (in my opinion) is not good enough. I was left with a damaged vehicle by one of their permanent residents and they did nothing about it. I have been using Lyons for years, I even have a caravan at a non-Lyons caravan site. One thing is for sure, reading the comments on here and with my recent experience, I will never spend another penny with this company ever again. Their customer service is diabolical and having had that experience with their permanent resident, it shows that as long as you are paying them a monthly income, they don't care about anything else. If you are reading this and contemplating buying a static caravan off them, firstly I would say read the reviews. As they don't care about the caliber of permanent residents they have there, I would definite think again if you are think of owning a caravan with them. You might have the same experience I did through no fault of your own. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
False advertising. Not clean. Staff unfriendly

I'd give less than 1 star the staff on the soft play area are shocking and for the pool area they wants sacking absolutely shocking behaviour 40 pounds to swim for less than an hour in a shit hole of a swimming area what a dump

This mob should be called Liars instead of Lyons.
They'll over promise until they have your money, then they lie and cheat and rip you off.
Don't trust these fraudsters at all.
Unprofessional and Cheater
I made a holiday booking but due to a family emergency, we are unable to proceed with the trip. According to the cancellation policy stated on your website (/cancellation/), cancellations made more than 15 days before arrival are eligible for at least a 50% refund.
However, when I tried to contact your team to discuss this, my calls were disconnected and they are saying it is non refundable. This has been very frustrating and feels unprofessional.
I kindly request that you review my booking and process the refund in accordance with the cancellation policy. Please contact me as soon as possible so we can resolve this matter.
I owned a static caravan in Snowdonia
I owned a static caravan in Snowdonia, had 8 lovely years of memory making then Lyons took over. The site became nothing like it was previously and despite promises that older caravans, providing they were in good condition could go onto a yearly contract (still stated on their website) this meant absolutely nothing. Our Static was 19 years old, we were badgered to pay next years fees early to get a £300 discount. We did this, then 2 weeks later we were rung by the site to say either upgrade or move off, the upgrades were not in half as good condition as our van and they wanted us to pay ridiculous amounts for the privilege. We finished up walking away. It took us 6 weeks to get our advanced fees back. This company do not care about their customers one bit.

Bought a caravan last Summer with the help of Shannon Harrison. I have to say she was absolutely brilliant throughout the process. No pushy sales tactics, no rushing and pressure. She was professional and is always on hand even now with any questions I may have. Sale went through smoothly with no issues. If anyone is thinking of taking the plunge and investing in a lovely home from home, please don't hesitate to speak to Shannon Harrison and Winkups.
DO NOT BUY A CARAVAN FROM THESE PIRAYES
Please, please do not buy a caravan from lyons holidays based in Towyn - Rhyl. The sales team are very good at selling you 'The Dream' however, once you have given them your hard earned money then things do down hill very quickly. Michael Hughes, the sales manager (calling him a manager is a joke) is absolutely worse than useless, he's a liar, a bully and just not a nice person. After sales service is horrendous, repairs take months to fix, if ever, nobody answers emails, when calling the person you need to speak to isn't there and they never return your calls. Visit them and they promise the earth but nothing gets resolved. Selling your caravan back to them is just horrendous. It's taken over 10 months to sort this and they gave me less than £5000 for a caravan we aid £38000 just 4 years earlier. You can't sell the caravan on site and if you want to move the caravan they charge you £1000's to disconnect it. Please look else where and don't believe the sales patter especially from Michael Hughes.
Disgraceful company
Disgraceful company. Buy a caravan and everything they say is writing or verbal is false. They tell customers what they want to hear and when your tied in bump the prices up way past what they put in writing.
DO NOT Buy From These Pirates!
Would give lyons less than 1 star if possible. Please, please do not buy a caravan from these pirates. The sale team are brilliant at their job, they sell you the 'dream' and take your money off you. However, after sales is worse than useless. Please do not have anything to do with the spineless joke of a bloke called Michael Hughes. He is a liar, a bit of a bully and absolutely useless at his job. Lyons will sell you a caravan for £40000 and offer you 10% of that cost when buying back even if it is within a couple of years. Bought a caravan 4 years ago for £38000 and have been offered £5000 for it. The caravan is in immaculate condition and probably worth £25000 at least. They won't
Allow you to sell the caravan on site and will charge you a fortune to disconnect it if you want to move it. Please stay away. I have heard many, many, stories about lyons and Michael Hughes and they are all very negative. Leave well alone and buy from a proper company not these Scam artists.
Lyons winkups Towyn, North Wales
Lyons winkups, Towyn, Abergele, Wales. Booked for 4 nights and came home after second night. Absolutely appalling, first caravan smelt like a thousand ash trays, stunk of stale fags. YUK. I complained and they eventually moved us to a different caravan which was supposedly being cleaned. On entering the second caravan we was greeted with the sight of a dirty spotted stained carpet which had a 2 beautiful curry stains winking at us by the seating area. No net curtains whatsoever so no privacy at all. There was some sort of old used tissue paper underneath the main bedroom bed, I was not going to investigate that any further. In one of the side bedrooms there was an old dirty spoon under the bed. Could have sworn they said it was being cleaned ! The door to the shower cubicle was falling to bits , the glass was coming away from the actual door panel, there was mould in the corner of the shower and along the bottom of the shower where the door slides back n forth. Could have sworn they said they were cleaning it ! This gets better 👍 on entering the small toilet there is a small radiator situated right next to the toilet. absolutely fine, however someone must of had the misfortune of having the screaming ab dabs which departed their anus at the speed of a Ferrari so completely missed the toilet and inadvertently squirted there intestine juices all over it in a pebble dash fashion. Yuk. ( photos to prove ) also I could not find anywhere on there website where it stated that our caravan would be situated right next to the train line ( photos to prove ) so every half hour or every 5 minutes after that a train shook our caravan like Mount Etna was erupting. This was extremely exciting starting at 04:30 in the morning and lasting till 23:30 at night. Absolutely perfect if you wanted a nice quiet relaxing holiday. NOT.
Dirty rubbish all over the caravan site and broken glass seen in several places. Not great if you have dogs. Would I recommend this place to anyone umm not even to my worst enemy ! Shocking standards !
Customer Service
large woman with black hair im guessing who was the manager inside the arcade was uncooperative, also extremely rude refused to help us out. Would not recommend coming here with such horrible staff.
Would give them less than one star for…
Would give them less than one star for customer service if I could. DO NOT BUY A CARAVAN FROM LYONS!! No care, no consideration, absolute pirates. We have been waiting nearly 6 months for them to contact us about buying back a caravan after my parent who owned the caravan died. The caravan has remained empty and unused and they have still charged the full site fees even though I have phoned and emailed them over 30 times over the past 6 months. Nobody ever returns a call. Went to visit them and spoke to the sales manager and he was worse than useless. Promised he would have it sorted within 2 weeks, that was 3 weeks ago and although I have emailed him on numerous occasions and sent him all the relevant information he still hasn’t bothered to contact me. Caravan was bought for £34000 about 4 years ago and the sales manager said they would offer us about £5000 for it. He couldn’t even be bothered to come and view it, he just said I’ve got 5 sites I’m not bothered about that caravan. When buying the van they were on the phone every other day but when we want to get this sorted they couldn’t care less. I have recently talked to two other owners on the same site and they are trying to sell their caravan back to Lyons and they are having the same problems. The sales manager actually said to one of the other owners that he will buy his caravan for £5000 and probably sell it for over £22000. What a way to treat customers.
Took nearly £30000 and that's not…
Took nearly £30000 and that's not including site fees then after promising refused to buy back and offered just £742 in scrap after a year so they could resell it on for profit. Absolute SCAMMERS!whatever you do DO NOT BUY from these!!!!
