Having not used Llama travel before, I became aware of you after extensive research on the internet. Although most adventures to Botswana came out at a similar cost, Llama are the only company whose price included the international flights.

Accepting that the standard of service would be an unknown, we decided to book with Llama.

What a surprise!

From the outset (booking and making some amendments to the stated itinerary) the level of service and communication have been exemplary. As the departure date approached, I had a few detailed questions about the holiday, namely:
Would our bags be checked through from Heathrow to Main (ie. Transferred at Johannesburg)?
What currency would we need for Botswana?
The Arrival form to be completed at Main?

All my enquiries were replied to comprehensively and in a matter of hours. A level of service that I much appreciated.

Throughout the holiday, everyone we encountered were courteous, informed and extremely helpful. All transfers were punctual, comfortable and our bags were dealt with for us.

The lodges and rooms were comfortable, had all the necessary amenities and all meals were of a very high standard.

Having selected a mobile, tented safari with Letaka, we were somewhat surprised to find the level of comfort that was provided. Our Guide (Vincent) deserves a special mention. He met us at the Khwai airstrip and from that point onwards, he attended to our every need. He was with us for the full 6 days and was extremely knowledgable about the wildlife, plants and culture of the country. The other members of the Letaka team were similarly efficient, courteous and did everything they could to make it an unforgettable experience. Our chef, De Clerk produced a stunning array of food from his camp kitchen and we still don’t quite believe it!

Coincidentally, when in Victoria Falls, we met a woman who was on her third Llama travel holiday. During our conversation, it became apparent that our experience was not just a one-off. She was similarly impressed with the value for money and level of service provided by Llama.

This was the most wonderful holiday to Costa Rica. We traveled to San Jose then spent time in Tortuguero, La Fortuna, the Cloud Forest and finally Manuel Antonio. All the hotels were of a very high standard, set in the rainforest in Tortuguero, at the foot of the Arenal volcano, in the misty cloud forest and on the edge of the Manuel Antonio National Park. The wildlife was thrilling and abundant and our guides , Diego, Jorge, Ronny and Brandon were absolutely outstanding without exception. Their love for their country and staggering knowledge about the fauna and flora was truly inspirational. Activities were extremely well organised and reasonably priced, exhilarating zip lining, guided day and night walks in the jungle, boat trips through primary rainforest and a once in a lifetime whale watching trip were particular highlights.
The service from Llama was brilliant. They were very helpful when enquiries arose and the holiday ran like clockwork meaning we could relax and enjoy this most beautiful country.

Amazing 50th Birthday treat to Costa Rica!
We have just come back from Costa Rica, having completed the 11 days Best of Costa Rica tour. Wow!! What an experience, everything was perfect, an amazing experience professionally put together with great attention to details. Otto and the Llama team were very communicative and supportive whilst booking the holiday, the same fantastic level of customer service continued throuout the holiday. All the guides were very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. All the accommodations were great and the tours were fantastic.
What a way to celebrate my 50th birthday! We have had a blast and made lifelong memories. One regret ... not having booked the extension trip to Manuel Antonio...but hey one way to remediate ... book another trip with Llama Travel!

We have just arrived home from the most wonderful holiday exploring Peru. Huge thanks to Otto and the team at Llama Travel for the expert and faultless organisation of our trip. They were able to easily taylor the trip exactly how we wanted it, changing excursions and hotels to suit our needs, even at short notice when we requested to stay an extra night at Machu Picchu only a few weeks before the holiday! The tour guides in Peru were all very friendly and knowledgable (special shout out to Rosalio, our guide for four days through the Sacred Valley, the Short Inca Trail and Machu Picchu, he was incredible!) This trip was a real dream come true for my husband’s 50th birthday and we will not hesitate to book through Llama Travel for our next adventure!

This trip to India was no exception. Faultless from beginning to end. Excellent tour guides, fantastic accommodation and flexible travel itineraries so you can choose the perfect trip.

Great organisation with everything during the tour and everything was taken care of for us.

Small group which also helps as you can really get to know people and enjoy the shared experiences. It gives you more time with your tour guides as they can communicate better with a smaller group.

A great travel experience and most guests on the tour with us had also previously booked llama. So it’s reassuring to be going with a company you know and trust and with an excellent past record with providing enriching travel experiences.

The team at Llama Travel were very friendly and helpful in relation to booking our trip to Ecuador and The Galapagos. They gave advice and suggestions and were happy to tweak the itinerary, change dates and flights until we were completely happy with the holiday. We spoke to Otto on many occasions and he was always happy to discuss the holiday with us as were his colleagues. You get a much more personal experience with this company than with the bigger travel companies. Llama Travel were recommended to us by friends and we would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family or travel with them again.

Amazing 3 week holiday in Peru, Chile and Rio, we were looked after superbly well by llama travel and Paige who managed our booking from start to finish. This was our first trip with Llama Travel to Argentina, Brazil and Peru. We received really good service firstly from the office in London and the organisation and guides in Latin America were first class. All extremely knowledgeable with brilliant English, but also friendly and enjoyable company, caring for all our needs. Would highly recommend Llama Travel - it was our first time travelling with them but it was a massive holiday - 4 weeks across South America. Their attention to detail was impressive, they let us know in advance of the smallest changes to our itinery e.g. hotel bookings, trip changes etc.
The local guides were really excellent (bar one) and most had immense knowledge about the sights and history of each area.

Excellent service from Llama everything runs seamlessly from the initial enquiry to returning home.
The itinerary is comprehensive and sent before you travel so you know exactly what day and time your trips are.
Staff on the ground are knowledgeable, personable and friendly all the hotels we booked were excellent and in great locations.
South America is an amazing continent and Llama make it easy to explore with their hints and tips we have traveled to Costa Rica, Peru , Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands and would not consider using anyone else.

Just on our tour to Jordan and I am so glad we didnt cancel our trip. It's been simply fantastic. If like me you you were unsure about travelling due to everything going on in the surrounding countries then I would say do not cancel as you won't be disappointed.

Just returned from the Taj Tigers and Temples tour of India - absolutely amazing and worth each and every 5 stars!
From my initial enquiry the booking with Llama was handled seamlessly. I questioned a few things prior to departure and Otto answered promptly and with the info I needed. He is also helping with a query I have had since returning.
The tour itself was beyond my expectations- the guide Narinder was very knowledgeable, thoughtful, kind and looked after us through each stage of our tour. He even rejigged the itinerary on the very first day and managed with less than 24 hours for us as a group to attend the Holi festival which was an extra special added bonus.
The majority of the hotels service was great - a couple of issues which were rectified by the staff with deepest apologies.
We were also extremely lucky to see tigers in our additional safari, which I would recommend doing as the guides take you into different areas of the park. The safari included in the initial cost takes you into gate 1 which is the main tourist gate and it is very busy.
We were a group of 10 with 2 additional travellers joining us who were staying at the upgrade hotel. As a group of 10 we socialised in the evening and got on very well. I hope to stay in touch.
Travelling as two female friends in our 50’s we felt very safe in India. The people are so friendly and welcoming. I hope to return one day.
Would definitely travel with llama again and would wholeheartedly recommend to friends and family.

Just returned from a fabulous extended holiday to Costa Rica, The Galapagos islands and Peru. Llama travel, Ben and colleagues, were fantastic in organising all that we wanted, linking three tours together seamlessly. All the transfers were punctual, professional, with very clean vehicles. All the hotels/lodges/boat (12) were wonderful, very comfortable. All excursions were led by local guides who were very knowledgeable, spoke good English and very friendly. We saw so much more than we would have done by ourselves.

Just returned from Angkor Wat and Vietnam North & South. We had a fabulous holiday, from contacting Llama Travel to departure, everything was well organised (hats off to Otto at Llama who helped accommodate us with flights to Singapore, since we wanted to visit there outside of our holiday itinerary). He was professional and prompt, and made making the arrangements easy and pleasant. The whole trip was excellent, a good balance of places to visit, without spending too much time in any one place. The local tour guides were all superb, and made our trips stress free and very enjoyable. All the hotels were very good (some being excellent). We particularly like Llama's use of small group tours: we began with a group of 6, which eventually maxed out at 10 people. The advantage is that you get to know people well, and the tours feel much more intimate. Overall we loved Cambodia and Vietnam, especially the people, who are very friendly and accommodating. We highly rate this trip and, having been with Llama before, we will be booking with them in future.
