The family bought a BMW through Gordon Edgar at Motorchoice Edinburgh, and Gordon made the entire experience very relaxed and friendly. The car had only just been delivered that same day, so a thorough check in Motorchoice's garage was carried out, sorting out minor wear and tear, and there was nothing but minor issues.

The after-sales follow up from both Gordon and the dealership itself has also been very good, and the one very minor issue the car had to be taken back for was fixed within 30 minutes.

I recommend Motorchoice Edinburgh both for their service and their thoroughness.

Gordon Edgar was absolutely nothing short of fantastic. not once but twice. wouldnt use anyone else now!

Massive thank you to Gordon Edgar who I bought my T-Roc from. He was extremely helpful and made buying the car a pleasure. The car was immaculate when I picked it up which is a credit to the guys in the workshop and valeting team.

i reserved a car on Monday was called 4 times by the salesman when i was at work was then sent a personal video.so i organize my finances last night call today to get the deal over the line to be told the car had failed at preperation..on the Monday i was told there were 4 people interested in the car to which i replied well i have reserved it . i really am shocked that a company of the stature of John Clark work in such a shoddy manner...feel free to get in touch and i will gladly enlighten you to the inadequacies of the people i dealt with

Had an absolutely fantastic experience with Gordon Edgar as my salesman, after a couple of really bad experiences with cars (from another garage) this year. He's completely turned it around and made sure that this time and I appreciate everything he did.

MOTORCHOICE
After only five weeks of owning my used jeep renegade. I find out that 3rd and 4th Gears are worn out and need replacing.. I'm having the repairs done myself as I have absolutely no faith in these people.
I've also today just had the Timing Belt replaced at considerable cost which is somewhat unfortunate as the salesman told me the car had a Timing chain. This being the same salesman who later we found out, didn't know if the car used Adblue or not ? The whole experience does bring to question what exactly do you get for the £149 admin charge they take from you for the checks they make on the vehicle ( Not many it seems ) Not even the screen wash bottle was filled up. These people are unreliable and disingenuous and I shall therefore paddle my own canoe!

Had a phone call from a Gentleman at JC Group
Explained that the Worn Gearbox problem was confirmed by a professional engineer,
I have replaced the box with a used replacement at my cost, a polite conversation ensued between us within which, I maintained my views
And I was offered the opportunity of contacting them if l have further issues.

Update No2, 7th October 2022.
The car now pumps exhaust gas in through the air vents. Another load of cash to be wasted in this crock of S4iT !!

My experience at Motorchoice Edinburgh was nothing but excellent. From my initial enquiry whilst I was in Australia to the driving away two weeks later was nothing short of spot on. A big shout out to Sammy, our sales executive, he made the experience very pleasurable and ensured the car had been serviced, MOT'd and presented in a showroom condition. Would highly recommend them!

Didn’t buy the car in the end as I decided to go for lower milage and pay a bit more, but dealt with a great guy called Gordon at Edinburgh branch. Super helpful, good communication and pleasure to talk to. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a car from him if the right one came available at the dealership.

Brilliant service.

After months of back and forth, I finally got my partial refund. The dealership insisted I was at fault for a £6000 repair after a month of ownership. I had to pay for the independent report as the technician wasn't qualified enough.. seriously? After a breach of contract from the dealership, regarding a faulty vehicle, John the manager said it was my responsibility to return the vehicle and they would not issue a refund otherwise. He said only when my bad reviews were taken down would I get my money back for towing the vehicle...... My experience with this place was horrendous and I'm in the process of legal action this won't be the last they heard of me.

Great experience buying a car from Motorchoice Edinburgh. Josh Drever in sales did an excellent job of looking after us and the paperwork. He organised everything behind the scenes making the whole experience stress-free and pleasant. Scot gave us a fair deal on our trade in and a good overall deal.
We are delighted with the car - it has exceeded our expectations.

Highly recommend motorchoice. Found the vehicle I like and within a week it was mine. The process was simple and easy everything was done and sorted for me thanks to josh drever, service was brilliant. The car was spotless and I couldn’t be happier.

We bought our an A Class Mercedes from the Edinburgh branch, the whole service proved to be disappointing, car was damaged when we went to pick it up, the alloys were being sent out for a refurb prior to us picking the car up, the wheels were not refurbished someone had actually painted around the outer rim of the diamond cut wheels. We were offered a number of add ons-we only asked for the extended warranty, when we checked the documentation alloy wheel and tyre insurance had been added at a cost of £450. The handover was a bit chaotic-the salesman told me to go and sit in the car 3 times, whilst some documentation was being sorted out - this took 2hrs. They did repair the bumper plus some other faults however. A real lack of customer care, untruths marred what should have been a pleasant experience. Just to update, I asked the dealership if they could send on the printout of the service history - 7 x Mercedes Benz - salesman has just e-mailed back, I must have binned it, since you own the car now, you can contact Mercedes....shocking customer care

I was interested in a white Audi TT up for sale at £17800. I live in Cheshire so it’s 200 miles to go and see the car. Id spoken to a sales person who advised there was also an admin fee of £149 to cover checks on the car etc. He asked what did I want to pay. I said £17000 with no admin fee. Who pays extra for a garage to do basic checks and who doesn’t want a bargain these days, plus I never expected them to say yes.

I was told there wasn’t any profit in the car at that figure.

Fair enough. I then get an email from John Gilfillan, the general manager asking if he could help.

I explained that the Autotrader ad said no admin charges, which was disappointing. I advised I’d offered £17000, but the best the salesman could do was £17900 and that was too much.

I received a response saying that if I bought the car online, paid the £149 admin charge, I would get 6 month’s warranty and a minimum of 6 months MOT. If I bought the car at the dealership I would get 12 month’s warranty and a minimum of 9 months MOT. The car went through an MOT in November, so that’s already covered. No mention of the car history checks etc.

I checked the website and couldn’t find any reference to the £149 admin fee influencing the 12 month warranty and 9 month MOT. They have big scrolling banner on their website advertising these benefits. This includes breakdown assistance (which I have on my insurance anyway).

He ended his email by saying that if I couldn’t see the benefit in these extras, that was my prerogative.

I genuinely felt quite insulted and patronised by this reply. The website gives no indication of an admin charge.

Plus I thought a garage in Scotland would appreciate someone trying to get a good deal.

Interestingly the price of the car today on Autotrader only has increased from £17,800 to £17,979 so I assume if you go into the dealership they won’t charge an admin fee.

On their website it’s still advertising at £17,800, so more confusion.

Hidden charges and differing explanations do not paint the motor industry in a good light. I found this experience extremely disappointing.

Found the vehicle through Autotrader, contacted the garage between Christmas and New Year and they were great.
I travelled a long way to pick it up and Sammy and his colleagues were helpful, conscientious and took the time to ensure I was happy....even contacting me 10 days after I collected the car to ensure I was happy.

The staff were excellent and very helpful from start to finish the experience was top class
