As a man buying a car from a completely different country, I was quickly at ease when I first had a call with Josh. He assured me that everything would be of the highest standards, he took a personalised video showing me every detail of the car and answered any questions that I had prior to me travelling over to collect it. Once we had finalised the contract, I booked flights and Josh even picked me up from the airport. He was full of knowledge and a really down to earth guy. Every little detail was described honesty and accurately by Josh so there were no nasty surprises when I got to view the car in person for the first time. Honestly I couldn’t fault Josh or the dealership with a thing.

Great experience from first contact to driving away in the new car. Josh has a fantastic sales manner and was helpful and supportive, making the whole process seamless. I would recommend John Clark Edinburgh to everyone and will certainly be back in the future.

Second hand vehicle couldn't be delivered as arranged, due to faults found.mayne these could have been recognized before the vehicle was put on sale. Rather than wait, a full refund was arranged and a 2020 SUV from another Marque, was chosen by this customer.

I decided to buy the car from this dealership after considering the reviews of this dealership hoping to buy a near perfect car, hence I travelled 370 miles to the dealership in Edinburgh. Most of the reviews were good, however you could be the unlucky one in spite of doing your research. In my case I was the unlucky one. I had bought the car in last week of September, informing the salesperson to get the car ready both mechanically and cosmetically since I would be travelling from east Yorkshire to get the car. I emailed them my queries and expectations. I was aware of more or less of the potential common drawbacks to look out for. I had requested the dealership to do the checks / services as per the manufacturers recommendations to which they denied and mentioned they follow their own criteria and not the manufacturers schedule, which came as a surprise to me.
When I collected the car, the car’s paint was damaged, they had done a very bad job to mask the rust/ damage, there were few chips / visible rusts on the car body, the key fob was cracked, the car was not clean. I enquired about the about bad paint job and the rust on the body, I was told that the manufacturer covers the paint warranty for 7 years (which was not the case, as Mazda does not cover paint damage for 7 years). I was given a 100 GBP discount due to the horrible cosmetic job with the hope that I would get the paint job done by a Mazda dealer. If I was aware before the travels that the car had cosmetic issues, I would have declined to buy the car, however I was not informed of the same earlier.
I travelled from east Yorkshire to have a near perfect car and not a 100 GBP discount. I was told by the salesperson that I am buying a used car hence the damage. I thought to myself, if I had to buy an old damaged car, I would have got a cheaper car from a nearby car dealer, rather than travelling so far. My previous 15-year-old car from an auction had fewer paint damage than this expensive car. I was also offered a tin of original paint which I have yet to receive since September (today is 29 November). On following it up with the Manager and salesperson, I am repeatedly told that they have posted the same which I would receive in the next few days. The manager was also no good .
On my return, I realized the iStop of the car was not working, I went to an authorised Mazda dealer I was told that the car needs to be scanned for potential issues. I finally had to go to local regular garage who charged the battery and got the istop running. I was told by the John Clark that the battery was fine, which was not the case.
As a buyer, one is paying top price for the cars at John Clark, one expects a better service. I would not recommend this dealership, unless you are buying a perfect car. My primary reasons for giving them a bad rating

1 Horrible customer attitude

2 You will end up frustrated if your car develops some issues / problems and if you have to get back to the dealership to rectify your queries. You will end up chasing them and no will respond. I am still chasing them for the last 2.5 months for a simple can of 10GBP paint. I am trying my patience.

My advice is not to pay them unless you are completely satisfied with the car. Better still not to buy from John Clark and look elsewhere. Next week I am travelling with friend to buy another expensive car. If JC would have been reasonable, I would have got another car from them. They are full of lies .

My demands and requests were very reasonable and I have documented proof to substantiate my displeasure.

Picked up new car today and happy to see the car gleaming after its SupaGuard ceramic coating. Looked like brand new with thanks to Gordon Edgar. So pleased and looking forward to happy motoring

Purchased New Volvo XC60 B5. From the beginning Peter Malcolm went out of his way to make that as painless and smooth as possible. This procedure commenced in February with a waiting period of six months before delivery. During that period Petrr kept us apprised of how things were progressing. When it came time for the handover and exchange Peter again surpassed himself with his obliging nature sorted out any administrative difficulties we experienced due to our IT ignorance. Overall everything went smoothly and that is all down to Peter.

I was on the look out for a new car as myself and partner were looking to go down to 1 car set our sites on a vw tiguan which conveniently appeared at john clark select Edinburgh we spoke with Gordon edgar who gave us nothing but brilliant customer service and he helped us get a good deal on our new car he sorted everything for us nothing was a hassle for him and he made sure we were happy he got a couple of imperfections sorted with the wheels which was no hasssle for him and he kept us up to date all the way through the process

The sales process its self was quick and easy no concerns and the pickup date wasnt delayed or anything which in this day and age is a hard thing to come by gordon was bang on and deserves a big christmas bonus would highly recommend him and jc edin

Bought an 8yr old Mazda in April 2023 from this dealership, a month after purchase car broke down occasionally, AA couldn't find a fault code using diagnostic equipment. I arranged the car to be uplifted and sent to Arnold Clark Mazda in Glasgow where it has remained for last few weeks due to issues around warranty which at the time of purchase another salesman pitched in that it wasn't a wishy washy warranty either. I'm now paying for a car I do not have, dealership are blaming Arnold Clark and Arnold Clark are blaming warranty provider.
UPDATE- The warranty for the car turned out to be as good as dealership indicated, after a review all costs were approved and car is now being repaired without any cost to me. Thank you Motorchoice & E-Mac.
