If I could give a zero I would!!! This company started off great paying things off. Now in the past year we have had 2 summons and a lawyer miraculously did not accept my case in time and we have one garnishment already and another in the works again with no representation. I called weekly following up only to be told that I myself need to call the courts. I never missed a payment in my life until I joined this company. I highly recommend not starting this program, I would have done a better job on my own.

They sure did “respond” to my review by a guy who had no idea what he was calling for nor could he do anything about my issue they caused!

rHeartland Legal is a rip off. I have been paying them since August 2020. I received a summons to appear for one of my creditors and sent them the documents. They told me they were missing documents and not to leave out any pages. I sent them all of the pages in the envelope as I did the first time. They again said there were missing documents. I called, and the woman on the phone said she would review it and if anything else was needed they would call to let me know. I never received a call back and stupidly assumed they had taken care of it. After all I had been paying them $500 a month to represent me. I was then served with a judgement stating if I failed to pay the debt in full they would garnish my wages. This is a scam! I pay for services I never receive and no contact from them and a generic canned answer when I call. I signed the contract just as they did but since they have control of my payments to the creditors if I don't stay with them they will stop paying the settlements in my contract. THIS COMPANY IS A COMPLETE JOKE!!!

HORRIBLE!! Guess I fell into the scam too. I now have a garnishment against me. Worst experience I’ve ever had in my life.

I have been paying a lot of twice a month and none of my debts are being paid or working on. Never received a email from any lawyer or anybody from this team. I just got a summon and i have to go to court because none of my debts are being working on. I'm being in this program for almost 3 years. All my debts still the same. I am definitely going to terminate my contract with this scam company and start working on my debts on my own. I am tired of sending messages to the attorney they assigned to one of my debts and he does not respond to my emails. Andrew M. Carroll.

DISGUSTING DISGUSTING COMPANY! Tells their clients they are going to settle their debts then don’t. Was just served because they didn’t settle one of my debts for TWO YEARS! Now my wages are being garnished. Never in my life have I been so embarrassed. I called the company and they said “oh well this lawyer was working for you but she’s gone and she didn’t work with them” EXCUSE ME?! I pay all this money a month to find out my debts aren’t paid. WORTHLESS. This company deserves to get sued. oh

Waste of your hard earned money! I’ve paid in around 15,000 since Jan 2020. And now have a summons to appear in court. Was told when I signed up all Legal matters would be taken care of that I had a LAWYER ASSIGNED TO ME DIRECTLY!!!! Bull#%?! ! When I reached out to company about the summons the woman in CS was rude and didn’t act like she even wanted to be in the phone with me. Even told me they might or might not show up for court. So then I called the lawyer who has sent me several emails in the past 2.5 years and never got to speak with him nor did I have any direction to go with on this pending suit I am now dealing with on my own. I am canceling all future payments and hopefully will be able to just settle the remaining creditors myself. Thank you Heathland Legal Group and your merry group of bandits for taking advantage of people in trying circumstances!!!

To all of you who have gotten yourself into credit card debt, do yourself a favor and try to work directly with the companies yourself. I mistakenly got involved with Consolidation Plus and when I established a history of consistent payments to them they offered me a high interest loan. I then turned to Heartland Legal Group to try to pay Consolidation Plus at the beginning of the pandemic. I did not take a loan from them and towards the end of my "program" I tried to speak to my "negotiator." I was never allowed to do so. I question whether this is actually a law firm to begin with. I paid approximately $290 in "legal fees" every month of my program. After the initial contact, I never once spoke to another attorney. They also wanted to charge me an additional $1600 for "admin processing" when I had reached a balance in my account at the "end of my program" and was only a difference of $270 from the amount the "Creditor" Consolidation Plus was willing to accept in a settlement. One other thing they don't make clear is that your creditors are going to file 1099's with the IRS and whatever is written off will be charged to you as income, so you will owe the IRS in whatever year the debt is written off. Since I paid some money to Consolidation Plus before switching to Heartland, it looks like I will be double taxed for the debt written off by the credit card companies, and the "balance" written off by Consolidation Plus that Heartland "helped" me with. If you are in credit card debt, either use one of the Apps now available to help you get your finances under control or deal directly with the credit card companies. Given we are in the third year of the pandemic, the credit card companies should be more forgiving then before. A very disappointed and disheartened client.

Do not use this company. They tell you they are going to help you pay your bills they will contact your creditors and work something out with them but it does not happen. The next thing you know you’ll have a sheriffs department coming to your door from your credit card stating you need to appear in court. You’ve been called heartland legal and they say send us the papers and we’ll look over it. They turn it over to their attorney. The one they gave me lives in Statesboro he tried to negotiate with the creditors a month ago and he has not heard anything from them. I called him yesterday he said he would check again I don’t understand why you have to keep a check on everything yourself and still pay the money. The money should be in the account to pay this but they don’t they keep the money to make interest. Find someone that is truthful and honest and that is willing To work with me and you can trust this is not the company

Believe the reviews. Do not enroll your debts with Heartland Legal. You will pay more money to Heartland Legal than to your creditors. This company charge unnecessary high monthly fees and do not contact your creditors to attempt to settle your debt. Heartland Legal only goal is to collect monthly fees from you. The longer you pay monthly fees the more money this company makes. My monthly fees were almost as much as the monthly payment I was making to the creditor. Any additional payments are discouraged and you're told the creditor may not accept these extra funds. I transferred additional funds to make a lump sum payment on an account only to be charged an "Ancillary Fee" the very next day and drop my account below the settlement amount to pay off this debt. Do not enroll your debts with Heartland Legal. Believe the reviews. You will pay more money to Heartland Legal than you will ever pay to your creditors. DO NOT ENROLL WITH HEARTLAND LEGAL. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

This company is a complete and utter scam. Signed up with them when I was desperate, and their smooth talking reps got me. After 20 months of paying $550/month, I found that NONE of my debts had been settled. After calling to figure out what was going on, I magically received a pathetic offer from one of my debts. I decided to call the original lender to see what the offer had been to find out that the offer I was sent through Heartland was for $1k MORE than the actual settlement offer. They actually tried to steal more money from me. I decided to call the rest of my accounts only to find out that they had never ONCE been contacted by Heartland. They're violating federal law by collecting fees upfront before ever negotiating a settlement. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. You're better off negotiating with debt collectors yourself.

All of you who has recently signed up with heartland legal please cancel with them an go to your home town lawyer because heartland doesn't even get u a lawyer an I had creditors calling me at work an said they never even heard from heartland legal so please do not use them

Big scam. They do not do what they say. Only thing there good at is taking your money and then asking for more. Do not use this company. Please read all these reviews and take note. When you can el out of program they take all the money in your account too. Just horrible

I regret joining in on this company. Nothing good has happened in over a year and a half, I cannot even get any answers when I try to call. They are the worst

Heartland legal group sought me out at a time that I had a huge transition in my home. I lost 2 people that was contributing to the overall finances in the home not to mention COVID hit and I felt my best option was to consolidate bills. I was told I would have legal respresentation and NEVER once spoke to a lawyer or was counseled. I continued over the last to years to initiate phone calls for follow up. Since listing with Heartland I have spoken to multiple people that would review the files and tell me something different. When I ask to speak to the person negotiating on my behalf she NEVER once was available and this was for the last 2 years!!!!!! Since contracting with the company they have received over 10,000 dollars from me and have paid only 1 creditor a total of 970 dollars. I have received a $700 garnishment as well as have had 2 court appearances of which I had NO ONE representing me. This is what I was told I would have when I contracted. All of the creditors I listed are contacting me daily even with a Google number Heartland told me to use. The ultimate last conversation in which I cancelled the contract was when I learned Heartland had received more than 10k from me to pay their legal team and I had 426 dollars in escrow. The representative said I see where they tried to settle with Chase Visa in February 2021 but “we didn’t have your correct middle name”. I said shouldn’t someone have called me to get the right name and pursue settlement. The rap said , “I’m not sure how that works but I can send have your processor give you a call”. I cancelled services with them that same day. The gag is that they are using your money to pay “lawyers” and never reaching out to creditors for you”. By the time you look in to it you have lost thousands. You are better negotiating with your creditors… please stay the F away from this company and save yourself heartache in the long run. They should be punished to the full extent of the law for Fraud and praying on people that already have financial hardship. I am legally looking in to what I can do about this but I’m sure there are fine lines in the contract. And when you are as vulnerable as I was 2 years ago, anything they say makes you feel like you have a chance at regaining financial stability!!!!! Again DONt DO IT!!! It is FRAUD

I also fell into their trap, 8k later I finally woke up and realized they are nothing but double talking con artist. They use a third party to handle their phone calls from clients and you never get results. I cancelled my account with them, and I called my bank to stop payments on 12/23/2021. Today I woke to see Global which is their banking institute went and took $831 out of my account. I called my bank and they are putting a stop payment again. When I spoke to Heatland on 12/23/2021 to cancel they said they would not debt my account since I have terminated the account. So much for not debting my account once I cancelled.
Stay away from this company.

This company is a scam misleading so many people hurting during this pandemic. They should be sued for this sort of negligence and deceit.

You will lose money. Your credit will be ruined. You will end up paying more over time. Be very careful.

I entered into agreement with them to help decrease my stress with finances and all they have done is continue to stress me out always wanting more money drafted out of my account, they have gotten so much more money from me that I would've been better off making negotiations on my own!!! The fees and charges are ridiculous!!! As soon as I can get out from this nightmare I will!!! Please anyone looking into them to help debt consolidation do not use them!!! Negotiate on your own will be less stressful and not as expensive for you!!!

Anybody that gave five stars to this company must work for the company because they are crooks and it’s a scam!!
