Just bought a set of Cleveland Clubs from Greg Nicholson golf, service was excellent and collected on the date promised. Followed this up with a couple of lessons from Greg which were very informative and extremely helpful. Definitely recommend this shop and Greg to anybody.

I wish I had seen the negative reviews of this shop prior to my visit on August Bank Holiday Monday. I am new to golf and took a look inside, as I am needing some golf clothes. After a browse around, I could see no ladies clothes whatsoever and was about to leave, when Greg Nicholson approached and asked me what I was looking for. I explained that I would like some shorts or trousers but there were no ladies clothes visible. He then told me he had loads of ladies clothes and that if I told him what I required, he would find it. In fact he told me, that his wife said, he stocked too many ladies clothes! He then rummaged around at the back of a rail and produced a pair of trousers and some shorts. I went into the rear of the shop and tried on the trousers which were definitely too tight but he said they showed off my figure. The larger size were a little big on the waist. I then tried on the shorts which were a better fit, though still large on the waist, he said to wear a belt, as the smaller ones would not fit. I decided to take them, since the shop was adorned with bargain price and low price stickers and so assumed they would be a reasonable price….WRONG! There were no prices on these items and when I went to pay, he charged me £65! I asked for a receipt and he said it was inside the bag…IT WAS NOT. Upon investigating when home, it turns out that my Farah shorts are mens, Farah do not make ladies shorts! Not only that but I have been overcharged by about £20! I agree with other reviewers, how does this rip off merchant sleep at night, this experience is not something you expect to happen in this country. BUYER DEFINITELY BEWARE.

Not a man of his word. He will tell you what he wants you to hear.
His promises of an ex demo driver turned out to be an overpriced second hand one with a free “poor quality” cover.
He gets you to call instead of confirming in writing.

My advice, be wary

My son needed kitting out, top to toe, as he is really loving golf, so off we went to see Greg. Having bought Christmas presents for my golf-mad Dad over the last few years from Greg, I knew he had good quality stock. We weren't disappointed, Greg had superb quality clothing and shoes, plenty of choice in all sizes and at good prices. Very happy son and he looks absolutely fantastic in his new gear. Thanks Greg.

Ordered and paid for a deluxe golf travel bag from the online shop. Then got a phone call from Greg saying he did not have the model I paid for, but for more money I could have a much improved waterproof one.So I unfortunately fell for this ruse, although wish I had gone with my first instinct of a full refund. When it arrived, I had done some research and could tell it was the same one as the one pictured and described on the website.The reason I knew this for sure is that MacGregor only make 2 Travel bags,deluxe and Premium
Living locally I turned up at the shop wanting a full refund but he refused, with the excuse I only had the Invoice on my phone not a paper copy, further more he said that the online company was separate to the shop, even though he had taken the extra payment over the phone.
Make sure that anything you buy you will not ever need a refund for he loves to sell but refunds seem harder to come by.Nasty experience, been a past customer but will never shop there again.

Highly recommend for customer service and product choice. Excellent service - kept updated on the pair of shoes I had ordered. Even with the delay I was called weekly to update me on the status. Thank you.

I purchased a new set of irons and had them set up and balanced by Greg- I wasn’t convinced that I needed all that doing…….until I hit them for the first time last night. Superb - just as Greg had assured me - back in love with the game and worth every penny.

Having some lessons too with Greg to straighten out my bad habits - I have many as a 28 handicapper

Down to the range for my first real swing with the 5 iron and everything that Greg promised came true - 195 yards down the middle with a range ball!! - consistently ….Feel my handicap might be reducing

Greg is a great salesman- I grant you that - but he knows his stuff and I couldn’t be happier that he convinced me to go for it !! I only popped in for a box of balls - but at the end of the day you get what you pay for - let Greg help your golf game and if you don’t want expertise - there are plenty of other shops out there !

Great service from Greg! I always go to him every Christmas to get presents for husband and dad.
I know nothing about golf and Greg is so knowledgeable in the field. He always points me in the right direction and they always love their presents. Lovely business as it’s not a large chain so the service is so personal to the individual!

Do not do business with this company. Their customer service is appalling. Despite being promised that it would be ok to return items when purchased, after directly asking them the question, they refuse to honour their word. This is also despite their websites terms and conditions offering a full refund. Dishonest and untrustworthy. Very unsatisfied. DO NOT TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGE POLE!

Selling golf balls online that he does not have in stock. Then rings to try and sell you something else that he does have that are 'similar' which were not what i wanted. He reluctantly agreed to refund me but that never happened and I am now in the process off going through the PayPal resolution centre to get my money back. Avoid this joker.....

I called into the shop at Blakemere with my son to look for a putter. After trying a couple he chose a Cleveland blade with a milled face.

3 days after purchasing and a couple of rounds played, the milled face came away from the head.
I Googled Greg Nicholson to get his contact details to arrange a replacement and started to read the reviews.
I was expecting a battle to get the issue resolved but what happened was completely the opposite.

I emailed Greg who responded within 30 minutes, saying he would contact Cleveland.
Later in the morning he asked me to send a couple of pictures.
Once he received the pictures he asked me to give him a couple of days to sort it out.
I emailed him 2 days later and he asked me call him the next day.
I called and he told me that Cleveland had sent a replacement and it was available for me to collect.
I picked it up the same day and my son is delighted.

Spent a good half hour with Greg helping me choose a new golf bag. Informative and helpful. Also good after-sales service.

Avoid! I ordered a pair of golf shoes online. The day before they were due to arrive to be told that they were actually out of stock. They offered me another pair which were more expensive which I didn’t want and asked for a refund.

I queried why the shoes were showing as available on their website and then to be told they were out of stock a week later. They said due to COVID their website techs were not working! So handy to use COVID as an excuse.

I thought I would be refunded straight away but then had to wait 10 days for it to be refunded back to PayPal and then to find out they had issued an e-cheque and I had to wait another week for the funds to clear!

They had my money for all that time for a pair of shoes which I hadn’t received! Dreadful service. Go elsewhere. There are much better companies out there. Shame on you, sort your website out!

I can't recommend Greg Nicholson enough... I know some of the reviews on here are not great but I can only go by personal experience. I have purchased almost £2000 worth of equipment over the last 14 months from a full set of fitted clubs to a new Powakaddy electric trolley and the guy has been fabulous. Powakaddy trolleys have been on 4/6 week back delivery for a long while, I tried all the big boys who all said they are struggling to get stock and can't guarantee delivery. I spoke to Greg and low and behold 3 weeks later I am the proud owner of a CT6 GPS cheers Greg I won't be going anywhere else :)

I visited this shop on my way home from work. He seemed like a nice fella I bought a golf glove. The golf glove was clearly marked at £9.99 he let me try the glove on, it fitted. He then said are you paying buy card. I did pay by card. He didn't give me the box just the glove in a bag and no receipt. I thought this odd on the way home and checked my bank account. The sly snake had charge me £15.00 I then phone him up. To which he gave me a cock and bull story. About it was junior gloves that were £9.99. He will be getting a visit. Dont trust this little snake. He is a con man. Sly snake. Avoid at all cost for a fiver this is what he does. Not good be careful greg I will see you soon my friend

Went to look for golf shoes for my husband. Saw some advertised in his shop with a label £75 reduced to £49-99. Label was in a grey pair of Stuburt Urban 2.0 shoes. To cut a long story short Greg fed us a load of bull about the shoes being wide fit rather than standard fit, waterproof, new version not available anywhere else. Went to pay and charged £60. Queried this and he said that this was because these were the gel sole version rather than standard version Checked online afterwards and there they were for £49-99. There is only one version! Felt cheated and lied to. Went back to discuss this with him and he turned nasty. Do not trust this man, shop elsewhere!!

Just purchased golf shoes from this shop, charming chatty man until you query something then very unpleasant!! Felt mislead and cheated. Was fed a load of bull about old and new model Stuburt Urban 2.0 golf Shoes priced at £49.99 then charged £60. I did query and question the price difference at the time but was told it was a special gel sole version different to the standard. After purchasing the shoe I reviewed it online to find there is only one Stuburt Urban 2.0 golf shoe priced by many retailers at £49.99. I returned to the shop 10 mins later to question why I was charged £60 and not £49.99 which was priced on the shoe. He still tried to convince me it was a different shoe and I had to take his word for it without any proof? I ask for my money back as I felt mislead and cheated. He refused. Avoid this shop at all cost!!!!

I had been told there was a golf shop near sandiway traffic lights. On my arrival I was expecting a small, low budget golf shop with not much stock or anything to offer for the new golf not wanting to take a gamble on extortionate prices of gear. I was surprisingly shocked to see how much stock there was in store. Great deals and Greg gave me great advice and personal interaction about my golf game and what would help improve it. I’ve walked away satisfied and will definitely be returning for my golf needs in the future. Can’t rate the guy high enough!
