We always wanted to try freediving and wanted a challenge, but had no experience. The Gofreediving team were are friendly and supportive. They provide all the equipment and divide you into smaller groups of 3 or 4. Our instructors Leanne and Tim were really experienced and knowledgeable, and we’re able to push those in the group who were able to dive deeper, but also individual support and instruction to those who were slower to pick it up (that was me😁). It was a great weekend and really worth the time and expense, especially if you want a good start to freediving.

Go freediving has created a wonderful environment to learn the art of freediving. The pre course info was thorough and enjoyable and really got us prepared for the practical. On the Saturday everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Kieran, our instructor got us comfortable in the water with all the equipment and made sure that we were safe buddying each other. In the afternoon we started to practice going down the line to depth. We were encouraged to try but you could do it at your own pace. On the Sunday we started with some gentle dives and learning to duck dive. The weekend was fun and enjoyable and I would highly recommend the course and the people at Go Freediving. It has created lasting memories and the joy of learning a new skill.

I really enjoyed my RAID freediving course with Go Freediving. The quality of the instruction from Emma and her team was excellent, managing to be dilligent but friendly too. At the end, I felt competent and had fun learning.

I’ve spent many weekends with Go Freediving at Vobster Quay but this was my first ‘wild’ outing and, as ever, GF lived up to their great reputation. The trip was well organised from the start, with Emma and Pash checking in with us to make sure we had everything we needed and knew where to go and what to do. The boat we used to get to island was manned by 2 RNLI members so we felt very safe and they were very knowledgeable about the island and its inhabitants, giving us lots of tips about interacting with seals and appropriate behaviour with them. Diving with seals has long been on my bucket list and it was a wonderful experience being in the water with them, in their natural environment, where they were clearly in charge! Everyone came back really exhilarated from the experience. I will definitely be going again next year.

I have just completed my first freediving experience with Go Freediving and it was superb from start to finish.

The whole team were fantastic. Leanne and Kieran were excellent instructors. Friendly, patient and incredibly knowledgeable. They both had a calm confidence about them which made the whole experience even more fun and it was a pleasure to learn from them. Thank you both for getting me down to over 10m - it felt amazing and left me hungry for more.

It is also worth mentioning that Vobster Quay is a great facility with much better visibility than I had expected.

This is something I've wanted to do for years, and I chose Go Freediving from the look of the course. I'm really glad I did! I was worried about not being able to equalise as I've never managed it in he water before, but I went successfully to below 10m equalising continually and felt very comfortable.
I was impressed with the focus on safety, and learning the skills to rescue a diving partner if necessary (as well as learning how to be safe to try to avoid this being necessary!)

In summary, I really enjoyed the course, I feel that I have learned valuable skills and I intend to keep them up to increase my enjoyment in the water

Just finished a brilliant weekend learning to free dive with these guys. Really professional outfit who are clearly passionate about this sport. Was allowed to go at my own pace and felt safe and secure the whole time. Brilliant and very beautiful location too. Can’t wait to go back.

I've always been drawn to the water and have experienced it for decades in many different ways; to a reasonably good level in some regards. Intrigued by Freediving I always knew it was going to be more then "snorkeling with bells on" so I approached it with the respect it fully deserves. I knew that watching a few well-cut Youtube videos, jumping into the water and going for it was NOT the way to do it.

'Researching where to learn, I kept coming back to Gofreediving because of the clear professionalism and experience that Emma oozes as does her entire team.

There is a non-trivial amount of coursework to do beforehand which I found rather reassuring; another sign of a professional outfit.

The whole Vobster Quay registration, entrance fee, waiting-at-the-gate thing was rather baffling ...until we arrived when the reason became clear (gets the admin and gear sorted before the session opens).

Once geared up and in the water, I can't express enough how good the instruction is. Yes, newbie freedivers have some affinity with water anyway so the students are somewhat self-selecting (note: if you don't have an affinity with water, freediving probably isn't for you !) but the gradual, step by step, incremental , progression embeds the important safety rituals that makes the sport safe and hugely enjoyable. Yes, sitting on a concrete tube at the end of day one 10m underwater is quite profound; greatly satisfying, peaceful and great fun all at the same time;)
I can't wait to get back in the water.

This was a very well organised fun course and comprehensive course. There was a lot of pre-course admin and course notes to work through before attending the course. Not a problem but worth being aware of. Our instructor was excellent at moving us through the syllabus at a good pace, he had excellent practical skills and a clear communication style. He was patient with me and my issues around equalisation. I was quite relaxed in the water but I am sure a more nervous student would get a lot of confidence from the instructors.

Vobster Quay is a good venue. Well organized if a bit expensive to access. The additional fees were not easy to work out and a bit of a surprise. Following the course I have spoken to the organizers about this and they where sympathetic and have said they will try to make this more transparent in the future.

The other instructors were clearly bubbling with enthusiasm. The instructors have a good rapport with each other and appear to be a team of close friends.

I am booking again to work on my equalization issues.

superb level of teaching & encouragement . felt very safe in the water. No matter what the students level , everyone was fully included & coached expertly to get them to freedive at their own pace & this in turn delivered successful results for all our group. I had been wanting to learn to freedive for ages and I’m so pleased I decided to go with Go Freediving. Everyone was so friendly and Vobster Quay was a super cool to dive in. My instructor, Wayne, was very knowledgable, patient and a good laugh. Plus, watching him fly effortlessly downwards to help guide people during their dives was pretty inspiring.

I had trouble equalising one of my ears unfortunately so I’m gonna have to take another run at it when the season starts again. But I will definitely be going with Go Freediving again.

The course was bought as a present from my girlfriend. I've always been interested in learning to spearfish so she thought this would be the perfect introduction for me. I've not got much water experience besides a bit of snorkelling.

I chose Go Freediving due to it's proximity to Bath and it's rated as one of the best places in the country to do the course!

I have discovered that freediving is a lot more difficult than it looks. There is a lot more equipment that you need to do it. It is really fun and I want to continue!

I like how quickly we were in the water. The benefits of learning to freedive are the relaxation, meeting new people and it helps you be fitter and healthier too.

The free breathing optimisation class was really good. It was an eye-opener and it gave you things to go away and practice.

It would definitely recommend this course to anyone, whether you're a complete beginner or want to refresh your skills - I will certainly be back!

learning to Freedive with Go freediving , changed my life! lockdowns had really gotten me down, and learning to freedive was like a Breath of fresh air (or not to breathe) that really brought spirit back. the instructors on my course were enthusiastic, knowledgeable and above all, safe. Diving is amazingly fun, but also quite scary and intimidating, and i felt like everyone at go freediving has got your back, which gave me the trust in myself to go deeper, and i am just fascinated with what our bodies can do when they are in the correct environment to do so. I highly recommend this course!

Go Freediving is the place to learn to freedive in the UK. Safety is paramount, and you will learn great technique and make a lot of friends in the process! Can’t recommend Emma and the team highly enough. Warning: you will get addicted :)

First and great experience of free diving with excellent instruction, organisation and equipmnet. The venue was great as well!
High recommended team of experts whio do everything they can to make it a successful build up and course.

I can tell from their social media accounts that they are one of the best in town.
Hopefully I'll have a trip with them soon

I took the Freediving course in 2020 and haven't looked back since! The instructors are very patient and allow each student to progress at their own pace throughout the weekend.

As someone who has struggled with mental health and an inability to quieten the mind in a fast paced life with a high stress job, I have tried everything (yoga / meditation / mindfulness etc) to no avail. Freediving had me hooked immediately because it is genuinely the only thing I have found that removes all of the chatter and without it now I would be completely lost.

Having always been extremely comfortable in water but previously frustratingly terrified of the sea, completing the course has had the added benefit of completely eradicating my fears in the open ocean and I have since taken my new skills all over the world!

Cannot recommend enough.

I thought I might enjoy it - outdoors, water, learning a new skill but also had some nervousness- for lots of reasons.
The instructors are awesome at making it a fun weekend a way, in a beautiful place with nothing it too intimidating to start. You know that you are in safe hands. When I was ready to push myself I was amazed at how deep I was able to comfortably dive.
The upshot is that I enjoyed it so much I have truly caught the freediving bug. For me the most surprising bit was the breathwork in the extra classes. Very relaxing but also made me better at coping with stress.
An all round brilliant team to learn with.
