I've always fancied giving freediving a go, I loved the idea. I was really interested in diving with a lot less gear.
I'm really busy at work but decided to just take some time for myself and book it. I surf quite often and have done scuba diving before.
I saw Go Freediving on social media and researched it and realised Emma is quite a big name in the industry and worldwide.
I liked the idea that it was a lot closer than a lot of places are to me and it was quite foolproof where conditions are concerned, there is no chance of it being cancelled.
I've discovered that it is hard but I felt very comfortable the whole time. The equalisation has been my main trouble. It's not like you just jump in and it all goes perfectly, I knew I wasn't going to do everything right straight away but I like the challenge because when I finally do it I feel like I've achieved something.
There is a lovely family feel here, I already want to be a part of it. I haven't met any instructor or student who has been negative, everyone's happy and rooting for each other. Once I've got to the level, I will definitely be signing up for membership and taking it further!
The benefits are that it's humbling in a really good way. You know exactly how your body works. I even found the theory side of it fascinating!
I really enjoyed learning about dive reflex, I thought it was really interesting. I would definitely say the knowledge I picked up can only do me well as a surfer, learning stuff about being comfortable under water and being able to hold breath for longer. So I think there's a lot of benefits.
I would definitely recommend the course, there is nothing I would change about the course, everyone feels really comfortable. Everyone is at different points in our group but it still feels like everyone's together, everyone's rooting for each other. I honestly can't fault the course in any way!!

I joined as club member at the beginner of summer last year and have done three courses with go freediving. I love the club so friendly, great guidance and tutoring from the team. At club days I met some amazing mermaids and had opportunities to grow my skills. Emma & Tom were particularly amazing and encouraging to help me reach my level 2 ssi 20 metre depth safely & calmly. I highly recommend :)

If you know... you know!
I did my freediver course 3 years ago and my life changed that weekend. I am asthmatic overweight with dodgy ears. The team were great and taught me not to fight with it and just enjoy what I could do. I did more than I thought ever could and lost a lot of my fear.
3 years later I still dive when I can. I don't push myself and still enjoy every single breath hold! Just do it but realize it's not a competition!

I had no preconceptions about freediving before the course, but quickly discovered that it's a captivating activity that has since provided much joy.
I quickly discovered that the things I believed might be anxiety provoking weren't. This was due to the preparation breath work classes I did and the wonderfully competent, fun and reassuring teachers.
It was great to be in the the water for a prolonged period of time, the colour of the water was beautiful and the environment far more interesting than the idea of diving in a quarry lead me to believe.
The benefits of learning to free dive are the mental training in terms of mindfulness and being in the moment, the fun that was had with great classmates and teachers and learning a skill that will give (and has already given) immense pleasure.
I would recommend this course because it is very professionally run, it's an amazing location, you feel very supported are enabled and equipped to do things you couldn't do otherwise. I've signed up for a follow on course to develop my skills.

My mother has always wanted me to do freediving and I said no because it's my biggest fear in the world. I have been going through a rough patch so she thought I should come along and I did.
I have discovered that I really love it and I'm going to carry on doing it.
I liked the whole process, starting off being completely clueless and then leaving feeling like a champion.
The benefits of the holiday are that all my fears are gone, I feel stronger, I'm not so scared of the sea anymore, I can use my lungs a bit better and swim better and knowing you can push yourself to do stuff.
I would recommend this holiday because it's fun, the people are amazing and it's good, mentally and physically.

This has been a life changing course, everyone was incredibly helpful and after a two day RAID freediving course I had the confidence and habilities that boosted my breathing capabilities and learned a new exiting hobby in a very safe manor.

I would deffinitely recommend Go Freediving! Emma and her team are professional and safety conscious but keep the course fun and enjoyable. I was one of the very few people who had issues equalising below a particular depth. The instructors were great in helping me go at my pace. I felt supported and never pressured. Despite not advancing as quickly as I would have liked, it was an amazing experience and I have been back a second time and have now booked my 3rd visit to help me get better and better. Cant wait to get back in the water with the lovely people of Go Freediving.
If you are even remotely interested (if you are reading this then you obviously are!) I would say just book, I don't know anyone who has regretted it!

My daughter became interested in freediving and I wanted to get her qualified for her own safety. She is 15. Pach and Sarah done a great job and she passed all her skills! She can't wait to get back in the water!

Freediving is something I have always wanted to do. Because I practice meditation, for me it was the next level. I wanted to take it into the water. I have always felt the need to be in water. I love the ocean. I’ve scuba dived and snorkelled so Freediving for me was the next level. I’ve wanted to do it for a few years, and finally, here we are!
Go Freediving was the closest school to me and from what I could see you were also the busiest – which I thought must be a good thing.
I’ve discovered there is still a lot to learn. I’m amazed by what my body can do.
I was like Wow! I didn’t know my body could do that! I’ve just loved it. I’m an engineer, so I love the technical aspects and the science behind it.
I’ve loved being in the water. Getting the kit on is a pain, but getting in the water is good!
I’ve loved learning the skills, discipline, the relaxation and comradery, just the people who naturally gravitate to it. I liked that.
I would recommend this course for the technical aspect, the relaxation, the enjoyment, the freedom of open water. All those things. The adventure, the nature. I am always looking for new things and anyone who is an adventurer at heart like myself, will really like the course too.

I had such a great time on my RAID Freediver course with Go Freediving.
I booked this course on my own and travelled down from North Yorkshire. The Go Freediving team were so welcoming and friendly, they made me feel at ease and I enjoyed meeting all the other lovely people that were taking part in the course.
The course itself was brilliant!
I loved learning how to be a good buddy and pushing myself in such a safe environment.
I was surprised at how quickly I progressed in just two days, Emma and her team are so knowledgeable and having only a few students per instructor meant I could learn at my own pace.
Freediving in Vobster was fun.
Having travelled fairly far, it was great that I didn't have to worry about weather disrupting/cancelling the course. Swimming through the plane was also a real highlight!
I loved freediving so much that I booked on Go Freediving's Red Sea Liveaboard holiday and I can't wait!
Thank you Emma & Team X

Amazing course! The Raid Freediving course is a must have, it really allows you to learn all the necessary elements to free diving safely and Emma and her team are fantastic. The is alot of information to take on both so it is great that the course is based over two days to help hone in your skills and practise parts that you learnt on the first day. The theory side of the course is very useful and interesting giving you a great understanding of what your body is going through when you free diving - including information on equalisation, gas exchanges, safe breathing practise & much more. Since the course I have also been undertaking Emma's breathing optimisation classes online, which are awesome. My breath hold has increased greatly, my understanding of my breathing muscles & how to control each part has improved ten fold & my CO2 tolerance has also improved. I would highly recommend these breathing optimisation classes even prior to the RAID freediving course so you learn how your body feels during a breath hold.

Such a fantastic experience learning to Freedive with Emma and the team at Vobster. It’s been something I’ve wanted to do for years and now I have the knowledge and confidence to go go down to 20m. Can’t wait to go back.

My son was doing the course and I love spending time with him and I love the water so I decided to do the course as well. It was a great opportunity to spend time in a structured environment with my son. He chose Go Freediving, but I would have chosen them anyway because they are accredited.
I have this subconscious block when it comes to holding my breath and I wasn’t expecting to be able to overcome that. Freediving in a quarry has been amazing. The facilities here at Vobster are really practical and must be one of the best in the country.
I have loved been in the water which has been the best thing for me. Improving my breathing techniques, learning to be really calm, and overcoming a mental block are some benefits of the course.
I would recommend this course because of the great location and great instruction.

love the water. Being underwater, playing in the water, I’ve snorkeled all my life, and then I did scuba because I thought it would help me appreciate being under the water more, But scuba diving is just too much of a faff, I can’t stand it! It’s nice being down there but it’s not free enough. I like being free, I like to motorbike, to camp, that’s the sort of thing I like doing, and so that’s why I wanted to freedive. I chose Go Freediving because of Emma. I was googling, and I looked at reviews, and actually it was Emma that made me choose Go Freediving, because she’s got a really good manner about her, it’s very relaxing. And even the email exchanges were very relaxed and I felt that she cared about what she was doing. And then I looked at all the videos, and it looked as though you all cared about what you were doing. And you take it really seriously, without taking it too seriously if you know what I mean!
I’m a bit of a science geek, that’s my thing. And this is the amazing bit, I didn’t know how much goes on with one’s breathing. So I didn’t understand the dive reflex. When I was doing the Breathing optimisation classes Emma mentioned the mammalian dive reflex, and before I did the course I thought it was something we had to do, not something that happened automatically. So that’s been one brilliant bit, learning about that, and the other bit, and I only learnt this yesterday, was about the urge to breathe. I thought the urge to breathe meant that at that point, if you don’t breathe, you’re in trouble, but that’s not necessarily true. So now I’m sitting at home trying to force myself to go past that, just to see what happens . So it’s the whole physiology of breathing. That’s for me the most amazing thing, I’m learning stuff about my body I didn’t realise before. So I’m now doing my own reading up about it, reading more books, listening to Ted talks, some podcasts . It’s amazing, and to be able to do it with something I enjoy doing, in the water is fantastic.
I absolutely loved doing the duck dive. It feels really nice and natural, and I loved tapping the aircraft at the bottom! Yesterday I was nervous, I wanted to be able to to do this, but I was also conscious about not pushing myself too much. So I thought ‘just take it easy’. But I’m not very good at taking things easy. So today, relaxing, has helped a lot. I’ve just loved that feeling of getting down, and it doesn’t feel stressed, it feels really relaxed and I like that.
My wife and I, we like travelling, and the whole point of scuba diving was that I could go somewhere I like and then go diving. I do love being underwater, I’m always underwater, and so with freediving I can get to be underwater more often. Another benefit of learning to freedive is the relaxation side of it. Me and my wife meditate every day, and we’ve been doing that for a few years now. And freediving is helping that enormously. Other benefits are understanding the science of breathing, and then thinking ‘what can I do with this?’ Those are the main benefits I think of learning to freedive.
I would absolutely recommend this freediving course. Even if you don’t go freediving, learning all the breathing techniques is beneficial. When you think about exercise, you never think about your breathing muscles, you never think about your diaphragm. So I would certainly recommend learning to freedive, no question! I’m going to get my wife to do it at some point I’m sure.

The coolest course you'll ever take!
The world of freediving is a huge unknown to most people, but Emma and her incredible team make it completely accessible over a fun and relaxed weekend.
I'd highly recommend this course to anyone that's ever wanted to try freediving.

I started doing scuba last year and I really enjoyed it. I looked into freediving for the breath-hold techniques and I was curious about it and started practicing that. I found it very relaxing and I thought… oh is this diving and relaxing? I got curious about trying and I must have started talking about it a lot more and that’s when my partner bought this course for us.
I thought the bulk of the effort would be around the breath hold and I am shocked to find out that it’s just an afterthought. It is all about the technique of getting down and making sure you do the right sequence of things as you are going through it. The breath hold was not even worth worrying about or thinking about.
Honestly, you guys are really fun to be around with. You have a good group and you have a really good atmosphere going with this. I’m not sad that I didn’t pass everything today, it means I get to come back!!
The benefits of doing a course with Go Freediving are how well you guys are organized, that stands out for sure. We didn’t have to worry about anything, the kit was all sorted out etc. The second benefit is the fun group you have. The third benefit is the site you chose. Vobster is a really nice site to do it at as well.
I absolutely recommend this course because of how pain free the entire experience is, everything is taken care of for you.

For some one who never dived below 4 meters I was amazed that I could dive over 10 meters and go through a Plane wreckage by the end of the two day’s course it was amazing experience, with the motivation and professionalism of go free diving instructors you feel absolutely safe. I will definitely be back for more. Thank you Emma dave and team for introducing me to the wonderful world of free diving

My son and I used to occasionally freedive on holiday and he used to try and go so deep! Which made me really nervous because neither of us knew the right way to breath, equalise or anything else! Go Freediving are an amazing team of lovely instructors who have taught us most importantly how to dive safely but not only that, how we can push ourselves and develop our skills to get the most out of freediving, by going deeper and holding our breath for longer. We are completely addicted now, and after having done the course, we're going to be joining them regularly for their club days! The instructors are all so funny, relaxed and easy to get along with, so their courses and club days are such a good laugh! Also, I sometimes get to pretend that I'm a mermaid! Which is the most fun ever! If you're thinking of choosing a freediving course, I can't recommend Go Freediving enough. They are the best! Thank you Emma and the team, see you in another few days for more diving!
