Great prices and service!

Ordered a couple of things from this company some time ago and they have surpassed my expectations. Awesome price and super fast delivery topped off by equiment arriving in perfect condition. Would recomment to all.

Faulty goods, awful customer service - avoid them!

I thought that I should share my experience of doing business with GlobalMediaPro as a warning to others who might be thinking of buying from them.

I decided to purchase some of their video equipment, as they were reputed to be based in New Zealand and had a company set up in the UK. I figured that this would reduce the chance of me receiving poorly made junk from China. The price was very reasonable, and I was hoping that my experience would be a good one so that I could use them again for future purchases.

I was to be crushingly disappointed.

The first odd thing I encountered was that after placing an order with them, they wanted payment by direct bank transfer rather than any online payment system through their website. A bit weird, but I thought I’d take the chance and see what happened.

A few days after sending payment, I had an email confirming dispatch. So far so good. Delivery took a further week, and finally the item arrived – from China, along with a hefty customs charge.

On opening the package, I noticed that the item rattled when moved, as if something was loose inside. I was fairly certain that it wasn't supposed to make a rattling noise, and confirmed my fears when I plugged it in and it didn't work.

Never-mind. I would just get in touch with them, report the fault, and arrange for a return and replacement.

Then I got the response back from their very rude customer service team. "Please let us know how you have tried to modify the unit."

I was baffled. Maybe they had misunderstood? I replied, explaining that I had not attempted to modify the unit, and that it was faulty on delivery. I attached a photo demonstrating the very visible soldering fault, proving that no modification had been attempted.

Their reply "We will not replace the unit as you have attempted to repair it." So it's "repair" now instead of "modify"? At least they could have been consistent in their accusations.

I explained (again) that no modification or repair had been attempted, but they flatly refused to deal with my complaint any further.

On balance, and to be as honest as possible in my review, I should add that I also ordered two reasonably priced batteries as part of the same order, which worked on arrival. What a shame the rest of my experience was so negative.

So, my conclusion of GlobalMediaPro: a company providing a "lucky dip" of faulty goods, and awful customer service if you happen to get something that doesn't work. Stay away from them – you have been warned!

As our support team had explained to the buyer via email, we were unable to replace or repair the item due to the fact that the buyer had disassembled the equipment upon suspecting a fault. As stated in the buyers first email an electrician was asked to open the equipment and the picture that supported this message showed a disassembled item. Had the buyer notified us of the fault as soon as the equipment had arrived, we would have happily replaced or refunded the item. As the item had been tampered with and was no longer in its original state we were unable to provide the level of assistance the customer desired, we were however, able to offer the buyer a 20% discount on the equipment as we understood that this was a frustrating situation.

If equipment is no longer in its original state, we cannot be sure that it arrived faulty and had not become so due to modification/dis-assembly attempts. Unfortunately, during the course of our time in this business we have had cases where equipment had been tampered with or unsuccessfully modified and then claimed to have been received in that condition. Due to this, the company does not accept responsibility for equipment that has been taken apart or modified. We apologize for the negative experience and recommend that in the future should you receive equipment not meeting your standards you notify the company straight away, keeping the item in the original state it had arrived.

I have done business with globalmediapro several times and it is simple: it works. I get my camera's for a very good price. If there is a delay in delivery, it are customs that take their time.
