Great service, no problems

I ordered an Audi A1 in August for my wife. After shopping around we pretty much had the spec sorted, however trying to get one in a short time-scale to that spec was proving difficult (previous car written off). The guys at GB car deals were really efficient and managed to get one in exactly the same colour as my Q5. The only thing they couldn't get me was the auto-wipers, but as they sorted the car within a little over 3 weeks I couldnt complain. Happy with the organisation and even the delivery guy managed to sneak it to my wifes office without her knowing it was coming so soon. would definately recommend.

Repeat Customer - Excellent Service

Just taken delivery of my 2nd car in 10 months from SMC/GB Cardeals, the 1st was a Land Rover Defender. We traded this back in, receiving a more than fair trade in value.

Our replacement car is an Audi Q3 S Line Plus. When I order the car, I assumed the price I was given was for a manual 150 TDI. When I received the physical written quote, I was over the moon to see it was a 184 and S Tronic, which suited our needs even better as we tow a caravan, plus delivery was within 7 days.

I'd most certainly recommend GB Car Deals for anyone in the market for a new car.

WOW Great Company

I bought a new Seat Ibiza Cupra from www gbcardeals com in March 2015.
I was VERY sceptical of the whole deal as the price was too good to be true but after covering myself at every point just in case, I decided to take the plunge. The Salesman I was dealing with was fantastic easy to get on with and he explained if I paid the deposit by Credit Card my money would be safe under the Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act, being a sceptical person at the best of times I checked this and he was spot on. He also explained that I may not be the 1st registered keeper of the car, but in my case I am. They were completely open about this from the beginning this information was also in black and white in the contract.
I was then introduced to Director, another person fantastic at his job! Rang me when he said he would I did not have to chase them at all and that can’t be said about my local dealerships, he was very helpful and understanding when my bank messed up on the day when I was paying, the Director was very patient indeed.
www gbcardeals com (Spectrum Vehicle Contracts Limited) be my first point of call for my next new car.

GBCARDEALS - Never again.

I made an Outright Purchase of a car from GBCARDEALS (Spectrum Vehicle Contracts) in June 2014, with a delivery date in late July. I was assured that I would be the first registered keeper. The vehicle was delivered in mid July, but without a tax disc or logbook.

The vehicle was the wrong specification and GBCARDEALS claimed that the manufacturer was at fault. After a few phone calls that day, they informed me that I could keep the car, until I received the correct vehicle.

The tax disc was sent to me in late July, but the vehicle was registered c/o Lora Trading in Milton Keynes. According to Companies House, Lora Trading business activity is wholesale of fruit and vegetable juices, mineral water and soft drinks. The director of GBCARDEALS claimed that the information at Companies House was incorrect and they buy all their vehicles through this company.

DVLA states that the law requires the keeper of the vehicle to provide an address at which they can be reached. This enables the police and other enforcement agencies to contact the keeper or their dependants in the event of a road traffic accident, or in conjunction with a criminal offence. Despite providing GBCARDEALS with this information, they kept making excuses to retain the log book.

The correct vehicle was delivered early September, but without a tax disc or log book.

The original car was taken back to the Main Dealer and I called them the following day to explain why there was no log book. They were surprised to find out that I had purchased the vehicle, as they had apparently delivered it on a lease deal. I don't know who signed for the change of ownership details - it certainly was not me.

The tax disc for the new car was delivered on 09 September. It was the new type of disc (without perforations) and I received only the bottom part of the letter – the address part had been torn off. I contacted DVLA and they informed me that the vehicle was not registered to me (I discovered later that the vehicle was registered to someone at Lora Trading). I submitted a V888 (request for information about a vehicle). The requested information was denied but I received a very helpful letter from DVLA suggesting what future action to take.

In early October, I sent GBCARDEALS an email giving 7 days to send me the log book. I immediately received a call from their director with more excuses as to why I had not received the log book, including a 4/6 week delay at DVLA. He was annoyed that I was going to the police (after 7 days). I told him that the vehicle was not registered to me and he promised to look into it and get back to me. Later, he informed me that there had been a mix-up and the vehicle delivered to me had been earmarked for another customer. Because of the problems with the first vehicle, it had been decided to give me his car. I reminded him that he had a week to get the log book to me. Of course it did not arrive.

I then contacted the Main Dealer to see if they could help and they said they would contact GBCARDEALS to get them to change the details on the log book. GBCARDEALS told them they were sorting it out and I gave it another week before again contacting DVLA – the vehicle was still not registered to me.

In late October, I submitted a V62 (Application for a vehicle registration certificate) to DVLA, along with a covering letter, Order Form, Invoice, Delivery Note and a photograph of both vehicles parked outside my house. About a week later I received the V5C for my car, registered to me at my address as the first registered keeper - DVLA even returned the V62 fee.

My problem with GBCARDEALS was very similar to an earlier reviewer. I cannot understand why anyone would deal with this company, after reading the review from Peter last year. Unfortunately I started dealing with them before he posted it. I now urge Trustpilot to request proof of purchase documents from anyone posting a positive review on this company.

I consider myself to be very lucky to come out of this situation without too much trouble. During this whole experience I was possibly driving illegally and probably not properly insured. I will never deal with an online car dealer again, and I would advise anyone thinking of buying a car online to deal through a broker.

Great Value for money, straightforward purchase

Bought a Ford Fiesta from them online. Friendly people . Excellent price. The delivery went without a hitch. Generally really happy with the experience and received several emails from them updating me on the ordering process. Would have been a 5 star rating except the car arrived 5 weeks later than originally estimated. If you are, like me, prone to biting finger nails about buying something that expensive on the web, its worth reading up on the protection Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act gives you for the total purchase if you pay the deposit by credit card. Spectrum were happy to receive the deposit by credit card with no additional fee

Truly shocking experience

This has been a truly shocking experience. Please avoid at all costs.

I ordered a new car from GB Car Deals (Spectrum Vehicle Finance Limited) in August 2013. I was told that the car would be brand new and that I would be the first registered keeper. They offered a reasonable discount and seemed like a decent company.

After waiting two months, the car was delivered. Unfortunately, it was completely the wrong car due to an error at the company. This was disappointing, but I accept that mistakes occasionally happen.

The company apologised and let me drive the incorrect car until my new one was delivered. A few weeks later, the company withdrew this offer without warning and demanded over £800 in 'hire car' fees. When I refused to pay, they appointed a third-party company to recover the car and leave me without a car until they sorted their mistake out! I was left with no option but to pay this extortionate fee since I needed the car for my daily commute.

The correct car was eventually delivered in March 2014, nearly seven months after ordering. I was assured that the tax disc and log book would be sent straight away. These were not received and I was unable to drive the car after the initial two week grace period without a tax disc.

I phoned the DVLA to arrange for a replacement log book and tax disc to be issued. They investigated and found that GB Car Deals had registered the car to an insurance company in a different country. This insurance company contacted the DVLA and declared that the car (which had been sat on my driveway for months) was in their possession. Strange!

After six weeks of constant telephone calls and emails, I eventually persuaded the DVLA that it was my car after providing lots of photos and documentation. They sent the new tax disc and log book out promptly, however I was the second registered keeper on the log book.

Throughout the process, GB Car Deals did not want to help. I occasionally received one-line abhorant emails from their director and they now won't reply to any of my emails or letters.

UPDATE: Following an independent investigation by the Financial Ombudsman Service, I have received a full refund. I am in communication with the police and other authorities regarding the company's activities. I am happy to be contacted by potential buyers to discuss my unacceptable experience.
