Great service and value for money
Ordering my 2 Musa banana plants was easy, delivery timescales were clear and the plants arrived in very good condition. I would certainly say that Garden Plants Online are very good value for money and have great customer service! Recommended I will certainly use again!

Terrible service not wort any penny
Terrible service, plants delivered was nothing like those advertised, missing plants on delivery, dead plants. Reached to them straight on the day and was told that all will be replaced what was wrong but still not received it. Partial order was not ready from Italy and they were keep delaying delivery so I decided to request refund but after more than week still no money even when they state it was made week ago. Avoid unless you don't care about quality or if you get your delivery this or next year.
Edit to gardensevice comments:
- on 25th May you received pictures and description of problem with hydrangeas. Out of 50 sent (40 vanilla and 10 lime) 1 was missing and 7 poor quality. This is 16% of plants delivered.
- I have mentioned on 25th may email that neither plant is mature as per pictures on website
- I have email confirmation last week Wednesday 3rd June that refund is approved and will be with me by end of week. I called Friday 5th June that it's end of week and there is no refund and was advised that was typo and refund will be with me by Wednesday 10th June . On Tuesday 9th June I emailed to get confirmation whats going on with my return and only when I threatened of legal actions you sent me email after 16:30 that refund has been proceed on 9th June.
- on every email requesting details of poor plants I have referred you to my email from 25th of May. How many times you need to be told that 8 hydrangeas is affected and i now need additional refund of £167.10?
Get your facts together before you replay.
Appalling service.
Stop arguing with customers, listen to them, maybe one day your service will get better.

Hello Wojciech,
Your refund for your 20 Japanese Forest Grass has been confirmed and received. We made you aware of the extended lead time of these due to them not being ready yet in this size and as you were unhappy to wait further, we refunded you.
As per refund processes, refunds aren't automatically sent to your account the moment you request it. We advised your refund request was put through and chased it with our manager which was approved shortly after and was received within 7 business days from the day of approval. If issues with this you need to contact your bank as we have already sent proof.
Our customer service agent had asked you to clarify the exact Hydrangea varieties out of 40 Vanille Fraise and 9 Limelight you were having issues with so we could advise on options available for you and organise to reorder. We did not receive a response for a list of exactly what you were unsatisfied after another follow up email was sent, so were unable to help further until this is clarified.
If this was clarified, this issue would have been rectified sooner for you. Although you were not pleased about less than 10 items I'm not hearing the positives or complaints about the remaining 70 items of flowers, bark and compost received from us from this order which were definitely in good quality which we would like to clarify to our customers.
Just taken delivery of a Loquat tree…
Just taken delivery of a Loquat tree (eriobotrya japonica). Really good condition, a little taller than I expected. (A nice surprise as online purchases are often not quite as big as images lead you to expect.)
Delivery wasn't the quickest, but this was made clear at point of order and I was kept up to date throughout. I'm happy to wait a few days and get a good quality plant.
Really happy with the price and the communication with GPO, from order to delivery. Recommended.

I ordered a plant which turned out wasn't in stock and had to be shipped over from Italy. Fair enough. But it's now 10 weeks later and I still haven't got it. In that time I've been assured it's coming only to be let down. One time an incorrect plant was delivered. The next time a delivery didn't turn up at all. And the most frustrating one was when a similar type of plant was delivered with the labels switched to dupe me into believing I'd been sent the correct thing. I sent photos and they admitted the mistake. I no longer trust them to provide it so I've requested a refund which I'm still waiting for.

Good website with a great selection
Good website with a great selection. My tree arrived looking very healthy. I also think prices seem very reasonable. Communication was excellent regarding delivery and a query I had. I only deducted 1 star because the time the delivery takes but now i know for next time. I can’t remember if it said that at the check-out but I think that would help to manage expectations. Other than that I highly recommend this company and will use again.

Great quality plants

We're disappointed to learn that our terrible service resulted in you receiving 10 Italian Cypress trees worth over £1,700 within 13 business days.
We'll immediately investigate why our delivery team failed to invent a time machine and why Jack neglected to rewrite the transport schedule of an entire industry to suit a single order.
To note; after further investigating the calls, you had advised Jack you did not want to speak with him and wanted to speak to a manager, management were not available and as Jack could not assist further the call was terminated as per your request not to speak with him. We also would like to add, Jack is not “very rood” — while we assume you meant rude. Jack remains professional throughout all interactions and does not participate in unproductive exchanges.
On the bright side, the trees arrived safely, which is more than can be said for this review's relationship with reality.
We hope your cypress trees thrive for many years, preferably with fewer complaints than they were delivered with.
Order cancelled 2 weeks ago but now scheduled delivery
I ordered a Datura from this company with a 10 day delivery commitment. No sign of it arriving and I cancelled the order , confirmed over the phone and in writing. Now, two weeks later, out of the blue, they are insisting on delivery and refusing a refund. Awful company. The do not grow own plants and have no control over the supply chain.

For clarity, your order was cancelled as requested and this was confirmed by phone and in writing. The emails you subsequently received were automated system notifications, not an attempt to insist on delivery of a cancelled order.
You also suggest that we have no control over our supply chain. As our plants are sourced directly from our Italian nursery, we can assure you that we know exactly where they come from and when they are dispatched.
As for the delay, Datura is not a standard garden-centre item sitting on every shelf in the UK. It is a specialist plant that can be difficult to source, which is precisely why we work with our own growers in Italy. Unfortunately, even with direct access to the nursery, the one thing nobody controls entirely is Mother Nature's timetable.
Our records also show that the telephone conversation was considerably more animated than your review suggests, although we appreciate that recollections can differ.
In any event, your order was cancelled in accordance with your request. The automated emails that followed were exactly that—automated and not evidence of any attempt to deliver a cancelled order.
We wish you every success in sourcing a Datura elsewhere and hope you are able to find one more readily than our Italian growers could persuade nature to produce it.

i paid £239 for a cordyline australia tree. Got the tree delivered - it was damaged so contacted the company for a return. I got sent a replacement - nothing like the original. The website says they will vary which i understand, but this one has a split trunk at the top (i ordered a single) and started off with a few leaves, but they are all going yellow and dying. I’ve asked for a refund and tge company are extremely unhelpful. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS RETAILER

We were surprised to read that you found us "extremely unhelpful."
When you reported damage to the original Cordyline Australis, we arranged collection and supplied a replacement tree completely free of charge, including all associated delivery costs. We did this as a gesture of goodwill because we wanted you to be satisfied with your purchase.
After receiving the replacement, your concerns related not to damage, but to its appearance and the natural yellowing of some leaves. As living plants, Cordylines can experience transplant shock following transport and repotting, and some variation in shape, structure and appearance is entirely normal. This is clearly stated on our product pages.
Despite being satisfied that the replacement tree was healthy and supplied in good condition, we still offered a resolution. Unfortunately, it appears the real issue was not that we were unwilling to help, but that you were unhappy with the options available under our returns policy.
While we appreciate that our proposed solutions were not the outcome you were hoping for, there is a difference between a company being unhelpful and a company declining to offer terms beyond those it is contractually required to provide.
We stand by the steps taken to resolve this matter, including replacing the original tree at no charge and offering further refund options thereafter.
Great size plant, however suffered with long delivery time.
I managed to find the plant we were looking for, at a reasonable size, instead of elsewhere who were selling shrubs at a starter small pot size. Actually, when it arrived, the shrub was much larger than expected, which was a plus. The only downside, was the length of time between being dispatched and actually delivered. So much so that the plant arrived VERY dry, with a lot of dead leaves that had fallen off. Thankfully, we watered it heavily, and got it in the ground the next day, andit looks like it's going to recover OK.

Good variety of older exotic plants
The company is quite good had ordered bamboo trees/plants before. They did arrive 3 weeks later than promised but in good health. They said they were trying to have more frequent deliveries to my part of the uk. My latest delivery though was 5 months later than promised before it arrived. I had to contact them and they said it would be delivered in 2 weeks. Contacted them every so often. They had problems with their supplier. A good company with reasonably priced trees and plants. But they do have supply problems. If they had fixed there supply problems I would have rated them higher.

However, delivery timelines to the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland can sometimes be longer because we don’t run frequent routes to those areas, which can unfortunately lead to extended waiting times compared to mainland UK deliveries.
