I had my MOT done for the first time here, The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back to get anything I ever need doing on my car. Great prices too.
100% recommend.

Very bad service, I booked MOT, and tyres change when went there told me I'm not on the booking time as I booked on website as it was for 1PM and been told to wait for 3pm, had no choices but wait.
I was waiting at MOT waiting area for 30 minutes and a guy came and told that they don't have the tyres that I have ordered however the order was placed 10 days in advance, asked the guy can they use other brands and changed my tyres and they told me that they haven't got anything on that size which I was surprised as that size is common one.
Use to do my services and MOT'S there but NOT anymore. Very disappointed. So unprofessional.

Satisfactory Experience

My wife recently had the misfortune to visit F1 autocentres in Brentwood Essex. F1 had offered a free car exhaust check and she took up the offer.

It was agreed that a replacement of the rear section of the exhaust was probably advisable. Due to the age of the car it was not an “off the shelf” item. F1 staff said they would investigate if one could be found and would ring in a day or two with the result.

She received a subsequent call saying indeed the item had been located and was quoted a price of £182 including parts labour and VAT.
She duly returned to F1 today to be informed that the fittings had not been ordered and was expected to wait around until they arrived in an “hour or two.”

She was then asked to pay an extra £62 for parts that had been quoted as part of the original price. She felt, quite rightly, that she had been conned with a price to get her there and then an attempt to up the price on the day.

Be warned if you are tempted to use F1 autos get your quote in writing. If not it could cost you!
Probably no surprise to anyone, she will not be returning to F1 autocentres any time soon!

Made internet booking for Sunday morning & paid in advance, service total rip off avoid this company completely as Staff new nothing of booking, refused to deal with vehicle, claiming understaffed & fully booked
Came back Monday as instructed to examine & repair car, messed about by same person, again saying cannot do repair. Staff have ZERO customer interest . Made complaint to head office & booking refund agreed. You cannot contact anyone out of hours or request refund. This northern company takes your money & doesn’t give service.

I had a terrible experience at Formula One Autocentres - Brentwood, a tyre shop that I strongly advise you to avoid. When I arrived, the staff immediately asked if I had blocks for a Tesla, which are necessary to lift the car. I informed them that I had one, but they still refused to change the tyre, claiming that they required at least one more block (personally, I am able to change a tyre with just one block.). It was clear that they simply did not want to spend any time changing the tyre, bad customer attitude and had no willingness to help whatsoever. As a tyre shop, they must have all the necessary tools to do their job, but in this case, they did not. Overall, I recommend avoiding this autocentre shop at all costs, as they do not seem interested in doing their job properly.

I use the Brentwood branch for servicing, MOT, brakes etc and have always been happy with customer service and price. My mother had a puncture so I recommended she use Brentwood Formula One Autocentre. She rang up and said they could see her straight away, when she got they they took the car straight in, checked the tyre, repaired it, swapped over the spare, reset the alarm and they didn’t charge her a penny. She asked to pay and the gentleman who looked after her said nothing to pay this time. This level of customer service and friendliness is so rare these days and I will always consider Brentwood branch first for my motoring needs, as well as telling everyone about the great service they provide. Well done Formula One Autocentre you are building business on customer service and trust.

What a cracking customer service from F1 Brentwood. My pride and joy campervan managed to pick up a slow puncture whilst roaming a farm the other day so was not feeling herself. The boys at Brentwood managed to find a tiny hole, plugged and glued it and she’s back on the road ready for the next adventure. Thank you team - I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending ending their services!

I had so much problems with my clutch and took it to Chelmsford branch and they didn’t have the the Pearson can look at my car and the manager Owen send me to Brentwood and the staff were very helpful and they did very good job. I knew I could trust them. Georgeel and Adam fixed my car and I can drive my car safe on the road again. I just want to thank you to Owen George el and Adam for fixings my car. I recommend to everyone to use formula one

Avoid this place at all costs! Massive lack in customer care and knowledge of anything more than an MOT or change of tyres!!!

Where do I start if I could I would not even give a star

I took my car for an MOT and service at the Brentwood Autocentre with my car in perfect condition . I picked the car up approximately a few hours later. Upon driving my car back home I heard a noise coming from the engine. I waited to see in the morning if the noise still persisted, which it did. I then took the car back to the garage and explained the problem. The same mechanic was confused at the noise also and couldn't figure out the issue, I had a suspicion it was something to do with the oil during the service, I then mentioned this to the mechanic his response was that they use specialist oil which is recommended, I then showed him the oil that I use which was a Castrol brand they immediately ordered 3L of the brand that I use. The mechanic got my car up on the ramp and proceeded to drain the oil out that he originally put in and replaced with the oil that I use. Having placed my trust in the mechanic I did find it concerning the amount of oil he proceeded to put in. Once I started the car up the noise was considerably worse and was advised to leave the car there overnight, resulted in me losing out on time and money. I was told I would receive a phone call which never came so I went down to the garage the next day, I was told that the problem could not be rectified by the manager but said if I take the car to an Audi specialist the company would compensate the costs, again time and money lost. Having got my car back as soon as I left to join the A12 I noticed hearing a scraping noise I immediately pulled over and looked under the car the undertray was hanging off and scraping on the ground from when the mechanic done the oil change. I took the car back immediately they could not locate the bolts that was originally removed from my car and proceeded to use cable ties to secure it. Which in my opinion is unacceptable. I then took my car to an Audi specialist who confirmed amongst many other issues with the service done that there was an issue with the oil used. Having relayed this information back to head office at Formula one they took no accountability and refused to pay the cost from the Audi specialist and even proceeded to pass the buck on to me in regards to the oil that I use saying that caused the issue. Having gone back and forth with this Formula One offered to compensate me for the Service but not for what I had to pay to get the car back from the Audi specialist, which I refused.

I then took this further at the dissatisfaction that this company didn't want to take accountability and proceeded with taking this to County Court and enforcement. which cost me time and money.

I am happy to say after 8 months of frustration and headache Formula one was forced to pay for damages and compensation and the case is now closed.

I will no longer be using this company for an MOT and Service and would strongly advise anyone to avoid at all costs as the main issue for me was the taking of no accountability which ultimately worked against them and cost more.

I had a really bad puncture on my car and limped to the garage. Unfortunately it couldn’t be repaired and they didn’t have the correct tyre in stock so I organised a tyre to come from a different supplier and the guys fitted it free of charge! Amazing. I tried to pay but they wouldn’t have it! One of them even gave up his drink to give to my very thirsty grandson.

I recently had cause to book my car into Formula 1 (initially at Chelmsford) with a clutch peddle linkage problem. Chelmsford carried out an initial repair and recommended I contact their specialist senior engineer, George at Brentwood.
I found both the branch managers, Owen at Chelmsford, Adam at Brentwood and George in particular, to be faultless in their level of courtesy, attention to detail and service. I would honestly have no problem recommending them to anyone.

I have used the Formula one Brentwood branch quite a few times over the years and I am always impressed with the friendliness of the team and their willingness to go the extra mile for their customers. Whether that be topping up your oil or changing a light bulb for you whilst they complete your service.
Adam is an asset to the team and a big thank you for fitting in my inspection today when I arrived on the off chance, despite the fact that the workshop looked very busy today.
Well done to the team; always excellent customer service 😊
