Despicable.

I received a PCN from my local council that was sent to an address from four years ago!

I of course never received this and only knew I had a penalty when I received a threatening text from Equita.

I called them and asked what the debt was for and I was instantly threatened with enforcers coming to my house if I didn’t pay the full amount.

I asked to setup a payment plan as money is tight and I was told they didn’t offer that.

I therefore paid part of the balance and over the following weeks paid an additional four instalments, all at the same time as continuing to receive threatening texts.

I then called them to see what choices I had as I didn’t have any more money until I got paid again. The answer? No choice.

I was told that I wouldn't choose to not pay my mortgage so I shouldn’t not pay this? I was told that this should be my priority and that if I didn’t pay today I would have my car collected from me and sold at auction? For a £290 fine!!!

I was then told that by the looks of things I had a nice car and that should mean I have the money to pay for the debt? Can you believe that!

Then when expressing my feeling of harassment and sharing how much stress this was putting me under I was told that I had no reason to feel that way and it was unjustified.

They are obviously all taught from the same textbook “how to scam and scare the vulnerable” and should all feel ashamed of how they go about their work.

Not really sure how they sleep at night… hopefully they get an unexpected debt one day and get treated in the same way.

Called Equita to arrange another payment plan as my son who has special needs has lost his job and is homeless.
He apparently agreed to a payment plan that he couldn't afford due to pressure from Equita.
Now in arrears more money is being put on the debt which was originally paid to the council but because they split the initial payment between two bills it put my son into arrears.
No help at all just threats to pay £200 today or we can not help you.
No wonder so many young men attempt suicide.
Disgusting company.

An quita agent visited me about a debt and the man has done nothing but treat me with respect. I missed 2 payments due to being sick in hospital. The guy called me just as I got out of hospital and instead of pressuring me for payment said once I was back at work to give a call and reset my payment plan. 5 stars for this guy

Scabs. Get a less degrading job and maybe you won't feel the need to bully other people
Check any debt is are real yourself as they don't seem to have anprocess for this?! Cartoonish evil goon harassed me at my doorstep for a debt I did not owe, wild goose chase to call them off via Birmingham City Council myself

Equita only exists to make people’s lives stressful. Their phone attendants are extremely rude and impolite. They do not provide full and accurate information regarding the debt and demand money in the most awful way. They are not up to negotiation. They are completely indifferent towards people with mental health issues (eg: anxiety) and makes the process hard to be dealt with.
When I called and politely enquired about the situation, they were completely rude. I lost my full day on a panic attack due to the way I was spoken to. They literally put words in my mouth to try and record me saying I was not going to pay when that was not the case. I was just simply asking for a breakdown of what was owed so I could understand why the value was meant to be paid. They literally said “so you are not going to pay then, is that it?”. When did I say I was not going to pay? I just asked for a breakdown.

To the Equita team, I please request an investigation towards Matthew and the way he speaks to people. People are already stressed due to the debt situation and being rude just makes everything worse.

Beware, excessive fees will be added to your bill without merit.

I was charged for an enforcement visit, which never happened. I believe the company practices sth. called 'phantom visits' whereby they send a runner to slide a letter through a letter box and charge as if a registered Enforcement Agent visited the property and made real attempt to contact you.

I went through a lengthy process of complaints with Equita and the creditor after we paid off the debt but disputed the enforcement charge. I was certain that the evidence I gathered was enough to prove my case, but unfortunately it is harder to prove that sth didn't happen than it did. Equita knows that and they abuse that power, so I decided to give up and pay as it started to take too much of my time and nerves.

If you have the mental capacity, give them as much pain as you can, write formal complaints, consult with Citizen's Advice, know your rights, familiarise yourself with legislation and drag the process as much possible - when complaints are being reviewed they will have to freeze the case to take time to provide response.

These m****rifkrs are f scammers. I had a parking ticket which I didn’t pay for as I didn’t really get to see the letter. 70£ was how much the ticket was . But these lot scammed me hard by increasing it to 400£ and by sending bailiffs to me. Even tho I had set up a payment plan with them. They are bunch of bas..trds and I hope the company collapses.

Never heard of them, no letters - nothing. Not even in debt and I get a vague threatening text message stating I owe money and could also be charge £235 fee on top, gave a number to call and a ref to quote but no info on what this supposed debt is. Also stated enforcement officers will be at my house at 5:30pm on 28th april 2024 - that's a sunday.

This company are harassment specialists. A limited company debt (which is in dispute with the local council) cannot be pursued at a directors home without first attending the company premises. Equita deliberately skip this process in a deliberate manner to embarrass and intimidate. Scum!

Absolutely terrible company set up a payment plan due to make my final payment of £64.paid payments on time then get a sms saying final notice we will be attending your property at 6.00am tomorrow morning the first contact I had with the company I dealt with a guy called Jordan who was very helpful since then I have sms after sms about payments even tho it was arranged I paid 4 payments of £65 February I actually paid £70 still get an sms due to make the last payment of £64 next week then get a sms threatening to come to my house for £64!!!

Mr d ramscar came round and sneaked up to the front door then very quietly and slowly put the letter through the door has to not disturb anyone. We were watching this on our ring doorbell. He then left the reason he did not knock on the door is that he could then say he tried to contact you and then increase the bill. The problem with this is the bill had been paid already.
The lady tried to tell him this on the telephone of which he hung up two times before he did. He told the lady he did not care even if she had children, he was coming to her house and removing goods and also threatened her and told her to shut up, and pay her bills
She was absolutely terrified at this moment as his man was telling her he was coming round she made a call to her partner in distress in which he said may I have his number, so I may call him of which Mr Graham‘s car was called and politely asked. Please do not be rude lady or threatening as you have scared her and he is now worried and in severe distress.
And also did not like the way he had tell, or spoke with her

And then was abusive on the phone and also threatening. This also caused concern for the safety of the lady in the house.
The fact is no money is owed, but this man just does not care
He is quite happy to threaten women that are on their own
He is happy to cause distress
He has a duty of care of which he does not
To treat people in this manner is appalling. He has been reported to the police. Also the council, the ombudsman and his company has even said they’ll be dealing with the matter. Please report this thug to the police. He can’t be allowed to continue threatening people.

If at all possible could 'TrustPilot' change their format, why is there a precondition of applying 'STARS' rating before being allowed to post an honest factual account regarding a corporate entity involved in fleecing the gullible, voiceless and unrepresentative masses ? The very essence of in-bedding certain criteria and constructing an endless array of loops to jump through before we even begin to be allowed to voice our concerns should be very concerning. Lets see and witness for ourselves the proper checks and balances without restraint for accountability and rightful transparency.

A blithering idiot had the audacity to show up uninvited at my doorstep on Monday, claiming I owed an outstanding fine. Little did he know, I am not a fool like him. In a moment of reluctant compliance, I paid £150 on my card, but with a calculated move - I also submitted a statutory declaration to the Northampton Traffic Enforcement Centre, using my debit card for the payment to leave room for a charge back request to my bank if necessary.

The imbecile I spoke to at the customer service centre was not only rude and insolent, but completely unfit for any type of customer-facing role. How dare he disrespect me in such a way?

Unprofessional. Aggressive. Intimidating. This company doesn’t respond to any communications, yet harrass and threaten you constantly. Lack the intelligence to speak to you like human beings and think they’re some kind of mafia enforcers! Hope they sleep well at night

Garreth vine is a p***obsessed with going to peoples houses especially if he hears it’s a single mum. I asked for a date to pay and he refused don’t know why he’s obsessed with going to peoples houses if they’ve already agreed to make a payment. Chill your niknaks you little pum pum.

Absolutely horrible!!

They came to my property while I was not at home and obstruction my wife to leave home who was just going to drop my little daughter to nursery. He was rude and arrogant.
I paid the amount over the phone same day and was told that they will send a receipt via email but I didn't get any receipt even after 5 days of making the payment. The shocking part is that even the company has no record of my payment. Absolutely shameful. How can a company operate like this and on top the councils are giving jobs to them. Something needs to be done. They have no sympathy about anyone or their circumstances.

The most disgusting inhumane people I have ever come across. Rude and do not have any proof that the council has appointed them come to demand to take your goods without having any letter of authorization and no previous communication. They say they are not able to communicate via email. I will be speaking to my lawyer about this harassment.
