I can only describe the service from this company as shambolic.
I was paying via the app which has had technical issues. Tried to log in online with no joy.
Previously when calling Equita, they told me they couldn't discuss my account as it was with the enforcement agency. Tried to contact them with no joy of them calling back from my voicemails.
I've sent online emails which advise they would get back withing 28 days. Really?? As it was online there was no documentation of my email.
Managed to get hold of their office today and the attitude after I tried to explain was.." So you just want to pay then".
Disgraceful to say the very least. Not my fault they are having technical.issues.
I will be relieved when my account is paid off. Should have just let them knock on the door and give them my attitude.

What a crap company a councils should stop using them we wanted to pay our account off but thay wouldn't accept it trying to contact the enforcement agent thay wont answer all thay keep teling me is wate for the enforcement agent to contact me and pay them the balance plus £275 costs so i rang the council thay have taken the payment and told equita the account is closed. Up yours equita

What a DISGRACE to this country.
An ABSOLUTE disgrace and should NEVER be allowed to trade.
You try ringing them , find out for yourself ( if you don’t die of old age waiting for them to answer )

I am a secure council tenant and due to a lengthy illness and running out of life savings, one office of my local council was calculating my council tax support, the office next door was taking me to court for not paying council tax.

I phoned the council and filled out a form they sent me, but they cannot calculate Council Tax Support based on zero income! I have to have Universal Credit or something coming in first! So this takes months due to my health issues and zero savings and zero income.

So I get threats from Equita as there’s now a liability order.

The landlord part of the council tell me to phone Equita and the poll tax part of the council and explain the situation again and ask Equita to hold off on enforcement for a month and ask the council to set it aside until things are sorted out. I am told it should be fine, as by then they should have sorted out my entitlements, as I have been entitled to claim for six year and I should not have just spent all my life savings paying everything in full when I was entitled to various benefits after paying taxes for 30 years, and was paying all my rent and council tax in full during that time.

So I phoned Equita, plug in my reference number and get interrupted because I am not fast enough. So I try again and the voice says “I did not catch that” and put me “through to an agent”.

But no one answers. For days.

My PAYG mobile is for emergencies only, and costs 35p per minute. So over the next few days I try several more times, enter the reference number and then the PIN, but they "didn't catch that" for the PIN! £18 of phone credit later, I try setting up an arrangement on their web site, and they said my suggested payment proposal has not been processed due to “incorrect details".

FIVE times.

Clearly, they do not answer the phone and have a fake arrangement app on their web site because they want to charge me another £175 for not making an arrangement by their deadline.

This company is a DISGRACE
The customer services is actually the most ignorant , disgraceful incompetent I have ever witnessed in the 50 years I have walked this planet.
I was PROMISED a call back by “Dan” a supervisor.
I KNEW he wouldn’t call back.
I can’t put into words how bad they are.

I had been sent council tax arrears bill and i complained to council but did not receive any confirmation then i decided to pay the arrears for council tax about £150 and surprise i receive a text massage from Equita Ltd a few days later asking me to call them. I called them only to be told that i have to pay their fees of £75 as they had court order ,i tried to explain but the rude lady by the name of Abby refused to listen. I tried to tell her that they have not written to me so why are they know demanding payment ,She said pay up or face further costs and put phone down. Very rude staff and operate on illegal terms. I am know going to complaint to Local Government Ombudsman, The Civil Enforcement Association (CIVEA) and expose this company which operates outside law. Please complain to get this company shut down as they practice illegal tactics

i had a bailiff from Equita Ben Holmes turn up at my mother's address where I live ,who proceeded to clamp my mother's car , which had my blue badge displayed on the windscreen ,

apparently he didn't see it because it was dark and the car had rain on the windscreen , contacted CIEVA they're just about as much use as used toilet roll

so I decided to complain to the court where he got his bailiff certificate from , sent the form off to the court , few days later I get a letter back from the court , telling me to attend a hearing for my complain

roll on, and the day of the hearing comes and surprise surprise the bailiff didn't turn up , which I find strange as before he had so much to say , lies of course , the judge was not happy and even mentioned that if what I claim is true , is , then his job is on the line

I almost felt sorry for him ,for about a nano second if that , and then thought wait a minute , he turns up illegally clamps my mother's car
lies, tries to trick me , and wanted to deprive me and my mother the use of her car all for a couple of hundred quid , the car was purchased for over £7000 , and he wanted to illegally take it

I think you can guess the rest , it even pains me to be forced to give Equita 1 star , I told him I was coming for him , he didn't believe me and after him I have Equita in my sight , as I complained to them and all I got was BS and ignorance from a K Tuk (customer services), I suggest Equita get their legal team ready , one word MALADMINISTRATION

This guys are scumbags. Why aint the government shutting this guys down. I had payment plan to pay £100 a month on 19th of each month i made payment on 18/03/19 but they came and clamped my car yesterday (wednesday) morning, saying they did not recieve any payment after arguing this guys they first said it was made on wrong reference then said it wasnt paid to any reference but left floating on the account. I HAD TO PAY £235.00 FOR ENFORCEMENT STAGE. I HAVE APPEALED AND SEND IN FORMAL DEMAND FOR REFUND

This company is a FRAUD and currently undergoing investigation! Do not do business with them. You do not need to have any contact with them or talk to any of their representatives at any time no matter what threats they send. They have been caught on several occasions breaking the Laws!. They are liars and use very unlawful enforcement methods. If they try telling you they have a court warrant or liability order for a parking fine or a civil matter then they are lying! they can't get any of these. They will tell you they can and try to scare you into paying them ridiculous fees.

They are a limited company, They are not police or above the law. They have the same amount of power and control as you! They cannot have you arrested for obstructing them doing their dirty fraud although they will try and tell you they can this is another scare tactic.

Heres some advise incase you ever have to deal with these jokers:

1. Get your phone out and film them straight away. You have every right to film them on your property or in a public place no matter what they try and say.

2. Ask for ID and to see what paper work they have that allows them to enforce, They will show you a fake document make sure you record it. They may also say they don't have to show you just so they can protect themselves from being sussed out. You have a right to see this document before any action is taken agaisnt you

3. Visit The Taking Control of Goods Regulations 2013 on the government website and point out the several laws they have just broken and make sure you film their awareness of it as you explain to them.

Finally: Tell them to go and do one!

What horrible people!!!!
Got behind with council tax so bailiffs called to remove goods.The only option I was given was to pay £500 or face prison (which he told me "you would probably only do 30 days inside as it's not a great deal of money") I had to ring him back at teatime that evening with a decision. I'm a 50 year old woman and I have never been so frightened in my life!!!!Luckily I have a good family that pulled together to get the money and paid him off.

Just like to say a big thank to Adrian who helped me so much today and Mr hunter I know he havint got the best job were everyone likes u but today they both helped me out so much being a single mother and having mental health problems when I got the letter for removal my world came crashing down ur one step in front for once but then when u get a removal letter it's like 20 miles back I used to hate ringing up as no one would help me but today I had the help I needed from Adrian and Mr hunter and thank u these guys are here to help there not the enermy talk to them there human to and have bills to pay just like us so thank u once again for the big help today xxxx

Equita are scum as are Bexley council who they work for...they are rude and make up the rules as they go along and just try to ruin peoples lives totally disgusting and should be shut down...I hope the people that work for both Equita and Bexley Council suffer a massive dose of karma for all the c**p they put people through they deserve it!

Absolute scum bags from the directors down to the phone assistants to the recovery people .... scammed me into paying £950 and 2 days letter I received a letter for £710.

When I questioned said it’s the enforcement agent charges and kept putting the phone down on me. Only paid because did want them to hassle my tenants.

Cowards hide behind the phone. Can’t even provide me with explaination. Beat them in all the arguments and disconnects the phone.

So unprofessional, what you hear on the News about these bailiffs recently is correct, they put fear in you for there own benifit not the company you owe. Made me agree to £300 a month (which I could not afford) without doing an affordability assessment which the council ask they do. I will forever be in debt with concil if this company keep chasing me with these tactics
