Power cut off for around 20 hours in a…

Power cut off for around 20 hours in a 48 hour period due to fault. I'm on the priority services register because of a medical condition (they offered nothing to help with this). Had to stay up till 4am till the power was restored. They're now saying they won't pay out compensation as even if the power returns for a few minutes it resets the 12 hour clock. I was then told there may be more cuts to come. Being able to do this to people with no repercussions is disgusting.

Made my young family homeless!

New connection for an extension cancelled twice. New timeframes are always months away! Home is not safe to live until existing connection is removed and new one replaced! spent thousands on these incompetent connections team. They don't care that we have nowhere to live with vulnerable children!

Immediate Response

I rang Shannon at Warrington HQ at 09-30 explaining that I had found woodworm in the board holding the Electric Equipment in the garage .She was most helpful and promised to get it seen to ! That same afternoon 2 engineers ( Nick from Milnthorpe and his mate from Kendal ) removed all the equipment off the infested board, replaced that board with a clean treated one and reinstalled the electric equipment. First Class Service. Well done Electricity Northwest.

Poor service all round

There was an outage in my street and it was sorted after a few hours. However, upon checking my alarm i found it wasn't working. I called out the electrician who concluded that it had blown and i needed a new alarm panel and keypad.
I then contacted ENWL who were unsympathetic from the start stating it's not their responsibility for the damage caused to my alarm. How can they even say this without any evidence. They quickly concluded that it wasn't their fault and they had no intentions to put things right for me. I provided photographic evidence and even suggested they send out someone to fix this issue as i was clearly unhappy. They have offered me a measly £30 for the inconvenience. I am very disappointed with ENWL and the customer service they have provided. I genuinely believe they need to to be more customer focussed and when things go wrong to put things right again. They simply stated we are at a deadlock and i need to take this up with the energy ombudsman. I wrote an email to their chief executive hoping he could have a look at my case again and made another offer or sort out my alarm, to my dismay, he simply said i had exhausted their complaints process. I just wish we could choose who maintains our electricity and i wouldn't ever choose ENWL, shocking service. I will be taking this up with the ombudsman and hope that they order ENWL to fix my alarm.

Job application process unprofessional …

Went through a recent application process that was a forgone conclusion giving the job to an internal applicant.

It was made clear they had internal at applicants during the application process alluding to the fact this was an issue.

Waited 4 weeks with no update and had to chase an update in the end.

Disclosed I had a disability, but it seems the company don’t practise what their policies promote around diverse inclusion.

One Manager yawning at the interview very off putting during the process and the body language provided didn’t reflect the fact he felt someone with Neurodivergent could manage a team of people.

Poor feedback after 4 weeks providing a generic e mail explaining nothing around any specifics why I wasn’t successful after inteview.

The whole experience was one of the worst I’ve ever had applying for a job, absolutely not handled in a professional or inclusive manner having an appreciation/understanding for a neurodiverse applicant.

I had another application ongoing aswell that I withdrawn after this experience , as once again zero feedback provided after 3 weeks of waiting.

I can see why the reviews are really poor on here now, as the application process is a mirrored reflection of the approach customers are experiencing here.

I wouldn’t recommend this company to any of my wider business colleagues on this basis.

A lack of care for recruiting a diverse workforce and replying to his customers issues on here really speak volumes for the company is being managed at a higher level.

Very sad considering this could be a great company.

Phoned in a fault/dangerous condition…

Phoned in a fault/dangerous condition on a service head @1330. 59 minutes LATER 2 jointers were leaving site having replaced the service head and cutout, replaced a woodworm fiddled meter board and fitted an isolator . UNBELIEVABLE SERVICE work carried out by two very polite lads. To say I was impressed is an understatement

Bunch of jokers that don't answer the phone

Tried calling Electricity North West several times, first selecting the general enquiries option which plays a message saying they are very busy and drops the call after 4/5 minutes.

I then tried the option for complaints which repeated the same message for 20 minutes before again dropping the call. Impossible to contact!

You have left a footpath closed since…

You have left a footpath closed since the 5th January, you have left an elderly gentleman struggling to get out of his garage and then he has to monoviure through a 6 ft gap on his drive because you have blocked his drive off, your customer service is absolutely shambles, have you not at all any thought for this elderly gentleman, you soon put the work correctly on highways but not on people's drives!! Shame on you .job ref JG220NP-F40993439 please get this removed so he can get off his drive without causing any distress.

Terrible service provider

Terrible service provider, hard to get hold of on the phone and little to no care for the customer. We have had 5 power cuts for days at a time over the last few months, it causes havoc with everything electrical in our property. So sick of having to deal with them and everytime there’s a bit of wind we seem to have a power cut. They don’t care we have a young child at home and being without power has a massive impact.

I would give zero stars if I could….
Received a text to say the whole of my area will be without electricity on the 25/1 between 9-3.30pm.
I wanted more information so I have rang them over the course of the day only to be cut off EVERY time after holding for at least 10 minutes! So either there is an issue with the phones or the staff just can’t be bothered speaking to people so just cut everyone off.

I would like to know who is going to pay out for my food which will go off if I have no electricity all day and my freezer will defrost too….?

I also work from home so I am going to lose a days work as I won’t be able to use my laptop. Is this company going to pay for that too? I think not!
And if it goes past 3.30pm with no electric on and I will have no one I can talk to to see what’s happening then what?

Utter disgrace of a company.
You CANNOT just turn people’s electric off ALL day coz you have ‘work’ to do…..

awful service

awful service i am waiting since september from my 1st connection date to be told sorry cant do work will gave another date. rang complaints ring several times just keep giving more and more dates and when date comes close oh sorry we cant take that route need a new route. wait another 10 years. awful experience they know iv paid money and cant get it done else where so its a joke.

Outstanding service - so lucky to have this great supplier.

Having suffered a power supply to our house - Electricity North West sent a team out within a few hours to identify the problem and within 24 hours power was restored. Within 3 days the restoration works were complete too. All the staff involved - the call centre - the electrical engineers and the civil engineers were great. They were very helpful, friendly and true experts. They made sure the job was completed to a really high standard. Well done Electricity North West!! Thanks so much.

James is the Man.

I was meeting Mr James Gregory as a construction coordinator at a site we were doing work with ENW. He was extremely polite, professional and huge amount of knowledge which he was kind enough to share. He then physically fixed the situation saving thousands for my client. I wish all service people I meet would be as good as he was.

Weekend emergency response

We called ENW on Sunday, 26th November, following the implosion of a very ancient piece of equipment which handled the power supply as it entered our property. Although our power was still on your staff determined that the unit should be replaced there and then which was a great relief to us.
The job involved digging up the pavement to isolate our supply, thereby saving the rest of the street from a temporary blackout. Despite the evening being dark, cold and miserable your guys set about the job with good humour and explained what they were doing along the way.
We were disconnected for less than an hour and now have an up to date unit installed in our cellar.
All the people we dealt with were professional, efficient and reassuring and we can't thank you enough but a special shout out to Gareth and Sean who carried out the job and have made our home safe once more. We're very pleased to have you as our supplier.

Electricity went off yesterday (Sunday)…

Electricity went off yesterday (Sunday) afternoon 2.50pm called out ENWL arrived within hour. Found out fault external offered to bring mobile generator later that afternoon. Explained would stay at sons home for evening. Today generator arrived 8 am and shortly after work Team arrived. Every one who has been was a pleasure to deal with polite courteous and respectful of property. Extremely happy with the service provided Thank you

Great customer service but you guys…

Great customer service but you guys need a way of logging a powercut quickly via the website that auto generates a power cut update. Had to have a 5+ min call just to notify ENW because the site said no reports had been made when in fact there had been a lot of calls.
