Good customer service
The advisor was great at following up the claim process to keep things moving and easy for me to contact if I had queries. Once I had provided the necessary documents the payment was made very quickly directly into my bank account.

Insuring my eBike
I contacted ’CycleGuard’ about insurance to cover recovery & third party liability for my eBike… The online quote process was easy & very straightforward… within minutes I was offered the cover I wanted at a reasonable price… at no time during the process was I asked about the specification of my eBike, or evidence of value or ownership…. Alarm bells started ringing, so I telephoned them to ask a few questions…
It transpired that information about the value & specific wattage of my eBike would only be sought in the event of a claim… and that ‘recovery’ consisted of a taxi being ordered to recover me AND my eBike to my home address!!
Effectively I was being miss-sold a product that would have been invalid in the event of a claim… laughable … ‘Caveat Emptor’….

To cover the points you raised in order:
1 - Its great to hear that you found the application process quick and easy. Our UX team work hard to try and reduce customer struggle and make it as simple as possible.
2 - Within the website and within the application process there is a "lock list and e-bike requirements" document that you will have ticked to say that you have read in order to be able to complete the purchase. You can find that document here if you didn't read it as part of the process (https://www.cycleguard.co.uk/-/media/files/cycle/cycleguard-locklist.pdf).
This document outlines the types of electric bike that are able to be covered on the cycleGuard policy (including speed, maximum continuous rated power, ignition type, pedals) in order to help mitigate against customers attempting to insure a bike that would not be covered (which is not in the best interests of either the customer or cycleGuard).
3 - We do not ask for evidence of value or ownership in the same way your motor or home insurer would not request this. Again, as part of the process you will have indicated that you have accurately completed the application which would include the value of your bike.
4 - With regards to the query on recovery, it appears that you are unhappy that the cover takes both you AND your bike back to your home address. This is common practice as we would not want to leave either you OR your bike abandoned where the breakdown has occurred. The use of a taxi that is able to safely transfer you and your bike also appears to be a challenge. If you are able to elaborate on the issue that would be greatly appreciated so that we can ensure we can pick up on any potential issue with this approach.

When my bike was stolen
When my bike was stolen, I was lucky to have had a Cycleguard cover, who took it upon themselves, upon receiving the required documentation, provided a voucher for the full amount to get my bike back.

Prompt and Helpful
My e bike got stolen after 3 years of active insurance.
1 was devastated as it was my only mode of transport to and from work. Cycle Guard claim department was very helpful and prompt. They helped get the insured amount in full for replacement.
I am very thankful to Jamie and the team.
