I was just on the website comparethemarket.com.au to compare health insurance. I went through a wizard, that among other things, asked me to provide my phone number. 5 minutes later I got a phone call from them thrying to sell me health insurance. I did not explicitly consent to get solicited for health insurance via the phone.
This practice is not legal in Australia. Under the APPs, organisations must not use or disclose personal information for direct marketing purposes unless certain conditions are met, such as the individual's explicit consent.

I recently changed electricity companies at the guidance of compare the market. A huge mistake . A month in and my electricity bill increased and the recommended company does not have plans that suit my solar system and I also lost my off peak rates. Very disappointed and won’t be recommending compare the market to anyone

Got my 4 quotes for house and contents. Then my renewal notice arrived from Budget Direct for$861.36 (up 25% from last year). However, Budget Direct was the cheapest of the 4 Compare the Market suggested... same information so comparing apples with apples etc.
To my horror your quote was $1599. Same company so who is getting the $700 difference??? Just be warned. CR

Tried a quote for a cruise - all options came up to Fastcover, who do not cover cruises at all at present. Useless.

Warning: Do not use them! Once they have your contact details they spam you multiple times per day from many numbers even after you ask to be removed from the database.

I got an AGL connection through them despite already being an AGL customer through another connection on the understanding that I don't lose anything if I directly apply to AGL. I ended up losing the Amazon prime subscription given to direct clients. They maybe covered legally but they misled me in the spirit of the law. So I would strongly suggest caveat empte/buyer beware if you use the site or directly apply because there is no benefit. very very disappointing.

very disappointed service. i was told incorrct info when switched my health insurance policy and now facing large out of pocket medical costs. do not use their service

Service provided by Sam was excellent. He knew his stuff and was so helpful and patient. Great for anyone who wants health insurance.

Working here made my depression worse and considered suicide. They use ‘training’ as sanctioned bullying.

I was convinced to change private health insurance from BUPA to NIB, after I had changed for a lower premium I found out that what I had been told was not correct. ie dental and optical claim was per policy not per person, they has included the government rebate which I did not want done. When NIB was contacted they said that they couldn't do anything about it, because it had been set up by "compare the market".
I would not recommend "Compare the market" do your own research. They are not interested in getting the best deal for you, only in making the best commission for themselves.
I am now back with Bupa, but lost conditions on a old policy that had been discontinued.

I found a better deal myself after being disappointed with the results returned by Compare The Market.
I think thye only compare some of the market and push products owned by their parent company

The home insurance quotes were more than double what I am already paying. Absolute waste of time.

When I asked for an online quote I was bombarded with calls for days. Finally when picking up I spent more time going through every detail AGAIN because the operator didn't have access to my initial inquiry, all except my phone number apparently. Very pushy and relentless and treated me like a child. Would not send me the PDS. Watch out for the operator trying to avoid questions by going off-topic. Very manipulative. Lost all trust. Thanks for nothing Compare The Market and Zoe.

I spoke with Rohan today as I thought I was paying a little too much with the health fund I was currently with. Rohan managed to find me the exact same cover with all the extras I wanted saving me $30 a fortnight on Payments. He was also very lovely to speak with

They gave me 5 quotes all more expensive that my renewal notice. They even quoted a price dearer than my renewal with the the same company.....
