Don’t ever get these people to install…
Don’t ever get these people to install a building they lie about the installation date and they don’t give a shit about you and there rude
Do NOT Trust Carolina Carport - Rude Service & Excessive Delays
I am extremely disappointed with Carolina Carport. I ordered a carport on 29 April 2025 with a promised delivery of 4-6 weeks (Posted on their website). Today is 6/25/2025, and my order is still delayed with a projected 16 July installation date. Beware of third party promises that sell their buildings, Carolina Carport doesn't honor anything they say to get you to buy the building.
The customer service is shockingly rude and unhelpful, prioritizing company processes over customer needs (Actually Supervisor Valerie prioritized her 5 min break over speaking to a dissatisfied customer). Their delivery system, which waits for convenient installer routes, is unacceptable and led to significant delays beyond the advertised timeframe. Business model is one sided, expecting customer accountability, but not holding themselves accountable when they violate timelines they advertised.
I have completely lost trust in Carolina Carport and will never do business with them again. I strongly recommend avoiding this company and the third-party vendor Garage & Shed Supply out of Virginia. if you are a Veteran and think accountability is important, take it from this Veteran, this organization will leave you disappointed.
Steven M.D'Ostroph - Order # Apr 30, 2025
Carolina Carport has no integrity.
They’ve lied to me 3 times now about the installation. Tomorrow has come and gone more than twice they’ve said they’re loading the truck now and will be there in the morning. I would cancel but I’ve waited for so long to start over with someone else. It’s definitely not been worth the hassle. If I were to do it again I would find someone else.
From Deposit to Cancellation — Misled, Ignored, and Dismissed
I signed a contract with Alan's Factory Outlet (CCI dealer) on February 4, 2025, and submitted my site photos to Carolina Carports on April 27. From that point forward, I upheld every part of my agreement—yet not a single communication was ever initiated by the company. I had to reach out repeatedly just to get the most basic updates, which were vague and unhelpful at best.
When I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager, I was told, “they will just tell you the same thing,” as if escalation was a waste of everyone’s time. One employee, H******, falsely claimed I was the first customer in over 20 years to raise concerns like mine—despite the hundreds of 1- and 2-star reviews that say otherwise.
She also falsely told me that the company’s CEO, Adela Herrera, was “just a shareholder”—a claim I later confirmed to be completely untrue. Official business filings in Georgia and Florida clearly list Mrs. Herrera as CEO and President.
Even more concerning: when I referenced a promise made during an earlier call, H**** told me she would “listen to the recorded call.”** There was no disclosure that calls were being recorded, and since Carolina Carports services Florida—a two-party consent state— this either means the company is recording customers illegally or that the threat was simply used as an intimidation tactic.
I have since canceled my order and received a full refund. I’m now working with a local builder who values honest timelines, transparent communication, and respect for the customer—three things sorely lacking in my experience with Carolina Carports.
Bottom line: The product may be fine, but the business culture is broken. The communication failures, misrepresentation, and dismissiveness I experienced were not just inconvenient—they were unacceptable. I hope leadership will take accountability and make real changes for the sake of future customers.
Wonderful crew and delivered as ordered
The crew that came to deliver and install our unit was friendly and courteous. They were quick, thorough and respectful of our property. They installed a 25 x 35, 2 garage door unit in 6 1/2 hours complete with 5 guys. They did a wonderful job. I wanted to post this because I saw so many bad reviews that needed to be counteracted. The unit was exactly as ordered with no issues. The actual scheduling was a couple weeks delayed however it was expected as we had a lot of heavy rain in the previous weeks. However, when it was scheduled there was no delay at all. The crew that works out of Mississippi that goes up into west Tennessee was awesome!!! I think the crew boss name was Mario. Great job guys!!!
Scammers
In December, ( 6 eeeks behind schedule) EverSafe assembled a building for us in Punta Gorda, Florida, with sales representation from their Florida office. Unfortunately, this has turned out to be the most frustrating experience we’ve ever encountered. One moment, they are identifying as EverSafe; the next, as Carolina Carports. After they left, the job was not completed, and many components were executed poorly.
The workmanship was performed by workers who were not only unqualified but also presumably undocumented, as they could not speak English and lacked proper identification. We asked them for proof that they were allowed to work in the United States. They never could produce anything. They couldn’t even speak English. You had to use Google translate to try to communicate. They worked without hard hats or safety glasses, putting in 15-16 hour days with inadequate lighting on their helmets, which hindered their ability to see the subpar work they were leaving behind. Issues included overtightened bolts and improperly sized door openings.
Despite our requests for them to stop and correct their mistakes, they abruptly left the site, taking some of the steel with them. Now, four months later, no one from EverSafe or Carolina Carports has come to address the numerous deficiencies, which have resulted in thousands of dollars in repair costs that we have had to cover with other contractors.
At no point has anyone from EverSafe or Carolina Carports visited the site to assess the poor workmanship and the state in which the building was left. We urge everyone to be cautious; it feels like a shell game, with each company looking to pass the buck. They are now sending emails attempting to collect the final payment on a building that is incomplete and for which they..,
Do not do business with these guys
Do not do business with these guys. I am currently on active duty with US Army and since 2020 I have been dealing with an issue with this company. My issue was not necessarily a warranty problem. It was an installation problem. One whole side of the building was not attached to the frame properly, and on the other side is missing an anchor. When these guys initially came out to build, the crew was fine and if I am honest, I don’t know anything about construction. However, I soon found out how bad it was once I had a contractor come out to take a look at installing the electrical components. Also, they ran out of material for the roof and had to use tan to finish a green roof.
I did not pay the rest of what was owed until they come back out to fix the problems. Several months later, they finally come back out after I’ve already had the electric installed. They butchered the right side of the building, trying to get it attached to the frame. Also, they never installed the missing anchor on the other side. Furthermore, all doors had warped rubber seals on the bottom. When they came back out in an attempt to correct the installation problems, they told me if they just drilled more holes into the door frames to make the door tighter, It would be fine. As you can guess that was not going to correct the issue.
The gold standard for Carolina Carports is to threaten you with collections and litigation. They’re so-called “general manager”, which is kind of a joke If you know this person‘s background, employs these tactics and trains their representatives to scare people who cannot pay what they owe. In our case, it’s just a matter of being completely taken advantage of due to me being on active duty and not being home to address this properly.
What’s funny is they were going to takeoff a few hundred dollars due to the issues for me to settle. But then when I look at my statement, they literally charge me 800+ dollars because they were required to give me a call before showing up due to my dogs. That is no exaggeration. When I realize the money that they were willing to take off to settle this was that erroneous charge of over $800 to give us a courtesy call so we could put our dogs up.
This is the type of company you are dealing with, if you decide to have a building put up by Carolina Carports.
Well I ordered a 12x20 with 10 foot…
Well I ordered a 12x20 with 10 foot legs in September put 10%down and was told it would be 6to8weeks for the install I called at 8 weeks and was told by the person that sets up the install that she did not know when they would get to me because there was not enough customers in my erea she said it could be anywhere from 4weeks or some time next year and that my sales person misspoke by giving me a time of when I would receive my carport. So I cancelled my order they did give me my deposit back but charged me a handling fee
Picked up 39 screws scattered around…
Picked up 39 screws scattered around the perimeter after the job. They came back to fix a latch and some parted insulation with tape. They would not fix the obvious gap in insulation between the wall and roof saying they don’t do so called airtight insulation. Not asking for airtight just cover obvious gaps at soffits. Customer service no help. Now I’ll half to get on a ladder buy one roll of insulation and do it myself. Too bad I won’t recommend them.
Update:
Alan, hopefully your mail screeners will forward this to you because it is important. A Fully insulated garage does not mean to me 6” gaps at the soffits. Airtight certainly does not infer leaving such gaps. after spending thousands extra for an insulated building I’m expected to accept this as adequate. The insulation is not secured at the top of the side wall. So when the metal walls get hot the insulation expands opening a gap near the ceiling. And since there is no insulation in the soffit the heat rises and enters the garage.
Carolina carports came today to address this and the insulation seams separating on the end walls. They taped the seams. Within 2 hours the tape was peeling off. I’ll bet the joke was on me when they left. I gave them the 40 screws I found laying around the perimeter of the building when they came before. They did fix the latch. So I’ll have to buy the right tape that actually sticks and fix it myself and buy some rolled insulation to finish the insulation job at the soffit.
I chose your company because it thought you displayed honesty and integrity but it seems I was mistaken. You contract out your work and therefore you lose that connection with the customer. The only difference between a 1 and 5 rating is the insulation misrepresentation issue. . It’s unfortunate $50 worth of tape and insulation has resulted in a poor job and a dissatisfied customer.
Carolina Carports installed my 45 ft…
Carolina Carports installed my 45 ft long, 14 ft high, 18 ft wide carport in a timely manner with no problems. The installers were nice and worked hard.
Not what I was hoping for
The construction is sturdy and the install crew was good. My GREAT DISAPOINTMENT is that they refused to place the carport closer than 3' to my garage.I now have a gap of 3' on one side and 3.5' on the other side to close, not even square to my garage, to close if I want to keep the rain out.
Horrible customer service
When we purchased our metal building, we were told that the building was warranted for life including leaks. The building leaks every time it rains. When we called about the issue, they said they wouldn't do anything about it.
Don't use this company
Don't use this company. The dealer was professional and all went well. The concrete slab was poured according to the engineered plans from Carolina Carports. Their installers drilled 1" from the edge at an angle and broke off the foundation edge. They said something was wrong with the concrete. I'm no engineer but even I knew this was incorrect. Their own plans call for anchors to be drilled at minimum of 2" from edge. Go figure. After phone calls and emails, someone finally called back nearly 2 weeks later. I submitted numerous photos. Their response was the foundation looked old and not solid. Huh?! It's a month old and I was there for the pour. My concrete contractor even stopped by to look at the broken edge and agreed it was drilled way too close. Instead of Carolina Carports taking ownership of their mistake, the response was to try and shift blame. Their employees need some basic lessons in customer service. The incompetence is mind boggling. I'm happy to share photos of this and you be the judge.
What can I say
What can I say? When I went through Millennial Buildings, it was quick, and the quote was good and the sent me to Carolina Carports. They were quick to get the information to me and to get everything I asked for and a down payment from me. I ordered a 40'x60' garage. After that, not so good. When I called to have a site visit so they could order the building and set a date to put it in, it took almost a month to get that visit. Once I got the visit, it took over a month to get a date to construct it. They get the down payment and they over sell and over book. Not enough crews to get it up. I asked several times if it could be done by June 1, and they were confident. After I signed with them, it was just slow from them. The guys who put it up, did a quality job putting the building up. No real problem with them. The quality of the roll-up doors are poor. I don't expect them to last too long. I have read reviews about Carolina Carports and other providers, and they are pretty much the same, not good. It is a crap shoot. Overall, good building for the price but it will take time to get it up.
Zero Stars!
If I could give zero stars, I would. As someone else posted, I wish I had seen these reviews earlier. We ordered our building 3/29/2024 and were told installation would be in about 6 weeks. On 4/18/2024, I received a call that the building permit was just being requested from the county and that it would be 6 weeks from the date of the permit. After 6 weeks, I called the company to inquire about the status. I am in Georgia and was told that I would need to speak with the Georgia representative who was not there that day. When I asked if there was someone else that I could speak to, they said no. So I called back the next day and was told that installation was scheduled for July 8th and 9th. Since today is July 8th, I called requesting answers. After speaking with a very rude lady (Nicole), I asked to speak to her boss. She placed me on hold for about 5 minutes and another lady picked up. When I proceeded to tell my story, she said, "You don't need to start over. You've been on speaker phone and I know what's going on." Then why place me on hold for 5 minutes??!!
After a total of 30 minutes and being placed on hold numerous times, I was told (again very rudely) that they do not know when the installation will be. They also had no comment as to why I was previously told July 8th & 9th. I asked to speak to their boss, but they said that "no one there would give me a different answer". I told them that they were not providing very good customer service and they really didn't seem to care. Such a disappointment!
Crew did not show up as informed damedeg materials received
Crew did not show up as informed. Crew could not speak english. Lead also installed one wall wrong not as designed. The garage door has dents across one rib and the side entry door h as a hole in it. I called the day of installation while the crew was still working but had to leave a msg and have not been called back. I paid in advance seven weeks before delivery and the lead guy asked how I was going to pay what a cluster. Trying to resolve this peacefully but I may have to take this to court. M Ross 661 400 7798
Satisfied with Building construction,But...
Satisfied with Building construction. The roll up doors locks would not work and when I called, I was told that they would send a crew out to fix them. After 3 weeks and no one showing up, I called back and was told it would only be repaired when there was a crew in my area and it stand it would be months away. I am going on vacation and need to be able to secure the building. You would think that they would have someone that could do the punch list repairs in a timely manner. Poor Customer Service and representative was borderline rude. A lot different from when I was in the purchase process.
Haven’t even got my carport yet and…
Haven’t even got my carport yet and have received such poor customer service it’s pathetic. Very bad attitudes, snotty and basically don’t care about there customers at all. I wish I had found this site before I decided to order one from them. Would have definitely gone with a competitor. Will update when and if I ever get the carport.
Had a 50x30 building installed rural…
Had a 50x30 building installed rural New York. Building went up fine after a year both 12 foot roll up doors wouldn’t go up or down. When I called and spoke to a representative she said we no longer work in NY. Wouldn’t send a repair contractor or even supply the schematic so my repairman could figure out how to fix it. Disgusted by the way I was treated rude and unprofessional.
If I could give 0 stars I would
If I could give 0 stars I would. This has been the most unprofessional, unstable, unreliable company I have EVER had the disadvantage of working with.
I ordered a barn with them in February, For the first 3 weeks I was going back and forth between reps because The rep couldnt even get the correct measurements with the barn, so then the builders would email back and state that they cannot move forward without correct measurements, so when I called the rep back to fix it the rep couldnt figure out what the problem was, they told me it would be a 4-6 week process but after I put the deposit down they told me it would be another 8 weeks for permitting. I decided to pull my own permits to which they made it seem like this wouldn't work. They told me I would have the barn delivered by early April, Well it's in the middle of may and still no barn.
After I called for the 200th time and complained, they said it would be delivered tomorrow, Well I get a phone call today and lo and behold, they cancelled due to problems with their crew. So now they are saying it wont be delivered until after the holidays and yet they still cant give me a correct date, And so much more little pathetic detail in between, I would rather walk over hot coal then ever have to deal with this unprofessional company again. Please DO NOT use this company, it is not worth the stress.
