I live not far from the Airport 4.8 miles according to google and was charged £37.50 by Capital Cars to get home, after logging a complaint I was told that this fare is correct, absolute rubbish, I travel to and from the airport regularly and have never paid more than £25 despite it sometimes being later at night, this company are nothing but robbers ! I feel sorry for the tourists who are none the wiser !

Very rude driver. We had a disable person with walking problems and the driver didnt make it easier for him to get in the car, no help what so ever and he didnt even want to reverse to get the person in easier with his Walker stand. All he was worried about was not to scratch his boot. Terrible

There were serious doubts after they won the contract to service the airport.They are private hire company that hires everybody and anybodtly.
Now I tried to book a taxi to the airport and hey

Not good. Pre-booked taxi from Edin urgh airport. No taxi when I arrived so I called CC. They said I just need to go to the taxi rank and get the person there to book me a taxi. So, why did I pre-book with you…? Ended up having to pay more for a black cab

Rip off merchants - was told at taxi rank a taxi from airport would cost £38 but we were charged £48 which left me feeling ick to be ripped off at home. We were told we were overcharged but it wasn’t their policy to give us the £10 overcharge back. Very disappointing. Will not use this company again.

I booked taxi 1 hr before for 10 PM today and after waiting for 15 mins , I need to cancel because taxi was not assigned and they were not sure when will it arrive.
Very bad service.

I had two taxis booked for Saturday for a wedding in South Queensferry. The first taxi was at my home in Edinburgh to pick me up on time, I had a great chat with the driver on the way out and no issues at all. The second taxi was booked to take me home, he also showed up exactly on time, I also had a great chat on the way home and no issues at all. The app is good to be able to track and see when the driver is on their way and I had a great experience

Booked two taxi's one arrived the other didn't when i called they said one on the way as soon as the could.

After three bookings with this company, each experience has been a disaster. In the latest mishap, they charged our customer despite us having already paid. They promised a refund, but three weeks later, no one has contacted us. When we reached out today, instead of resolving the issue, they asked us to write an email and file a complaint. Three weeks and still no action? This company has zero understanding of customer service.

I was using that company regularly and never had major issue. Always ordering via mobile app and paying by card saved on my profile. At one occasion payment didn't went thru. I didn't realised that, nor the driver. 2 days later Driver banged my door and demanded payment for a ride. I asked for fee minutes time to check my bank account transaction history, as I was almost sure that payment has already been processed as usual. He said he does not have time for that, so I paid just to just to let him continue with his day and contacted bank later. Indeed transaction was declined, but bank didn't provide any more details. Since that time (it was a long time ago, maybe a year ago or sth like that) I am no longer welcome at that company as they blacklisted my phone number, mobile device, email address etc. You can easily see you are blacklisted when mobile app is not showing any available cars and got error 38 when trying to make a booking. It seems i have no choice other than blacklist capital cars. Luckily there are other taxis / private hire companies in Edinburgh.

Taxi was booked to take me to the bus station to catch a bus to the airport. Two minutes before it was due, the driver drove past and parked at the end of the street. Five minutes after it was due, he drove past in the opposite direction. When I phoned the office they lied and said he was on his way. When I challenged them they finally admitted that the driver had decided to go to another fare instead. I said I had a bus and a plane to catch and to get another driver pronto. I had to wait 15 minutes and was very stressed about missing my flight by that point. If drivers can just decide at the last minute not to turn up this is not a taxi company I will be using again.

When we arrived at Edinburgh airport we thought there would be someone with our name on a board but nothing! We didn't know where to go & nothing on our paperwork, after walking up & down for a while I decided to phone them up (twice). We were then directed to our pick up point. On arrival our taxi man said nothing, however the return airport journey was a lovely chatty man in a turban. Capital Cars you need to make sure people know where to locate the transfers!!

I have contacted by email Capital cars to book a car for 6 people.

First I was quoted £40, then £45 (I asked if could I have a reassurance that I’ll not be charged at the end £60, and the same person told me..well around £45 will not go near £60) to finally be charged £58.80

5 min before pick up time, I got a call from the company, the lady in the phone told me they didn’t have one car to fit 6 people and when I told her if the price would be the same for 2 cars she said not because the company never guaranteed one car…????? I have emails from 3 or 4 different people and not one had advice that could be the case.

On top of that they sent me a booking receipt for £39.60.

I booked a taxi online 2 days in advance of my required pick up via the portal for 11:55am pick up from Edinburgh Park to the EDI Airport. (Odd time yes but taxis are always late so I request them 5 mins earlier than required). I was running early therefore called Capital to ask if they could accommodate an early pick up, they agreed to 11:40am. The taxi didn’t show up so I called at 11:50am to confirm they will arrive at the original booking time of 11:55am they said yes my taxi is 5 mins away.

You can probably see where this is going……needless to say the taxi didn’t show up the staff on the phone lie and were extremely unhelpful! I caught a tram to the airport and I eventually received a call from Capital at 12:20 advising my taxi had arrived. 40 mins late based on the newly confirmed time and 25 mins based on the original booking. Poor and dishonest service.

I am sure I was scammed. Made a booking via another company that cancelled on me.
I then booked through a reputable company who confirmed my booking.
A cab arrived at pick up point (assumed it was the reputable company & even addressed the driver by name, who didn't correct me).
Only when I was en-route to the airport did I figure out this was not the company I booked through - yet they had my name!
When I asked the driver who he worked for and told me Capital Cars did I realise I had been scammed!
I had never booked with them nor received any sort of confirmation of such.
They had my name, location & time - put two and two together and I realise the company who cancelled on me must have shared my information.
Spent over £60 for a 5 min journey.
Scam. Be aware!

Came back home from a 6 month holiday. Arrived Edinburgh airport at 08.00 the layout of the taxi pick up and drop off had changed. I went to a lady gave my postcode which is in Tranent and the charge was £66.00 .... 😂 I said your kidding to Tranent ??? 6 months ago I paid a different taxi company £32 to get to the airport..... I refused to pay that as it's daylight robbery ...I jumped on the airport bus to princess street for £5.50 then got an Uber to Tranent for £21.00 total cost to get home £26.50..
This company now have the monopoly at the airport there is no choice of taxi company....
Be aware and do what I did...

Capital cars Scotland is a fraudulent cab company. They take advantage of people. They charged me £17 for meet and greet, when it never happened. In fact I had to look for the driver who could not communicate in English and stayed sat in the car at all times. Weird meet and greet. Disappointed. Theft and fraud. I would and you should never use them. Be warned.

I used their services and did not like the unpleasant situation. I would like to warn other people to be careful because it looks like a scam. The company charged me with a double payment, it looked like I had two trips and in their application I have one trip. Suddenly, when I asked for a refund, they fell silent in a strange and suspicious manner. In this case, I must notify the licensing department of the city council of the situation. To ask them for help and provide evidence of fraud. If you have not checked the status of user accounts before, start doing it because their company charges additional fees without the customer knowing. Of course, how do you use the card to pay for the course. Because in other situations, I do not know what it is like, I cannot express myself. As far as my feelings are concerned, I am not satisfied and I can safely say that it is a theft.
