Absolutely brilliant idea foe personal self care packages. The ability to customise them for the individuals concerned was an excellent option. Both recipients were over the moon with their gifts.

A great experience from start to finish. The online ordering process was simple and the products are unique and great quality. I ordered from Australia for my mum and step dad in Scotland who were isolating and it brought much needed smiles to their faces. I had a few queries about the order and Dan responded promptly and offered a superior level of service. A very satisfied customer indeed. Thanks to Brown Paper Packages for a brilliant service.

The delivery service used (DPD) was terrible. Incompetent driver didn’t find right address two days in a row (it was a hospital!) there were also food items in the package so didn’t want it to be much longer. I had to call DPD to give a contact number for the hospital for the driver (no one was available to respond in the chat service they offered), whilst on the phone trying to sort the problem I got hung up on, had to call again. Then two days later found out I was charged over £25 for the call. Trying to get money reimbursed by DPD but so far the customer services have been just as incompetent, currently been referred to complaints team who sent one initial email saying they would help but have now ignored two follow-up emails in a row and it’s been more than two weeks since their first email. Terrible delivery service experience, not happy at all.

UPDATE: This previous review was written as a complaint for how awful DPD were in delivering the packages I ordered from Brown paper packages and the incompetence of their customer services at DPD too. After seeing my review I was directly contacted by Dan at Brown paper packages within the hour, he listened to my complaint, apologised for the inconvenience caused and chased the issue with DPD straight away. He reassured me that even if DPD were not willing to compensate me for the phone call charges, Brown paper packages WOULD because the charges occurred as result of an order with them and even offered to reimburse me for the delivery charge costs on top of that. Every step of the way Dan has been considerate and kind and it is evident that they genuinely care about his customers. I have been reimbursed for the call charge and reassured that they will bring this up with DPD in their future quarterly review with them. I would also like to add that over all Brown paper packages have provided a 5 star service, the packages was dispatched next day as promised on their site, the recipient of the package had only words of praise for the contents of the package and despite the separate issues with DPD, once Brown paper packages were informed, they acted quickly to rectify them and did so gracefully. I will 100% be using Brown paper packages again in the future as I feel this type of personal and attentive care is rare!
