£449 Bose QC Ultra broke inside official case – offered £349 ‘replacement’, then denied it

I’ve always trusted Bose for build quality, which makes this so disappointing.
My Bose QuietComfort Ultra 60th Anniversary (Diamond White) headphones — bought for £449 — cracked inside their own official protective case after some light weight was placed on top. This caused the outer cup to split and a small internal ribbon cable to tear, leaving them completely dead.

I contacted Bose Support and was first quoted £349 for a replacement, then given a lower quote, and later told that the lower figure “was never offered.” I’ve kept screenshots of both quotes as proof.

Bose also told me they don’t repair headphones at all, yet they sell “official refurbished” QC Ultras for £289, which clearly come from repaired units. It feels unfair that loyal customers are charged nearly full retail instead of being offered a sensible repair or exchange — especially for damage that occurred while stored in the case Bose provides.

I’ve emailed bose with photos and screenshots and hope this can be escalated properly.
I’d really like Bose to stand by the durability and service reputation that made me choose them in the first place.

5-star treatment from Bose…

My wife bought me some refurbished Bose earbuds last year after I managed to destroy one of mine. The sound was the usual superb sound so I was extremely happy. Almost 2 years later, a few collisions with the pavement as well as plenty use in the rain one of the buds started to play up. I went into the app to see if it was a software issue or if I needed medical intervention. While mooching round the menus on the App I stumbled upon the fact that my buds were still in warranty. One of the simplest returns I’ve ever encountered and in less than a week I have replacement buds and once again superb sound for my music and films. Bose are well known for their 5-star sound and quality I’d like to add in customer service which was superb and painless.

AVOID BUY DC FOR AVIATION, WARRANTY CUT AFTER YOU HAVE 2 WARRANTY REPAIRS. Don’t waste your money

Well, I find my self back here again with BOSE! I bought a Proflight 2 headset in May 2021, with what I thought was a 5 year warranty. First, I would like to say that for a headset costing over £1000, I am appalled by the quality. Prior to this I had a DC which had no issues at all! I logged onto the site tonight for the 3rd warranty return in 4 1/2 years only to find that on my account that they say it is now ‘out of warranty’ I bought it on 25/5/21 and expected it to be in warranty until 24/5/26 but not with BOSE! The agent I chatted to had no reason but maybe because I used it twice in the past. This is ludicrous, the warranty suggests nothing of the sort. Now I find myself with a BOSE PROFLIGHT 2 with a crackling boom and an ANR that cuts out, making it unusable in a commercial environment.
Customer service no help.
In conclusion
I WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD!
DON’T BUY BOSE AVIATION HEADSETS. THEY ARE NOT UP TO THE ENVIRONMENT MINE HAVING BEEN BACK TWICE AND NEEDING A THIRD REPAIR IN 4 1/2 YEARS (I DON’T MISTREAT HEADSETS) WASRE OF MONEY AND IF YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO SEND IT BACK FOR REPAIRS TWICE BE PREPARED FOR THEM TO REDUCE YOUR WARRANTY BY 6 MONTHS.

I ordered a headset and I received an empty bottle. The customer service said that they opened an investigation, but they stopped answering and didn't take any responsibility. Is a scam, don't buy products here.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Disappointed with the smart features
Sound quality is good, no complaints there — but the smart features really let this down. While playing music on Spotify, it only plays one song and then stops. The app almost never works. I paid over £400 for this smart speak, and yet they can’t seem to get the basic functions to work properly. Very frustrating experience.

Well worth the money, wish I’d purchased a year ago!

Ordered on Thursday, delivered Saturday, I didn’t pay for speedy delivery but they got here quick.
I purchased the QC Ultra Headphones. As an emergency call operator, I have to wear headphones for a minimum of 40 hours per week. I was getting frustrated with my company provided, wired headphones with poor noise cancellation.
Vocals sound are crystal clear and there is no interruption from the world outside of my headphones - I can’t even hear myself clapping my hands next to my ears; absolutely perfect for what I need.
I listened to some of my favourite tracks (trance and rock) and have been completely blown away, I’m hearing beats I’ve never heard before, it’s like I can hear each individual component of music rather than just the blend; I didn’t know this was possible.
Never going back to cheap inferior headphones!

Terrible terrible terrible customer service, God awful. I'll never buy a Bose product again. Hours on chat to organise a replacement for a faulty product, was told I would get an email with my return label. They've not sent it!

Bose sport earbuds fail again

Bose sport earbuds fail. One of my sport ear buds decided to fail, not charge and just drain the battery box with the flashing red and white light of doom. It’s clearly a very well known issue for Bose, as the reviews online are vast, however as the product was just outside its warranty, the only option from Bose was for me to purchase a second hand refurbished pair. (They clearly have a lot to of refurbished ones, I wonder why) When a company knows it has an issue with one of its products, it should be recalled and all customers made aware, yet with Bose all we got was, not our problem, buy another - well not a chance. You have just lost another promoter of your products and lost any future business, shameful service and experience.

No customer service

QC headphones sent for replacement under warranty. Rang multiple times to find out where replacements are, last I was told they’d be shipped today and would receive a tracking email within 24 hrs. Never received. Rang again and told “system is updating so can’t access any customer accounts”. Abysmal. CC chargeback incoming.

Not worth the money

Bought the Bose QC Ultra Earbuds and the sound is good but connection is appalling. Also whenever I take a step it makes a loud banging sound so no good for running or high impact sports. Noise cancelling is not exceptional and shortcuts are soooooo bad and never work. There’s a setting that can’t be changed whereby if you tap the earphone it pauses the music, but it’s soooo frustrating cause it pauses if you adjust the earphone or tap it with your arm if your exercising. And then if you tap again to play the music again it’s non responsive. Honestly wish I’d just stuck to AirPods. It was not worth the money spent at all.
Also the charging seems to be bad, and the earbuds don’t last very long, battery time is poor.

Bose uk absolute shameless company sent…

Bose uk absolute shameless company sent my soundbar in a couple of months ago for repair , everytime on chat they said wait 3-5 days for more info every week I have contacted same old story from them until today
Today they are saying the didn't receive it 🤣🤣 honestly they are the worst company
They must have lost the soundbar or something now refusing to repair or replace my item

Earbuds have gone almost inaudeble despite all trouble shooting tips and tricks including updating firmware. Failed only 1 month after 2 year warranty mark! Contacted Bose. No repair offered, only another pair for 20% off! Oh Please. Apple all the way next time with Apple Care. Truly a perfect example of built in obsolescence....Awful customer service.

All though their products are abit expencive they're all up to the highest standard

I have 3 bose products now and none of them have disappointed, I dont know another company where every single product is perfect and I cant imagine buying audio products from any other company

Very good customer Services

Very good customer Services, I have been using Bose Quiet comfort Ultra earbuds almost two years, I haven't found anything compare to this pair interms of sound Quality and comfort. I have used sennhiser ,sony even earpods. nothing like that,using this earbuds couple times I have issue with bluetooth whenever I contact them, they have sent me another pair without complication. I really apprieciate their Excellent services.

Awful logistic and customer support

It is a pity that I can't leave a minus 5-star review. Such an expensive premium product should have top customer support, but it doesn't. Due to the tax avoidance scheme, Bose dispatches the product from Belgium. You have to wait ages until you receive the order. It goes without saying that a repair is even worse. How they can survive with such poor logistics is a mystery to be explored.
