I have hired three 8 yard skips from Batemans recently and service delivery has been spot on, including emails with accurate information on each delivery/collection. Easy to book online and they've been friendly/helpful on the phone when we've needed to speak in person too.

Used Bateman a few times over the past year and all three times have been painful.

They send smaller skips out than requested and paid for without a phone call or warning in the hope that you will not notice. Then when you call to discuss they say "Unfortunately we don’t have any 12yds in stock at the moment hence the 10yd in return" No good when you have 12yds of rubbish to dispose of, although they offer a refund for the difference, they won't drop another skip to cover the short fall mean ing the great cost to remove the rubbish falls to the customer.

Once payment is made and confirmed for your order, the emails then start saying "Thank you for your order, unfortunately we are fully booked today so I have booked your order in for tomorrows delivery." no good when you have scheduled labour to be onsite to carry out works.

Overall the process of ordering the skip on the online is easy, but that's where it stops. The day the skip is due is when all the problems start as they cannot facility the orders but take your money regardless and on the 11th hour you're stuck but to accept what they offer as you unable to go elsewhere on such sort notice. And Batemans know it!!

Deceiving and cunning is how I would describe Batemans

Surly staff, inconsiderate drivers.

Drop off - the driver hammers on the front door at 8am and then stares at me until I realise he wants me to move my car do he can deliver my skip. Not one word passes his lips.

Collection and drop off. 2 days delay, and then done at 6am on a Saturday.

Collection. Seriously. 5am on a Monday morning.
'Mate, what are you doing?'
'I've got to start my day somewhere.'
'At 5am in a residential area?'
'Well I'll go away and leave it here for a week then, will I?'

Nah mate. I'll remember not to recommend you to friends and family.

Arranged a grab hire to collect some waste. Specifically asked if there was anything they couldn't take and was told no, they would take everything. When the driver arrived he said he would only take rubble/ soil. Spoke to a lady at the office who confirmed this, saying we never take mixed loads on grab hires and that I should have know this. I've never hired a grab lorry before, hence why I asked what they would take. If people at their own office don't know then why would they expect a member of the general public to know. Their solution was for me to waste my time sorting the rubbish and then pay for another skip. No other solution offered. Really unhelpful and a complete waste of time.

I have used Batemans for a number of years during the extensive renovation of my property. I used Batemans again recently but unfortunately, on this occasion, the driver got too close to our electric gates and drove over the motor housing. The gates stopped working. I have had an initial temporary repair undertaken and paid for this but the proper repair will cost a significant sum of money. Batemans do not care one little bit. I sent pictures of the damage to Lee Bateman and had a polite reply saying he would call me but despite chasing there has been no contact. So, if you are happy having your property damaged, use Batemans. If you want any sort of customer service (even as a regular customer) without resorting to Court proceedings then use another company.....

Below average service. Skip arrived a day later than booked. Fair enough they gave me some money back - but I only knew this because I had to call four times to get an answer on when the skip would be delivered. I then booked it for collection and Wasn’t given a date for collection by the office. Just called now (a week after my original call to book collection) and have been told it’s booked in for tomorrow. I don’t mind that things sometimes get delayed or go wrong but communication by the office team to let me know was non existent. When speaking to the team on the phones customer service skills when dealing with complaints really very poor. I said that my experience hadn’t been great and the call handler said “Ok” and put the phone down. Drivers have always been brilliant. I’m afraid I won’t be using Batemans again.

Will definitely be using them again shortly.

Batemans Skips have been the principal waste contractor on all of our commercial projects in and around the Bristol area for the last few years. Great price, fast delivery and prompt pick up! Really pleased with overall service.

Bateman Skips advertise ‘Book.Fill.Gone’ on their website, but this is not what happens! I booked the skip and paid for it in full. It did not turn up on the day arranged, despite frequent emails and reassurances from Bateman that it would. This meant the builders were gone and I had to lift all the house bricks and bags of rubble in to the skip myself, the next day. I contacted Bateman saying it was ready for collection but it took two weeks and numerous emails before it was removed. Bateman kept reassuring me that it would be collected, so we moved our cars ready and then ‘nothing’. Never an attempt at contacting us. I just didn’t know how to get it taken away. Eventually my husband called the office. I did try to explain my plight and even offered to come in to the office and talk personally with someone. I am a reasonable person, but would definitely not recommend Bateman Skips to anyone.

Excellent service, delivery when promised on a drive with limited access, very easy to deal with and collected on a promised date with no hassle, would definitely recommend, booked filled and gone.

Ordered a skip last Saturday, allowing me to choose that date as option, I then get an email on the Monday saying there's no availability & the earliest date for delivery is Friday. I call at 1pm on Friday to check it's coming & the chap said it could be up until 4pm but likely to be 2:30 - 3:00. 4:30 & still no skip so I call & told the driver has gone home & the earliest is Monday!! Needless to say I cancelled my skip hire. Absolute joke of a company. Should have learnt my lesson when I used them before & specifically said NOT to block my garage door & the driver low & behold blocked my garage door. Avoid at all costs unless you want to be given the run around.

Been in the building game 40 years so used to skip companies saying driver is on his way and arriving 6-24hrs later this company delivered on time and collected on time at a good price

Just ordered with confidence our third skip in matter of weeks. First time I ordered I had a personal reply instantly. I asked for quick collection as people are likely to abuse it with their rubbish. Spot on they took the day I asked. Another delivered today as planned and I’m confident they will remove Monday. Thank you to a professional reliable company.

First time I have ever ordered a skip. From beginning to end it was easy. Very helpful friendly member of staff. Great communication. Skip arrived on the correct day and was pick up when arranged. Kept up to date via text message which was very helpful A++++

They dented our gates back in Feb and I have rang and emailed in over 15 times and nothing back. Admittily covid has reduced their service but this is still awful!
I keep on getting promised a call back from a manager but so far nothing!! Its been 8 months!
