1-month follow-up to on-spot initial…

1-month follow-up to on-spot initial review.

I made a full cash purchase on a used but seemingly well-kept Nissan Note with 91k miles recorded at time of purchase at £3.3k. It came with a standard 3-month £250 warranty on certain parts. I was met by Zee at the train station on the day, who'd kindly agreed to pick me up in the car I was coming to look at, as I had no car after a few years of not owning one, and I drove back to the dealership. I realise in hindsight I should have asked to be picked up in a different car to see it from cold start, but that be partially due to my inexperience. I had a chance to test drive it back to the dealership and it drove very well.

Upon inspecting the car at the dealership, the only problem item I noticed was a loose boot handle and was aware and Zee and his team were able to apply a temporary remedy that I was satisfied with.

As with any old high mileage car, I was expecting some repairs of certain items in the months following as part of due maintenance. However a problem appeared a few days after purchase. A squealing noise from the bonnet when taking off from idle. This turned out to be a worn drive belt that I replaced at a local garage for £130. Again due partly to my inexperience, I evidently hadn't noticed it was worn when inspecting the engine area. There had been no such noise in the days prior. I was expecting to make repairs within the first few months, but for an item to begin to fail just days after purchase is disappointing. I learned later when contacting the dealer that the part wasn't covered and they wouldn't cover the cost at the time. However, in the last few days a member of the team reached out after my review was posted and I was compensated for my troubles. I appreciate the goodwill gesture.

After leaving the dealership, I had two front tyres replaced at an Aylesbury tyre fitters. This was free of charge to the credit of the dealer. However, I later learned that one tyre had been pressurised to an usafe 5atm, and the other had an already low tread of 2-3 mm (later swapped locally). I don't blame the dealer for this, but I advise you to communicate with the fitter to ensure this doesn't happen in the future.

Overall, the initial purchase and interaction was very pleasant and accommodating. The drive belt situation was disappointing, but eventually rectified by the team a month later. The offer to put things right was helpful, but next time I hope the dealership will be more proactive with similar customer complaints.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed and balanced review.

We’re pleased to hear that you found the purchase experience pleasant and that Zee and the team were helpful throughout. We’re also glad that, following your concerns regarding the drive belt, a member of our team reached out and we were able to provide a goodwill gesture to resolve the matter.

We appreciate your comments regarding the tyres and will certainly take your feedback on board with the fitting centre.

As you rightly acknowledge, this was a used Nissan Note with 91,000 miles, and some maintenance and wear-and-tear can naturally arise with an older, higher-mileage vehicle. Nevertheless, we always want our customers to feel supported, which is why we were happy to assist and ultimately put things right.

Thank you again for your honest feedback and for choosing Aylesbury Trade Centre. We appreciate your business and hope you continue to enjoy the Nissan Note. 🚗

Extreme bad experience with this dealer.
After selling me a faulty car, they still have attitude, refused to give my money back and kept saying over and over that the car drives so what else do I want. They have no shame.
PLEASE AVOID!!! SCAMMERS!!!
They have been reported for bad practice, false advertising and fraud. BE CARERUL and DO NOT TRUST THEM.

We strongly dispute this review and the serious allegations made within it.

The claim that we sold a “faulty car”, acted fraudulently or deliberately engaged in false advertising is completely unsubstantiated. These are extremely serious allegations and should not be presented as fact simply because a customer is unhappy with the outcome of a complaint.

The statement that we repeatedly explained that the vehicle “drives” is also being taken completely out of context. A customer's preferred outcome does not automatically mean that a dealership is legally or contractually required to refund a vehicle.

If the customer genuinely believes that fraud or false advertising has taken place, they should allow the relevant authorities to investigate and reach their own conclusion rather than making those allegations publicly.

We are an established dealership with nearly 1,000 genuine Google reviews from customers, and we encourage prospective customers to look at our overall customer feedback rather than relying on an angry and one-sided review.

We are happy to deal with genuine complaints through the appropriate channels, but we will not accept our business being labelled “scammers” or accused of fraud without evidence.

We stand by our business, our staff and the way this matter was handled.

Stay Away!!

Buy Elsewhere!

Don't base your research just on Google reviews like I did, check out TrustPilot aswell!

Recently purchased a car from here. All seemed good, everything fell into place. Had an issue whilst driving home and a separate issue the following day, and they told me to book it in with my local garage.

Further research Into the service history once purchased, and after speaking to BMW, despite the idrive showing full service history, BMW confirmed this had been falsified and they haven't serviced the car since 2021. This evidence was given to the dealership.

Took it to my local garage, to find the vehicle had major mechanical and electrical faults, with a quotation of £4k+ to repair! And they still hadn't traced the fuel and oil leak, so that would be a further expense again once located! The car was also rotten underneath. Again, this evidence was given to the dealership through video from my garage.

Rejected the vehicle under consumer rights. They told me the warranty cover would pay for most of the work and they'd top up the short fall. The warranty company told me that wasn't true and they wouldn't cover anything as faults were present at point of sale. Again I rejected it to be told I had to do so via email only

Whilst they agreed to take the car back they denied any misrepresentation or liability and tried to charge me to have it collected, knowing full well under the consumer rights act the seller must bare all costs. They refused to refund my diagnostic fee despite agreeing to it via email! Pretty hard to deny any liability or misrepresentation when it was advertised FSH which it didn't have, and the issues are ECU logged with date/time.

They made the return process as difficult as possible. Finally collecting the car on the agreement I would receive the refund once inspected and back in their possession. The car was collected on a Thursday evening, and relisted on their website again by Saturday! Again listed as FSH, and clearly impossible to have rectified the endless list of faults in that time. It was only a few days later after relisting the vehicle and me threating trading standards was my refund issued.

I purchased the an extended 12 months warranty at almost £900, which I've since had the exact same warranty, for a lifetime, for the same price!

From my purchase here with this dealership, they sold me a non road worthy vehicles with proven falsified history, being shown video evidence of present faults, and then relisting the vehicle back for sale once returned!

If you have purchased and are having an issue, research the Consumer Rights Act 2015, because you will need it! They will attempt every underhand tactic possible!

Save yourself the headache, hassle, stress and anxiety and buy elsewhere!

**Edit in response to Aylesbury Trade Centres Reply**
I see I have had reply. Its rather embarrassing that they continue to discredit themselves further.
This response from Aylesbury Trade Centre is misleading and factually incorrect. The vehicle was sold to me with a falsified BMW service history and multiple pre-existing faults, including safety-related issues confirmed by an independent German specialist (with the dealer’s written consent to take it there which I have proof of). Diagnostic data and inspection reports show the faults were present before purchase. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, a vehicle must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. As these conditions were not met, I exercised my short-term right to reject within 30 days of purchase, a clear legal right, not a goodwill gesture as claimed. Despite their claim of “no legal obligation,” the Act required them to provide a refund once the car was returned. All correspondence, including their written authorisation for third-party inspection, diagnostic reports, and email trail, supports my version of events, all of which I still have. I suggest future buyers should always request written confirmation of service history and independently verify it with the manufacturer before purchase.

Hi,

We are disappointed to read this account, as it does not reflect what actually took place.

When you reported concerns with the vehicle, no repairs were carried out by any third party, and no diagnostic evidence of any fault was provided to us at any stage. Despite this, and without any admission of liability, we immediately offered to collect the vehicle from your address and issue a full refund as soon as it arrived back on site.
This is exactly what happened.

The vehicle was returned, inspected, and your full refund was processed promptly.

Throughout the process, we tried to resolve the matter quickly and professionally. Unfortunately, communication became increasingly difficult due to the volume and length of the emails you repeatedly sent, often repeating the same points without providing any actual technical evidence for us to review.

Even so, we still completed a full refund to bring the matter to a close.

We always act fairly and within the Consumer Rights Act, and we remain committed to resolving any genuine issues in a straightforward and cooperative way.

Kind regards,
Zach

ZERO STARS!

ZERO STARS!
Dishonesty bordering on fraud. Avoid these rogue traders at all costs!
My heavily pregnant wife and I fell into a trap laid by these crafty conmen.
A purposefully misleading Autotrader listing for a VW Tiguan, where the words "oil leak" were hidden in a block of text in all capitals, with no punctuation, purposefully hidden in the hope it would be overlooked.
When my pregnant wife and I arrived to inspect the vehicle there was zero mention of the oil leak, which we had clearly overlooked. On the contrary, the salesman had nothing but positive things to say about the vehicle and made no mention at any point about the known mechanical issue with the vehicle.
He was more preoccupied with bragging about the fact he had lost his drivers license due to so many speeding offences, rather than giving us an honest description of the vehicle - a big red flag which we regrettably overlooked due to our urgent need for a vehicle before the arrival of our baby.
To top it all off, they made us sign a "Trade Sale" agreement which supposedly waived our rights under the consumer rights act... I have since found out this is completely unlawful since we are clearly private buyers and at no point represented ourselves to be "traders"... It was a cheap trick to palm off a vehicle on unsuspecting and desperate members of the public!
Fast forward 6 weeks and the oil warning light and various other issues inlcuding a leaking roof (completely sodden floor of the vehicle) and the discovery that a comically undersized car battery had been fitted in the vehicle, out mechanic advised us to get rid of the vehicle ASAP.
Upon calling the garage they immediately went on the defence saying "You knew the vehicle had an oil leak when you bought it"... I can only imagine him looking up the vehicle on the system, with me on the phone, and seeing a note in big red letters saying.... "Oil Leak Scam...follow this script"
In short, we lost over £1,500 on the vehicle in a space of 6 weeks and have been left in a much worse position than when we sadly first encountered these cowboys.
These people have no morals or honesty and should be avoided at all costs!
I hope this cautionary tale encourages other people to read the small print and avoid falling into the same trap we did!
Were it not for the already stressful situation of welcoming our new child into the world, I would be taking them to court to try and recoup our lost money!

Your review contains a number of accusations that are not accurate.

The vehicle was clearly advertised with the fault “OIL LEAK” stated in the listing before you viewed the car. Nothing was hidden, and the price reflected the declared fault. You inspected the vehicle in person, were fully aware of the disclosed issue, and chose to proceed with the purchase on that basis.

The paperwork you signed was a standard reduced-price invoice used when a vehicle is sold with known faults, and it does not and cannot remove your consumer rights. It simply confirms that the car was sold with a declared issue at a heavily discounted price.

Six weeks later, you reported additional concerns, but no inspection report, diagnostic report, or evidence was ever provided to show any new fault existed at the point of sale. Without any technical assessment, it is not possible to link later-developing issues to the original sale.

We operate transparently and legally, and the suggestion of a “trap”, “scam”, or any deliberate wrongdoing is simply not true. The car was advertised honestly, the known fault was disclosed, and the price reflected this.

We understand buying a car during a stressful time can feel overwhelming, but the facts remain that the oil leak was declared upfront and you knowingly proceeded with the purchase.

Kind regards,
Zach

Not sure why the negative reviews

Not sure why the negative reviews, as buying a second hand car will always come with risks. I can say we were only treated very well by Zee and his colleagues. He and I handled the whole transaction via WhatsApp and a couple of video calls. We even decided to get the car delivered as were confidant if anything was wrong, we were fully covered by the Warranty etc...
So far the car has been spot on and not missed a beat, my daughter who the car was for is over the moon. Thanks again to Aylesbury Trade centre.

Very happy with this company and the after service.

Zee who looked after us was a breath of fresh air. No pressure, no hassle, just good honest customer service. Car was presented well and priced fairly. After a bit of haggling over small bits we felt would be needed to get car to our standard a deal was done and kept simple/easy. Peace of mind from being AA approved and supplied with short warranty. We had a couple of hiccups with car in following days but they didn't let us down with after service, agreeing to cover cost to have these sorted locally and paying swiftly. Polite and helpful throughout. Car is now back as it was and we love it.
I have been in the motor trade for 45 years and always get asked if I can recommend any car sales or garages. Sadly this is the first time I can actually say yes to that!

COWBOYS SELLING FAULTY VEHICLES

Would give 0 stars or less! 1 is generous.
My partner bought a car for 7k and within driving 1 mile away from the centre the engine light came on. Their own garage couldn't find the issue despite me waiting 3-4 hours so I had to leave the car overnight and have a courtesy car. It took me video calling a family friend who is a mechanic to talk Aylesbury Trade Centres recommended mechanics through how to fix the issue.
By the time i got the car home 24 hours later the reverse camera was not working and neither was the electric passenger mirror.
After arguing my case with them they gave me a 3 month warranty and promised that I would receive a full refund if any other issues arose in that time.
Within two weeks the engine and service light came on and the car was not changing gear (automatic). Despite the AA fixing this and draining 2 litres of oil off (after supposedly being serviced the day before purchase), the issue reoccurred repeatedly.
They have refused me the refund I was promised after the initial issues, and devalued the car by 1k for the small amount of miles I have driven in it, and for repair costs. I have had to argue excessively and got nowhere.
I then tried to return the car after giving up and accepting the 6k, and they tried to further devalue it and implied that I enjoyed the car because I used it for my ESSENTIAL commute. This is all in a period of about 6 weeks.
Absolute cowboys - DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER!

Do not buy a car from this garage

Do not buy a car from this garage. They are cowboys i brought a car from them just under a year ago. I have had nothing but problems with this car. I've already spent over a £1000 on it. I've just had it m.o.t'd and now find out it was sold to me with no airbag. Phoned them to tell them and they say they can't help me and I should go on Ebay to source one. Once they have your money they don't want to know, terrible customer service. They need to be reported to trading standards and be shut down.
